    Hi Phillip. Thank you for taking the time to share this. People like you make TH-cam a better place! I have a 2009 Pontiac Vibe GT...looking for alternatives to the $1,400 CDN part quote provided by my mechanic.

      Glad it helped you. Note that there is a left and right sensor though.

      @@jiffytoast before you cut the new sensor make sure it fits into the knuckle as the ear for the mounting bolt may be opposite in which case you likely won't be able to make it work. Did you try looking up a Toyota Matrix? Is yours an AWD as well?

    Hey there, I’m currently in the same situation but without the check engine being on. It’s going on 3 weeks now, I went to get my car done by a mechanic my dad knows for an inspection. My lights were never on when the mechanic inspected it. Shortly after, I got my car back and I see that one of my stickers are up to date but not my safety inspection… I had to get new struts and a new bushing for which I had to go to him the next week. I took my Pontiac vibe 09 over to him to get replacements done for rear struts and new bushing. It took 3 whole days for my car to be done and to pass the safety inspection. after I get the call saying my car is done, he says there was a complication with putting my struts on…he told me that my abs wire sensors in the back needs replaced….i go over there to see what he means and look under the car to find out he cut the damn rear wire sensors in order to put my back struts in….rear wire sensors are very rare to come by and I for one won’t let any mechanic inspect my car again.

      @jaboibrodie1687 yes and not cheap if you find them. Can the wires be spliced?

    I have an 09 Vibe that has the flashing vsc, abs, check engine and traction control light on. It came on shortly after I had a flat tire replaced and the tires rotated. Could the abs sensor been damaged during that? Also, the lights periodically go off in their own, but come back on later, seemingly at random. Any ideas for me here?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you need to scan the ABS/Traction Control system for codes and go from there. I can't see a flat tire causing the issue but stranger things have happened.

      @@PhillipBailey I have a DTC reader and the only one it is showing is P0128 - my thermostat is not working right. Could that cause it?

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kevinshannon955 you need a full function scan tool to scan the ABS computer for codes. There are several smartphone based scanners that would work such as the Thinkdiag and Autel Maxiap200. The thermostat running cold code is not your problem but may cause the MIL to illuminate.

      there are dozens of possible causes for these warning lights to come on. You need to scan it for codes to start with.
