Great episode. So nice to hear from people who actually “get it” in modern. Modern attendance was way down. Hopefully this brings us back. What a lovely day.

I think we need to realize that modern horizons sets need to be the most moderated. Its great to add new cards to an eternal format. But you cannot break a format every two years. If i invest in modern like i want to, i need to know that my deck is not going to he completly useles in 1-2 years time. Im all for buying singles that slightly alter a decks plan or adaptability. But the point of investing in eternal formats is the eternal nature of the. You cant have eternal formats become standard and rotating too much. Im happy with seeing these bans and the consideration the team is showing. Just keep this in mind for future releases please. Also timeless needs to hit the boros energy in some way.
@ you are in the dream dude. Now mtg is money oriented. I guarantee they knew all the cards they banned are overpowered. If they don’t print them, no one will crack packs.
timeless just needs reasons to play some other thing in energy's place as the "fair" deck of the format. something like(but not the same as) the red prison strategies you see in legacy or maybe a deck more in line with vintage prison shops would be fine with me, although i miss the playstyle the old jarsyl jund lists had too
I appreciate the approach taken with the bans for Modern this time around. However I fear that this is another band-aid trying to hold together a format that doesn't have it's own identity anymore. As soon as Horizons sets were printed, I and many other MTG players felt that modern would become block constructed. And as we have seen over the past 4 years, this has been mostly the case. I think we will continue to see a decaying modern format until the core of the issue is fixed.
@@arcticz6457 That's overselling it and misdiagnosing what's going on. Great BnR for modern players, I would love for wizards to address Legacy more, the updates for legacy for the last several BnR's has been lacking and the format could use some help right now, not only should you have more experts and opinions, but wizards needs to listen to them and have people that are invested and in touch with the format making the decisions. ThrabenU has a great long form video on the health of the format and this BnR and The Eternal Glory Podcast really breaks down the short comings.
I'm really happy that You trying to make soooo important formats (for teaching new players) like Modern and Legacy balanced, rich, diversify and competetive. For Legacy it's important to have responses for almost enverything (not only counterspells) e.g. we haven't also good responses for Nadu's triggers. The more and more I think about this makes me wonder if this can be questionable on a legal scale where compensation or reimbursement can be considered by a judge. It seems pretty clear wizards is manipulating the system to sell product, just to turn around and make it unusable when they sell the most of the product later on or when they are coming up with a new set. Ppl have to spend a lot of money either sifting through product, or to buy the singles by someone who sifted through the product.
