The sephora brand eye cream and moisturizers are actually such a yummy texture though. If they made those ones even heavier I would drool lol. Cassandra, can you please make a skin care routine for young people dealing with stress factors, like for premature aging and darker eyelids. I was watching this video and when he told us “well there are only 5 years of medical education” (something) I felt that so hard :))) So maybe something for prevention and treatment?
It's really the filter that's off about his video. Those products could've sponsored him knowing that he has impact on his subscribers considering he is an "educational youtuber". Also can't take him seriously as a "doctor" anymore after the whole scandal last year
i was thinking that maybe with the eye cream he doesn't want to have retinal because of skin sensitivity or something. I noticed in the side by side the eye cream didn't have that in it. And it can be drying or irritating around the eyes.
He went out partying when covid cases were high and covid vaccinations werent a thing yet. It was pretty careless considering he was always preaching that “people should stay at home” ironic
I ALWAYS wash my face in the shower. However when I'm rinsing my face, I turn the temperature RIGHT down otherwise it would dry my Sahara desert skin out! In the morning I either skip washing my face or wash it with Klairs water/toner or a gentle cream cleanser, depending on how many THICK layers of skincare I have left over from the night before 😁💜🖤💜🖤
I never see enough people talk about how important water temperature is! I thought that certain products were drying my skin out and making my eye area a flaky, peeling mess. Turns out like 90% of the problem was that I was constantly taking super hot showers and my face doesn't like that. I do the same as you -- hot shower, but crank that water down to lukewarm/slightly cool for the face, and the peeling has essentially stopped. I do sometimes forget and leave the water hot, and of course, I flake. Pay attention to the temperature, guys!
@@sluttymctits4496 Yes, it's important to use tepid water on the face. I have rosacea, and I'm careful about this, and it helps. I also have dry skin, so I don't take very hot or cold showers. It helps, especially in cold weather.
I don’t like cetaphil either. Feels way too mild / doesn’t clean me enough at all 😂 And CeraVe body cream really dried me out... How are you allergic to both derma brands tho?
The eye cream is heavier than the moisturizer so I think he just wants to add extra moisturizer versus putting on layers of the face moisturizer. That cream, while not occlusive, feels more occlusive than the moisturizer.
Sadly even if everyone turned the water off during washing, brushing etc, it wouldn't make even a tiny dent in how much water is used by farming, food production, and in all other textile trades, every single hour of every day.

Hi Cassandra, I edited this video. I can promise, absolutely no skin filter was used. There was a layer of color correction applied, but we don't use "skin filters" and never have. 🤗

He's kinda meh. He found himself in a bit of controversy (Less than deserved, tbh) due to him having a party on a yacht during the panini after he told his viewers over and over again to stay at home.

I agree because I've seen his other videos, even very up close, I can see his flushed skin and few pores but that's it. He's just got an amazing skin, why do men have amazing skin even when they don't put in any effort at all? And here I am trying everything and my skin isn't even half as good😫
I personally like to wash my face after the shower, just in case something like shampoo or body wash gets onto my face. I also don't want my moisturizers/serums to come off in the shower.
Wash head to toe . Hair and conditioner first then face . Afterwards exfoliate face if you need too . Then wash the body then exfoliate your body to get rid of any conditioner you may have gotten on your shoulders .
I’ve lost all respect for Doctor Mike after he as a doctor, carelessly partied in a pandemic without the vaccine. Also good on you sis for calling the filter out! The obsession with beauty in today’s age is weird and we should expect influencers to be honest about how much they filter their photos/videos.
@May that’s not the point. The point is relentlessly guilt tripping people into staying home throughout the whole pandemic including for holidays like thanksgiving and then turn around and go to a yacht part for your birthday.

It depends. If I finish working out, I wash my face in the shower. If there's still sunlight after the shower, I don't wash my face and wear sunscreen on once more.
I used to think you don't need an eye cream until I got dermatitis around my eyes from cerave face cream...some people have much more sensitive skin around the eyes so I do believe eye creams are much less likely to have high concentration of something that can be irrirant
I always shower in the morning (short hair plus sweat while i sleep equals a hot mess) and I wash my face in the shower right before I get out, so I turn the temp down to be safe. I tend to take mild/tepid showers anyway but I know hot showers can strip the skin. My oily/combo skin hates it when shampoo and conditioner linger, so I just use the mildest face wash I like. It works for me!
regarding the showering question, I use an oil-based cleanser first, put on a masque, let it dry, wash it off in the shower, do a second water-based cleanser to clean the rest of it off, and then put on a moisturizer after I get out of the shower before my skin dries.
do you have a recomended teen skincare routine? I am still waiting for dermatologist appointment but I would just like a few suggestions for my crazy dehydrated bumby red and sensitive face until then. Ily
Go for something simple and gentle ☺️ there's a lot of ways to create a good routine for you, mostly just experimenting. You could try: if you have bumby acne skin, try a cleanser with salicylic acid. Toners are not extremely necessary but they can also do a great job soothing your skin - my personal recommendation for toner would be rose water. Then get yourself a vitamin c and some moisturizer that's not too thick but has tons of water. When I was a teen (I'm 22 now) I would apply aloe Vera as well, since it moisturizes and helps with scarring (same as the rose water), and I would make sure to keep my face slightly damp when applying my products to increase water absorption - please note that some products must be applied to dry skin. If you have a lot of acne and want to go deeper on your exfoliating game, get yourself some chemical exfoliant. You can use it in combination with the cleanser, just not everyday. Go slow and start with a more gentle acid, such as madelic acid. As for brands, just see what's available in your country and check reviews online.
For an extremely simple routine I’d recommend a gentle cleaner (Cetaphil is what I use right now); a non-alcohol toner, maybe with niacinamide to help with your bumps (good molecules makes one), a niacinamide serum, a serum directed for acne maybe, and then a simple moisturizer 🤷🏾♀️
I shower twice a day, in the morning to make sure my hair looks good and fresh (curly hair) and at night to make sure I go to bed all clean, and I wash my face after the shower so I don't wash off my moisturizer
I shower at night but wash my face AFTER my shower. The water in the shower tends to really strip my skin & make it feel tight and uncomfy so I use my hydrating face wash AFTER to really replenish my skin while also cleaning. Whatever water gets on my face during a shower is all that happens in the shower face-wise!
10:03 exactly what i commented on the video. Talks about marketing schemes and then proceed to put an 'Overpriced Moisturizer' in his eye area lol might have come as a 'bundle' 🤷🏻♂️ but still totally unnecesarry.

@@angelrose7451 there's a really gentle non fragranced one that's sephora brand, the fresh rose eye & face creams feel so good to apply, too. Otherwise, I've mostly used eye creams from sets and samples like ole Heinrich and mario badescu sets back in the day. The sephora brand eye cream and moisturizers are actually such a yummy texture though. If they made those ones even heavier I would drool lol. I kept trying lanolin but it is kinda waxy and dry & weird on my skin so I might try the weleda skin food next 😋👍
I LOVE the biossance squalane + marine algae eye cream! It’s so think and fragrance/irritant free with an amazing ingredient list. It’s definitely more for hydrating, fine lines, and firming rather then redness or puffiness

Honestly, he's a doctor and not a skincare professional. I thought he did fine, the eye cream is not the end of the world.
It's really the filter that's off about his video. Those products could've sponsored him knowing that he has impact on his subscribers considering he is an "educational youtuber". Also can't take him seriously as a "doctor" anymore after the whole scandal last year
yea like it’s not even disapproved by dermatologists but they say that it’s not necessary
i was thinking that maybe with the eye cream he doesn't want to have retinal because of skin sensitivity or something. I noticed in the side by side the eye cream didn't have that in it. And it can be drying or irritating around the eyes.

I ALWAYS wash my face in the shower. However when I'm rinsing my face, I turn the temperature RIGHT down otherwise it would dry my Sahara desert skin out! In the morning I either skip washing my face or wash it with Klairs water/toner or a gentle cream cleanser, depending on how many THICK layers of skincare I have left over from the night before 😁💜🖤💜🖤
Same 🤣
I never see enough people talk about how important water temperature is!

Hi Cassandra, I edited this video. I can promise, absolutely no skin filter was used. There was a layer of color correction applied, but we don't use "skin filters" and never have. 🤗
....why r u a liar bro😭
Who actually videoed it? He did and applied the filter himself then sent it on?
Love your videos Cassandra! Ah this is so sad that they use a filter, especially on a skin care video. It gives people such false perceptions of what skin really looks like. I'm glad that you called that out!
I don’t care he’s using the exact same moisturizer but smaller on his eyes cuz it’s cute seeing a guy do skin care steps lol
You're the only reason I moisturize around my eyes. I grew up thinking eye creams were only wrinkle preventing 😂 I cut my routine in half and feel sooo much better about my skin just watching your videos for like 6 months. You're informed, climate and ingredient conscious, and share the info genuinely--and of course, your transparency about acne!
I wash my face in the shower because I always get water everywhere on the countertop no matter how hard I try not to.
Everyone seems to hate eye creams because they’re just moisturisers but the slight different in formulations really makes a difference sometimes for me, my eyes get SO dry and crepey and eye creams are better at masking that for me usually
Same issues here. May I ask if you have some good recommendations for eye creams? 😊

Yes, I wash my face in the shower if I'm taking the shower in the evening or early morning (I don't have a dead set time of day when I prefer to take the shower).
Same. First I shampoo/condition, then wash from neck to toe, then wash face.

I love washing my face in the shower, I make sure the water is suitable temperature for my face tho
regarding the showering question, I use an oil-based cleanser first, put on a masque, let it dry, wash it off in the shower, do a second water-based cleanser to clean the rest of it off, and then put on a moisturizer after I get out of the shower before my skin dries.
do you have a recomended teen skincare routine?
I love how you think you know more than board certified dermatologists haha😂

Omg, the water wasting comment… it’s me!!! It also drives me crayyy
Dr Mike is a professional grown man but the way he acts I always think

Love Good Molecules skincare brand! I used it for the first time today. Did not know Dr Mike uses it too and just happened upon this video!
