Those do not even look like beams they are battens that have gone up and been painted ! Looks like gas fire in the recess older fireplace. The wood makes it so dark! Beware bamboo absolutely a no no, looks like plastic green lawn ? Maybe if you turned off the lights switched on you would actually see some rooms are quite dark and need the lights on to give light ?
