I’m a carpenter and make alcove cabinets all the time as part of my business. Even though I’ve made hundreds of cabinets I always enjoy watching videos on how someone else makes them. Yours are not that different to mine although I use domino’s and confirmat screws to hold them together and pre-spray everything before assembly. Like you say, the key is making consistent cuts so the sides, base and tops are all exact to one another. I also watch all the guys you mentioned with Gid Joiner being my favourite as his journey from apprentice to time served carpenter is similar to mine. Good work sir.
Hi Andy - Thanks so much for your comment and watching my video. I’m very much a DIY’er but have always loved practical stuff and developing my carpentry skills. It’s particularly pleasing to receive a positive comment from a carpenter - I haven’t got enough projects to warrant using dominoes but I hadn’t come across ‘confirmat’ screws before so Thanks for sharing that. All the best….
Hi - I didn’t use a design tool as I’m probably not that clued up! I simply measured the space within each alcove, then did a pencilled scale drawing of what I wanted to achieve. I kept the cabinet measurements regular, eg 800mm, 400mm etc like commercially made units and played about till I got the right combination on each side. I think if I were a joiner or did this for a living I might try something like ‘sketch up’ or some such. Thanks for your comment and interest. I hope it helps with your build

Really appreciate you taking the time to film and share this. I'll be starting a similar job (for the first time) myself soon.
That’s great. I hope your build goes well. All the best...

Thanks - glad it helps. Also check out Peter Millard and Gid Joiner 👍
This is great. How did you plan the measurements out. Did you use a design tool?
