If I am stuck with a plant or shrimp related issue I just scroll through your videos and usually find the answer haha! Got a lot of binge watching to catch up on. I once looked over and saw my car batting my loach around the carpet. The little Houdini escaped through the gravel filer. Amazingly, after all that he lived for a few more weeks
I never thought it would be this satisfying to hear cory drop that REAL talk at the beginning hahah. Thanks for the capture of reginas room, I want some nanochromis from the bodrocks so bad !

hey Lucas...got another question on that under gravel filter...i am gonna use one for a shrimp tank (20L)....can I use eco-complete dirt with that filter or only gravel?...i wanna use whatever is best for shrimp.
FresH20 Tanks Hey fresh h20 I know I'm not Lucas but I used to use Ugf's all the time for many years. I tried a sand substrate with one tank and it was to fine, and clogged up the screen in the filter. Making it totally useless. The larger the grain of gravel the better. You want the water to pass through the gravel and through all that bacteria in your gravel. Back in the early 90's you used to be able to find lava rock at pet stores all the time and the chunks were the size of marbles. That stuff works amazing for under gravel filters because of all the surface area for the bacteria to grow. Also crushed coral works great. That's what is used when I kept African cichlids. Hope that helps. Cory at aquarium co-op has a video on ugf's you might want to check out.

Super rare oddball fish... so I'll show you them in an oddball way...out of the water. Don't they look better swimming? Do you know fishy CPR or something? Those fish couldn't have been breathing for much longer after you had them out for so damn long!
Lol its because of the type of fish they are. Wood cats stay hidin in the driftwood and the only way for us to really get a good look at them was to pull them out of the tank like that, which was cool of her to do. The fish are fine and were not harmed.
Wow- those are the fattest and near biggest Discus I've seen. Maybe biggest aquarium bred. See? If I try Discus ever again,its in a low light tank,few if any other dither fish. No community tanks with sand and intense light to grow thick plants. Those fish in that kind of tank are doomed. Woman do have a different take on fish keeping. Not many of the feeder goldfish buyers are woman if you get my drift. Regina is like the anti DIY..fish tanks are homes not filled to impress. What is DIY guy going to so with 50 Exodon in a 40 gallon?..lol..

They like to flop in the net and they get some hop height. Glad i had a card around to pick them up carefully.
