For all of Good Smile’s problems and shortcomings these days they still make a banger Samus figure. (Somehow they make her better every time!!)
Mine shipped yesterday. Metroid is my favorite IP. I have literally everything that was released for dread including a sealed special edition. To say im excited is an understatement. Plus the EMMI next year my god.

I’ve seen all I needed to see. While it’s a possibility I may not see my copy until next year, this sets a pretty hard standard to beat. Figma killed it. That metallic blue paint gives me such neuron activation.
Would’ve liked some beams though. At least the Omega Canon Beam. Shame about that magnet.
Maybe with the Metroid Suit? They’re making that right?

Great review, i absolutely love Metroid and Dread was my game of the year and to see the dread suit come in figure form and boy it really shines in terms of detail, paint, and articulation. This is definitely a fantastic figure for many fans to have. Looking forward for the EMMI. Hopefully in the future, would love to see the other suits as well.
Do you think we'll ever get an Articulated Ridley figure?

This is an awesome figure, and a comprehensive review. I took a copy of mine and used some Gundam markers to panel line it -- it really makes the sculpting pop on the white and red sections, but it's also totally understandable if people don't want to do it to an expensive figure!

My biggest problem with this figure is that it comes with so few proper dynamic accessories. I have the Other M figure and it comes with 4 fairly unique alternate hands that each serve a different purpose, 2 blast effects, and a rocket mode barrel for the cannon in addition to the morph ball. I don't have the Prime 3 version but I believe that also has a fair few bits. Meanwhile, other than the morph ball, this just has two hands and the final cannon. The magnet stuff I wish was replaced with a couple more hands (especially the thumbs up hand) and a rocket mode barrel (beam effects I don't necessarily care too much about but they would have been a neat inclusion).
BTW, is the head connection on this figure the same as with the Other M and Zero Suit figs? Or in other words, can you swap the Zero Suit head onto this suit to give her an unhelmeted look like you can do with the Other M figure?

Got the figure recently but it seems like my shoulder ball joint on the left arm wants to pop out far too easily. I thought that heating up the socket would make the connection tighter but it pops out all the same. I think the cavity either doesn’t go deep enough or they didn’t carve out enough of the socket. Really hoping I don’t need to use a dremel or glue on a ~$100 figure I just got.

I agree. the articulation for this fig is great, and yea articulation on the flaps would of been a plus. Not a deal breaker imo. Unfortunately I misjudged the scale of her and she didn't fit in the display I was gonna put her in. Definitely not Figma's fault. All on me. Still a nice action fig if you are into Metroid.

The only figure that can come side to side with her in terms of best figure is Jada Toys Chun Li. Both figures are fantastic and bring justice to both characters.

$90 shipped from Amazon Japan? That means she was around $70 plus shipping when you ordered. I remember checking on amazon jp with the first pre-order wave, and it wasn't $90 shipped. It was around $97 plus shipping. I was pushing back pre-ordering her in the first wave of pre-orders, and ended up having to get it from from Tokyo Otaku Mode for $112 shipped, after it sold out everywhere suddenly. Cheapest I could have gotten her for was $102 if I didn't keep waiting to pre-order. I most definitely would have gotten the figure from Amazon jp if was $90 with shipping included. I guess I am going to have to check Amazon JP more.

@@purgeangel they are waiting for North American distribution which could be anywhere from 1:00 to 3 months after. Unfortunately, they have to get their orders in by freight and then once it gets to the distribution warehouse it gets sent out to North American retailers. It means more availability, however it shows up much later.
