    We started CC this year. I really liked the idea of a classical conversation even though I didn't know much about it. Thank you for making this video it has helped me understand it a lot more

    Thanks for this video, I’m starting CC with my 8 year old soon and all the information you shared was very helpful. I found a CC community and I’m very exited to be doing this along a homeschool community 😊.

      If there was more Cycle 1 stuff on CC connected already I would 100% be doing my prep right now! Last year most stuff wasn’t posted until July unfortunately 😞 But once it is I’ll definitely do a video and you can copy away! 😉

    Hi there! I am so glad I found you!
    I just found a CC group near me and have no idea about Essentials (which I will be tutoring because my daughter needs me to or there would be no Essentials class in our area) but I NEED the community for my 4 children. The last 2 years have been really tough on them. I want to be able to give them an education and I am so thankful for the director in our area who made the decision to direct so there would be a group here.

    Thank you so much for doing this!! I have had so many questions! We would like to do the program but will not be able to be a part of a community unfortunately. What cycle in Foundations will be starting at this upcoming school year(2021-2022)? Thank you so much for your help and information!!❤

    My son struggles with attention. He is 10 years old. I didn't believe having him in a special education classroom like his school say. I wonder in cc will be good for us. I know he can struggle with math and reading(dyslexia) so I need I would need to get support material for that too.

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You should find a community nearby and go visit! It might be a great fit for your son!

    What about learning to read? Do you need a separate reading program? And what about a math program?

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you’ll need to add a language arts and a math curriculum to CC.

    I have a question. Do you feel CC is the best program to begin with if my child is going into 6th grade and has been in public school until now? I visited our local CC and although my child has been an A student throughout school, the background in science and history the other students had was overwhelming.

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Grace-u5lol I would never want to say CC is the “best” program because every child and every family are different so it’s not one size fits all. That being said, tons of kids start CC in middle school and do great with it so if you’re leaning toward CC I say go for it, he will likely do great! When CC was originally designed it was for high school only - they later created the Foundations program to prepare students for Challenge (7th-12th grade) but you can absolutely jump in having not done Foundations and that’s fine.

    How much a day do you do homeschooling on your non community days for Foundations?

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just CC specific? Or everything in general? If you're just asking about CC: we spend about 10 minutes listening to the memory work. When my kids were younger they did 1-2 simple worksheets that went along with the memory work, and that was it. Now that they're older we spend some time watching some related videos or reading a chapter from Story of the World or I have them do some hands on items...but to answer you question, maybe 30 minutes a day, max on Foundations related things at home? For everything in general, when they were younger we spent less than 20 hours, my oldest is in CC Essentials now and I have 3 to homeschool so school takes us 3-4 hours.

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  ปีที่แล้ว

      We do use other curriculum - a separate math and language arts curriculum is needed in addition to CC and then we also sometimes choose to add other things like history.

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      CC has provided Bible memory work for those who want it. It’s not included in the Foundations Guide but it’s a free download on the CC website.

    Is there any grade or a proof that my kid done the curriculum? I'm interested and in the same time I concern it's not challenging enough for my son. What I like is my son will meet up with other kid.

    • @MyChocolateMoments
      @MyChocolateMoments  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The curriculum is a framework so as the parent you can add more work to it if you think it isn't challenging enough. The proof would be whatever documentation you keep for your states' guidelines as far as what is required.
