    I came to this video only to learn what temperature and time to use to sublimate on a metal license plate. What a great video, well done, very thorough, no BS. I watched the whole thing and learned a lot. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I appreciate it. 😊

    You, do not have enough views!!!! I hope you see this, because you are showing what NO other crafter is showing. This is needed!!!

      Thank you! TH-cam ranks channels by how frequently you post videos and how many views. Time does not allow me to post as often as I would like. I'm happy that you enjoy my content please share my link to others that many benefit from it. Thank you for watching.

      @@PoppyHillDesigns I will most definitely share your videos. I wish there were more videos like this. I don’t think I have ever seen one and I have really needed it. I do sublimation, htv, rhinestones, designing, etc, but being able to get those measurements will make the project look better and go faster. You should keep at this as time allows! I get it. I have a farm that takes my time. I
      Have to grab my time when I can.

      @@glorialuciano4824 I use Photoshop CC 2022, it's a subscription based plan for $9.99/mo that gives me the latest versions of PhotoShop and Lightroom (for photography). You should be able to use this technique with any version of PhotoShop.

    Thank you for this video. I purchased this exact item from our local Dollar Tree yesterday, so I decided to try this same method. I followed your video exactly, but mine did not transfer. Laminating pouch matte side down, preheated, placed sublimation printed image face down and pressed for 60 seconds on 400 degrees with firm pressure. My image did not transfer. Is it possible the colors of the design image I chose are too light?

    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  ปีที่แล้ว

      Muted colors will come out light, but you should still be able to see them. Did you use the Scotch thermal pouches? If not it could be that the brand you are using does not have the qualities necessary for the sublimation process to work.

  • @Theresa914

    Great video, I just bought some Dollar tree metal and wondered if it would sublimate. I would like to spray paint white b4 adding the laminating pouch and then sub. Would that work?

    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I use Rust-oleum High Heat White spray paint, costs around $5.00 a can. I did another video using metal tags with different topping that may be of help to you, here's the link: th-cam.com/video/G5N1RUwFWGM/w-d-xo.html

    My laminating sheet developed lots of bubbles. Yours looks like it was sticky laying it down. Why is that? The product you have linked isn't sticky. Please advise, thanks!

    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use the 3M brand, they are not sticky and have had really good results from it. Make sure you are placing the rough side of the sheet against the metal and apply heavy pressure.

    Do you know if this would work with infusible ink? I saw a video explaining how to use infusible ink by painting a poly? something on it then applying the infusible ink. I can't find the video anywhere. Just wondering if the laminate would work the same way.

    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't used infusible ink so I don't know if it would work or not. Maybe ask on one of the Cricut groups, they might have the answer or point you in the right direction to find it.

    Great video! Is it possible to sublimate to a more three dimensional surface, like a steel dvd case, and have the image go around the corners

    • @PoppyHillDesigns
      @PoppyHillDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so. The heat press needs to press the image firmly to the top, and wouldn't be able to press the sides.

    PLEASE consider doing a voice over on this vid. We can barely hear you. YT volume 100%, laptop volume 100%, no TV or any background noise in the room, yet your voice is nearly inaudible. Your project looks super cute, I've often wondered how I could use metal in my craft and I still do not know. So, please, please, please redo it. Thank you!
