Agreed, I disliked the fact that they had Tommy Lee Jones playing Two-Face, especially when Two-Face's alter ego, Harvey Dent, was played by Billy Dee Williams in the first 2 Batman movies
What if Tommy Lee Jones saved this 1995's Batman Forever and Tommy Lee Jones nailed Harvey Dent/Two Face and played Angry Ruthless Criminal Mastermind Two Face just like Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent/Two Face in Christopher Nolan's Batman New Dark Universe Movie 2008's Dark Knight and then Tommy Lee Jones saved Joel Schumacher's Batman's New Coloured Universe Movie 1995's Batman Forever just like Jim Carrey saved the Batman Forever Movie
Jim Carrey was a genius as The Riddler! I can't see anybody playing the character better than he did in that movie! If he was brilliant as The Riddler, I really feel Jim can do a brilliant voice of Dr. Eggman!
I love Carrey as The Riddler. Being the comic relief to this film, made him the best thing in a really shitty film. As for Jones, I'm really gutted. A wasted opportunity for a Batman villain, he was Joker-fied when TLJ could have been a really great Batman villain, a methodical one instead of a whacky one
Jim Carey as The Riddler was an appropriate choice What really got me was the fact that they originally wanted to get Robin Williams to play the role of The Riddler, but Robin wanted to play the character more like Frank Gorshin's version of The Riddler
I don't think so Jack Nicholson was pretty good in the first Batman movie and Heath Ledger was also pretty good as The Joker in "The Dark Knight" I don't think that having Jim Carey playing The Joker would be a good fit for him
yeah he could have and also would make a fun joker more like the animation version I think he would nail it and make it a laugh and insane just like he did for riddler! i love this :D
James Carrey is the greatest and funniest character as Edward nygma/riddler in Batman 3-Batman forever (1995) nearly 30 years back cool peace and blessings to you all.
+Bill Soon shit response, if Jim Carey were to play Joker instead of Riddler, he would alter his costume and acting. I think he's capable of playing a more complex character like Joker, especially now. He has come a long way since the Batman Forever era through films like The Truman Show, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Man on the Moon, etc.
Eh, I think Jim's niche is this Riddler. Goofy, flamboyant, but deceptively dangerous. With the Joker, there is no deception, he IS dangerous and looks the part. Even though the Joker is bright and colorful, everything he does is drenched in a dark flavor and twisted, demented notions. The Riddler is maniacal, intelligent and deceptive, while also having a bit of goofiness inserted. Jim is a lot better at putting up a guise of harmlessness, which the Riddler is known better for. Not a straight up psychopathic criminal like the Joker, but a plotter and a big-picture guy.
3:12 did anyone one else notice Michael Gough move the tray out the way when he fell over to stop the other actors opening the door and hitting the props? 🤔
Jim is the best thing about this very average movie - He was great as the riddler - "I'm coming my sweet, Like the jacket?? It keeps me safe when i'm jogging at night". That part always killed me
I like the riddler in this movie, but I just don't understand the spandex, I wouldn't mind if he wore a green jacket and trousers with question marks on it, but spandex just dosen't fit in with him for me.
My dad (RIP) said many years ago that portraying The Riddler was one of Jim Carrey's best performances of his career back then, not to mention that he was one of the highlights of the film. Even though I've read that Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones didn't get along while filming Batman Forever. And although I'm not taking anything away from Jim Carrey since he would have been the best choice to portray The Riddler in another time and place, but I would have to say that Robert Englund would have been the best choice to portray Edward Nigma/The Riddler if the Batman films of the 90s were made better.
Jim Carrey being a Gemini moon and playing the roles he does... the facial expressions, the "rubbery" body, literally playing a villain who absorbs others intellect?! Mercurial energy is strong with this one
This is how I enjoyed this movie. I was was with good friends, in a chill location. We smoked a ton of weed, and dropped acid.
