Seed is becoming disturbingly more relevant each day with how it talks about prejudice and how hate is formed. hell even the technology is true to real life.

Anything can fly when you slap on a big enough engine)
Lacus's speech in the beginning of this episode is one of the greatest highlight of Seed universe, taught me about the futileness of war as a kid. Sure people hate on Jesus Yamato and how OP Freedom is but Seed is WAYYYY better than AGE in term of theme
The people that hate on SEED were either dipshit teens with a shallow IQ and that's all they remember about it or just people following the hate crowd w/o watching themselves and don't know any better or just hate for the sake of. I love it when they rewatch it again as adults and COMPLETELY change their tune. "Guys SEED was never bad. The only problem was your perspective," It has its flaws, and as much as like Kira, I am not oblivious to his comically hilarious OP-biased writing. With that said it was and still is a solid Gundam series. AGE, to me, sadly, is what I like to call "Gundam Trope BINGO". It does every Gundam Trope ever and the sad thing is - other than the Asemu arc - the other series do it better. It's a good starting point for newbies, especially those at a young age though. I just found AGE to be ULTRA GENERIC AF Now, SEED Destiny on the other hand... ... 🤮
I think that Jesus Yamato meme started because of his plot armor in GS: Destiny. If we are talking about seed, this is almost a perfect show IMO. The only thing that limit this series are the recycle scenes that occurred many times.
@@PlayerRed01 Recycled animation - especially used for mech series - is a go-to industry standard within the harsh rigors of the animation industry when pressed for time or to save time. There's no "artistic dishonor" in doing so as the old saying goes "Work smarter not harder." Especially when "time is money". I used to believe the same thing until I went to Art School and learned for myself "No one cares so long as you got the job done" This phrase applies to working jobs in general ;) On the subject of Kira though, I really wish they'd animate some kind of explanation of how he survives the Aegis explosion for viewers not familiar with the Astray manga, but, that's just my idealization
@@SH2K9 I know about recycle animations in anime but GS and GSD took it to another level. Fucking bravo 😭 A standing ovation. Years later, now 32, rewatching Seed and having watched most Gundam series prior years ago, even recent ones like 00, OBO, WfM. Nothing had me this invested in the characters so far besides OG Gundam Amuro and Char saga, even if Seed is the story retold (with some Zeta mixed in). The message told here does hit harder once you get older and understand what its trying to convey. While the dated animation by today's standards (but still decent remastered) and reused stock animations bring it down some, the memorable characters, drama, and the music sold it... my childhood :'( Whatever the other Gundam fans say, Seed is top tier Gundam imo While I'm sure Destiny after this is basically rehashed Seed and the characters butchered, still want to see the fates of the characters again and am sure as hell excited for the Seed Freedom movie coming out soon. Now to replay Akatsuki no Kuruma and tear up again before moving on to Seed Destiny

I am 45 years old from Indonesia. Just finished watching Gundam Seed for the first time at this date November 22, 2024 at 8.00 AM. I can say that this is one of the best animes ever. Shame on me for not watching it 20 years ago when I was in the college as I thought it was just another robot thing. Now I know why it was such a hype back then. I saw Seed posters and stuff on magazines and thought it was overblown. I even had a friend gave me a Seed T Shirt (still have it from 20 years ago). Now I stand corrected. I am big fan of Gundam Seed now, and will now collect its Gunpla and everything. Sorry for being late. But here I am.
Damn the ending for Gundam Seed is probably the best one out of all the Gundams that I have seen now that I have grown up since the first time I watched it. Something about it that just ticks every box for me.
Flays death is still one of the hardest hitting deaths in all of gundam history for me. Im not sure why i connected so dearly with kira, but this entire struggle of a show was one of the most emotional i ever felt beating IBO outright.
Same for me, i feel kira more human than the other's protagonist from AU (never watched UC). The other just have "i am a soldier so i don't have emotion" kinda vibe
It's a death that never ceases to hurt me when thinking about it. It's entirely due to her connection with Kira. I could never have expected them to develop such an intense and unique bond in the early episodes of the series.

I like Seed. Kira, Lacus, Athrun, Cagalli and the crew are my oshis
That eventually affected him all the way to SEED Freedom, because when the Black Knights used Kira's darkest memories to mind control him, it's all of his memories with Rau.
What Rau says to Kira is correct and Kira can’t even talk back. Also, Rau is a victim of Kira creation, A Clone and he not even a coordinator, he tried so hard to achieve what he does but overall he still can’t changed his own fate so he can see this world much clearer than others.
@@chaikagaz Rau is natural and he is a clone of Al Da Flaga (Mu La Flaga father). His piloting skills come from his own hard work and some inherited from Flaga family (ability to use DRAGOON system). Due to the side effects of the cloning process, he will die at a young age. no matter how hard he tries and he just can't change anything. that is why he believes he is the only one who has the right to judge both naturals and coordinators.

But anyway gundam seed storyboard is real masterpice. The message delivered in excellent ways and ost always on point. Nonetheless, even this remastered is a bit different i still can recall the old one.
Now this is tooo nostalgic. Miss my 12yro life. 😭😭😭

More than 20 years since this series, unfortunately it is only now that I realised the deep messages embedded within.
Back then as a kid, the message I understood was that the Coordinators were the 'bad people' who were the superior (race/type?) and the Naturals were just fighting back for their survival. As I rewatched the episodes, i began to realise that it is far from it.
Sadly, everybody loses in war.
flay really love kira. even though she used kira. this was one of my favourite scene in gundam universe. tragic but beautiful.
Sadly there is one problem about Flay that she has never apologize to Sai. And How the hell will we forgive her for that!
Sai got hurt because of that woman! 🤬
@RedCapBlockWell, her actions partially led to what happened to Shinn, and I will never EVER forgive her for this.
I watched SEED way back and honestly all I remember about it was how absolutely bonkers Rau was by the finale.
Well i mean, the guy was hella dissociating.

Rewatching this as an adult vs a teen back then.. ahhh so nostalgic. And it's now only that I truly understand its message and story. What a great series. Thank you Bandai! ❤
Gundam SEED felt more relevant with recent events in the world, with the central theme of hatred and superiority.
Spot on!
I'd say so. Compared to Rey Za Burrel, Rau knew why he was fighting. Rey on the other hand was kind of like Shinn. Confused and used
00: Told ya.
Seed is becoming disturbingly more relevant each day with how it talks about prejudice and how hate is formed. hell even the technology is true to real life.

Our teen years had ended, but not our love for this series 😢😢😢
These 48 episodes served as the best lead up to the ad at the end
What I love most about "the seed universe." It teaches you that so many people have "the answers" but non can solve "the problem". You just gotta let it solve itself and hope for the best.🙃
17:53 - Rau foreshadowing the events of Gundam SEED Destiny.
One of the best thing about gundam seed + seed destiny is their music (OP,ED,soundtract), especially lacus's song 😅
"Double I" (Invoke+Ignited) still my often play songs in my song lists until nowadays
I'm in Japan now. I visited Gundam in Odaiba a few days ago. I had to revisit the series. Excellent series.
Strike: destroyed by Dominion's Lohengrin
Buster: SURVIVED, heavily damaged by Providence
Duel: SURVIVED AND OPERATIONAL
Blitz: sliced in half by Strike
Aegis: self-destruct
Freedom: SURVIVED, sustained damage by Providence, all remaining accessories heavily damaged by GENESIS blast
Justice: self-destruct
Providence: impaled in cockpit by Freedom then vaporized by GENESIS's beam
Strike Rouge: SURVIVED, all accessories heavily damaged
Calamity: sliced in half by Justice METEOR
Forbidden: destroyed by Duel
Raider: destroyed by Duel-Buster combo
And yet it's only Freedom that got rebuilt in Destiny.
@@JeromeFelipe Strike Rouge got repaired and added the Ootori backpack, which has Freedom's railgun and red beam cannon, anti-ship sword, missiles, 2 gatling pods and wings for atmospheric flight.
Duel and Buster are already obsolete by the time of Jachin Due.
The atmospheric flight part is a big deal, because of all the machines listed, only Freedom, Justice, Forbidden and Raider can perform sustained atmospheric flight. All other either ride on Guuls, piggy back (Calamity) can only do short hops near the ground (Strike). Whereas in Destiny, except for Gaia, Abyss and BuCues, few machines fight on the ground.
(Given what Legend can do, we can only speculate that Providence can do atmospheric flight despite being not very aerodynamic. It has a nuclear powered core and OS like Freedom and Justice. Anything can fly when you slap on a big enough engine)
Justice was rebuilt as well
@@gyelamagneechavez not in destiny though, are you referring to one of the animes?
All Yzak's MS was survive in final(Duel + Freedom, At the begin Freedom had been planned as Yzark's MS)
Lacus's speech in the beginning of this episode is one of the greatest highlight of Seed universe, taught me about the futileness of war as a kid.
Sure people hate on Jesus Yamato and how OP Freedom is but Seed is WAYYYY better than AGE in term of theme
I agree. There's a reason why SEED was the most popular Gundam series.
The only problem was your perspective,"
It has its flaws, and as much as like Kira, I am not oblivious to his comically hilarious OP-biased writing.
I just found AGE to be ULTRA GENERIC AF
Now, SEED Destiny on the other hand...
...
I used to believe the same thing until I went to Art School and learned for myself "No one cares so long as you got the job done"
This phrase applies to working jobs in general ;)
On the subject of Kira though, I really wish they'd animate some kind of explanation of how he survives the Aegis explosion for viewers not familiar with the Astray manga, but, that's just my idealization
@@SH2K9 I know about recycle animations in anime but GS and GSD took it to another level. One example are grunts dying to the same animation over and over again while other shows have 3 or more death animation. BTW its just my opinion feel free to disregard it :)

oh yeah now that you point that out
This is not the first time we saw this happen,
I'm sure you saw the Universal Century series in the 0079 that zeon soldiers also did this same thing when Dozle ordered his troops to fall back
Fucking bravo 😭 A standing ovation.
While the dated animation by today's standards (but still decent remastered) and reused stock animations bring it down some, the memorable characters, drama, and the music sold it... my childhood :'(
Whatever the other Gundam fans say, Seed is top tier Gundam imo
While I'm sure Destiny after this is basically rehashed Seed and the characters butchered, still want to see the fates of the characters again and am sure as hell excited for the Seed Freedom movie coming out soon.
Now to replay Akatsuki no Kuruma and tear up again before moving on to Seed Destiny
I’m with you there, my friend. Very few Gundam series have this much character-driven appeal and emotional tension, and Gundam SEED exceeds at both. It’s probably in my top 3 favorite Gundam series of all time, if not THE top already.

Duel and buster were never seen again until freedom but drastically upgraded.

Rau's death smile was extremely satisfying, even though he "won" against Kira by using his logic, causing Kira to make him suffer
Pretty sure rau is a coordinator cause he pilots the prominence. Doubt naturals can pilot gundams except astray
@@chaikagaz Rau is natural and he is a clone of Al Da Flaga (Mu La Flaga father). His piloting skills come from his own hard work and some inherited from Flaga family (ability to use DRAGOON system). what he said to Kira is still 100% correct. You must understand why there is a war in the first place between natural and coordinator. And what Rau saying to Kira, there is no way to stop the war between the two nations, stop him here is meaningless because eventually both nations and everyone in the SEED universal will doom themselves. We flash forward to the SEED destiny and the story after SEED destiny, the war between the nations just getting bigger and there is no way to stopping of the war.
