Mate I wouldn’t beat yourself up over it. We’ve all done it, and you don’t have to justify yourself with cleaning new brakes. If you know then you know. If people question stuff like that then they quite clearly not mechanically minded. Great work as always mate. 👍🏼

Strange you didn't get a code up for an open circuit on them sensors. Good shout on the Audi sensor with the corrosion, so many modern mechanics can only work from the book and not use a bit of logic to solve a simple wiring fault.

none of the vans i work on have "pad sensors" every oilchange requires all 4 wheels to be pulled and brakes checked... only high end vehicles have them. and it happens ive had my own van hit metal on metal but mine was caused by a fused slidepin (welcome to canada) no matter how much heat we ended up shearing off the top of the pin even though we nearly had the bracket redhot... quick run to the parts store and cannot buy the bracket alone but we ordered 2 new pins and bought a new bracket from a wrecking yard and rebuilt it.. things happen at least you addressed it quickly ive had vehicles come in or i went to that the pad was non existant and the backing plate was worn halfway though.. come work on some canadian vehciles and dont be surprised when half the car falls apart, i had a car come in where one fuel tank strap was half missing and the other was hanging on by about 1/4 of metal.. i have safety failed cars that are less then 10 years old due to ROT and yes i have the ability to prevent an owner from driving a vehicle away by seizing there number plates i hold a Motor Vehicle Inspection Station Licence... i am an ex ASE certified Tech aswel..
