Usually they clean them in aquarium water just squeezing out the majority of the mulm but not completely.

What were those tetras in the display tank right at the very start of the video? Looked like a bleeding heart shape but with a red back....
L.R. Hoping you can help. I am bound and determined to keep Pseudomugil Paskai. Having issues with new arrivals dropping like flies in quarantine literally 1 per day. Its as if its from the sparring but females are dying as well with no visible signs of well anything. Are you still having luck with these fish>? I have just recently came across your channel in my search for answers.
More than likely bacterial infection if coming from import or farm. Try dosing the quarantine with general cure and tetracycline or erythomycin. I later found out my Paskai were actually luminatus but pretty much the same fish. Mayb a water parameter shock too from what they keep them in and what you keep them in....
They went through a nice long acclimation and they are a week in to quarantine so I ruled out parameters. I battled Callamanus worms in two tanks recently so all of my incoming fish get Levamisole in week 1 of quarantine and then gen cure/ick x/erythromycin in week 2. I recently purchased a group of 12 from a very reputable wholesaler through a LFS. They sent 8 male 4 female so they are sparring quite a bit. My Q-tank is bare bones sponge filter and HOB PH-7 0-NH and NO2 my public water has .25 NO3 off the bat so there is that. It seems as though the males are the ones dying off lost 3 males and 1 female so far. The Levamisole takes alot out of fish so I can see 1 or 2 from that but this is like they spar, get knocked down a ring in the hierarchy, spar again, get knocked down again, until they are the low male of the totem pole so to speak. Then they parish with no visible wounds from battle. I literally watched the death of a male yesterday from this exact process in less than an hour from him swimming happily. They go clearly submissive and do not flare back during this process, its so weird to watch. Have you had any similar experiences. By the way I also keep Furcata and Gurtrudea. As for the classification difference, in my hours of research I have found that the luminatis is from a different river system as the one the Paskai originally inhabited was destroyed my mining sediment. They are almost identical fish and without a microscope and a degree that I don't possess you would not know the difference.
Could be the aggression from the males since its you have 2m:1F ratio. They prefer trios 1m:2F. I would take all your females, since it sounds like you only have 3 now, and your best male and put them somewhere else and let the other males live together. Without the female your males should be less aggressive. Parameters can still affect fish long term due to liver and kidney failures...

The l333 at 10 mins into tge video. what fish is it because l333 have stripes and look like the false zebra pleco. These do not and I would really like to find what ever those are at my lfs
