    I have abs light and brake light always on.

    Will it fix the problem, and is the wheel speed sensor in same area.

      If a part of the cable is cut or chipped, splicing/resoldering might work, although the conditions in the wheel well can be pretty rough so seal the splice up as well as possible. Heat shrink is a must.

    if you have small hands and bend the cover (inside and outside) a bit can can replace the cable without removeing al the covers.
    tape a rope to the connector and
    pull the cable from the inside to the outside.
    then use the rope to pull the new cable from the outside inwards.
    unfortunately swapping the sensors did not fix the bumpy braking for me (the two on the front were dead, two in the rear where ok)
    if I have bumpy braking (especially slow riding towards a traffic light) what else can it be? the abs module itself?
    If I disconnect the abs module it brakes much beter, not perfect, but much better.
    I ride a kia sportage 2006

      @@2carpros That is true, there's a reason why they put the connector in a less damaging environment. and splicing it together closer to the wheel is asking for trouble. bad wiring connections are one of the most common problems, there is on modern computerized vehicles. technicians are always tought to check the connections, as the first step in any procedure. but taking so much the vehicle apart isn't the answer, just put the connector in a decent location. I agree with you I will probably catch hell for this reply, because people don't realize how bad of an environment the undercarriage of a vehicle is especially in the winter. if the reason is to keep DIYers from doing the repair? these videos are proof that they are going to learn how to do it anyway.

      Agree. They just want more $ from you. Now, if warranty is still active and this is covered by warranty, then by all means have them do more work and get you all that new stuff in there.
      If you don’t have warranty, I suggest buying the ABS wheel speed sensor on rockauto.com
      The loco Kia dealer (yea, in Spanish this means “crazy” but sounds like I’m saying “local” lol) wants $147 + tax for the ABS wheel speed sensor for my 2013 optima.
      Bought it online:
      $39 for sensor
      $4.50 tax
      $25 next day shipping
      $68.50 total...and installed myself. Easy just like the video shows!
      BTW, rockauto sells the brand “Mando” which is a tier 1 manufacturer for Hyundai/Kia OEM parts. Hope this helps you and everyone else getting suckered into dealer pricing. 👍🏼

I know that it is already a pain to remove on my truck, just because you DO have to remove the front brake rotor to even get to the Allen head cap screw holding mine in place with means taking apart the front brakes just to get to it!!

    • @2carpros
      @2carpros  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should just be able to replace the sensor unless it is a really silly design. That is very low miles, you really shouldn't have any problems at this time. I would warranty it. If you just keep clearing the code the ABS might not work. Thanks for watching!

    • @musicauthority7828
      @musicauthority7828 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I were you I would get a second opinion, a Nissan Titan is a pickup truck and more than likely all wheel drive which could be a factor. but normally ABS sensors are remove able by themselves, and don't require a whole other component to be removed to change them. I would definitely seek a second opinion no doubt.

      @@2carpros I wondered that myself but didn't ask. no wonder why you had to remove so much of the interior panels. a Sportage is an SUV, on a regular passenger car it's possible that procedure, might be done from in the trunk compartment of the vehicle. requiring considerably less interior panels to be removed. something that I noticed that a lot of people in the comment section complained about including myself. which might be less of an issue on average passenger cars. that is a very good question that this particular veiwer brought up (thanks veiwer). and probably a question that I should have thought of much earlier in this comment section, instead of whining and complaining so much.

      When the ABS light comes on it's normally due do to a bad wheel sensor. in which case the computer basically turns off the ABS, allowing the brake system to be the same as a vehicle with not equipped ABS. which means the brakes can have a full lock up condition. but a check ABS light can also mean there are other issues with the ABS, that could lead to complete brake failure. the only way a person will know if it's a sensor is if the vehicle is connected to a scanner. so like with any check system lights, it's really wise to have the vehicle checked out and repaired.

    Easy enough if you're speed sensor isn't basically stuck in there.

    Wow I'm not impressed at all this gentleman said that this was a very difficult rear speed sensor to change I guess he's never dealt with the other half lives in Durham fKing rear drum! Thanks a lot for show me how to do something my grandchild could've showed me!

      @2carpros  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Very difficult for a speed sensor due to needing to take about the entire rear interior. Usually is a plug a short distance away. It's called context. There will always be things that humans do that are way harder. So we compare things to similar things to gauge difficulty. Sorry if that was lost on you. Thanks for watching!

    This is a perfect example of engineers that can't hit their ass with both hands. designing components for automobiles, that makes a simple procedure, such as R&Ring a simple component as a ABS sensor, turn into such a headache. that is beyond ridiculous to have to take so much of the car apart just to R&R an ABS sensor. perhaps maybe they should have to do the work, on their own handy work. (designs) then maybe we would see less of this stupidity. it doesn't make sense, I can see putting the connector in a better environment. but having to take so much of the vehicle apart to do the repair, is just plain stupid.

      That's modern automotive repair to be honest. These engineers are paid to make it cheap as possible to assemble not to work on sadly. Thanks for watching!

      It is usually easier. This is about as tough as it gets. This was a Kia Sportage from 2005 I believe. Thanks for watching!

      As I said in the video, this is about as hard as it gets. I'd rather show a hard one and you get an easy one than the other way around. Thanks for watching!
