while intentionally goofy, i do feel like in some small moments that jim carrey can be very intimidating/threatening (mainly 3:27 to 3:42 i guess)
yep
He comes off as pretty intimidating at 4:41- 4:48
it was at that moment he knew he was a killer.
It’s the pause in the music that makes that part of the scene more tense
My Son was 7 when I took him to the theater to see this, he said Jim Carrey was very intimidating
I love how the dude threatens him and then fires him and it's like dude you're tied up and at his Mercy you're basically just aching him on to kill you even more now. 😂
Even as a kid I was like “dude! Shut up!”
He totally underestimated what Nygma was capable of.
This movie had a lot of problems, but honestly you can't fault Jim Carrey for any of it. He gave 100% based on the script and what the director wanted, even if those things were not what the Batman franchise needed. This role deserves a spot along side Ace Ventura and the Grinch as some of his best and most hilarious performances, even if the movie was mostly crap.
the hell you talking about, this was a classic. enjoyed every scene while growing up
I think almost everyone hardly fault Jim Carrey for script problems.
Don’t forget Dr. Robotnik.
Yep.
That's mostly why I give this film a pass. It's definitely flawed, but Jim Carrey is its strongest life saver
Not saying that Jim Carrey IS the Riddler, but his role as him will never be forgetton 😊
This is a movie that people love to hate. I just watched it again, yesterday, for the first time in maybe 20 years…and I still really enjoyed it. Every shot is beautiful. Great lighting and cinematography. Tommy lee was excellent. Jim was fun. This movie wasn’t meant to be taken in the same way as the first two. I think one of the main reasons why every seems to hate this film is because it lead to Batman and Robin…which was horrible
Agreed. This movie is a lot of fun
this is extremely corny and made my body tense and cringe at how overly lame it is. How the hell were movies like this back then? I was born in 1995 and luckily wasn't old enough to have this as my source of superhero movies. I can't imagine how bad it would be to have THIS be my source of superhero movies as an adult. It's so much better nowadays

He and Kilmer were the best parts of this movie
@@laurendaley2503 Of course.
I loved Jim Carrey as Riddler
Agree. .he is the only riddler..
Jim Carrey was a great Riddler. He was the only reason I wanted to see Batman Forever.
4:22 ooh, nice form, but a little rough on the landing, he may have to settle for the bronze
I’d always say this quote during the Olympics in both gymnastics and diving whenever an athlete sticks the landing.
@@LuisAlvarez-mr5wm brilliant 😂
There's a guileless simplicity to these 90's movies that I find charming.

Which one? This?
The Riddler in 1995: "Edward Nygma come on down! You're the next contestant on...braaaiiinnn draaiinn!"
The Riddler in 2022: "We live in a society!"
I love both versions I'm just saying they're vastly different.
Yah. The recent Riddler is just an incel.
"Surf's up big kahoona! *splash* Ooooh, nice form, little rough on the landing. He may have to settle for the Bronze." Hehe, luv that XD
Jim Carrey was an absolutely perfect riddler I wish he could come back and do it again
No, he wasn't. Watch TH-cam videos of the riddler in the game Batman: Arkham City if you want to see how the riddler should be portrayed. While the riddler is certainly flamboyant, it's not a defining characteristic to the extent it is for the joker. The riddler is a Psychopathic narcisisist who is determined to prove his intellectual superiority over batman by setting a riddle he will never solve.
@@jakepenfold8092 You do realize he was originally like this when the character was originally written? This is like saying a real Batman only wears black when the original wore Grey and Blue.
@@jakepenfold8092 thats right the adaptation is the real one even tho its not
I wish he could aswell, but he is getting old.
I agree but it would be more relevant back in the late 90s tho

To be fair, he had his moments, including non-whacky roles
No.. This is by får the worst Batman movie Ever Cos of Jim
I agree that this is the worst Batman movie, maybe second worst next to Batman and Robin, but it's not because of Jim. This movie had way too many problems for Carrey to be the headliner. I think Tommy Lee Jones was worse as Two Face. O'Donnell was dreadful.
Love seeing Jim Carey playing a villain, he is so awesome.
Yeah, he always makes great villains.
@@roberttreacy8271 makes me wish Jim Varney had played a bad guy at some point.

Honestly, this isn't even a bad device. It does no lasting damage, and people do far worse to themselves for bliss. Not only that, but the "wasted potential" is transmitted to someone else who could better use it anyways.
Right before the line "Why hasn't anybody put you in your place" Nigma had a lot of other questions for Bruce as he started tearing down the shrine to his soon to be former employer.
