I live in Eastern Kentucky and our area wasn't affected by the tornados. It's heartbreaking to see the devastation that hit the other end of our state. It will take years to recover, no doubt. Our area schools started a chain of schools in Eastern Kentucky collecting donations called #StuffTheBus. Just days before Christmas, a whole caravan of buses, vans, and tractor trailers full of Christmas presents, coats and gloves, clothing, bottled water, personal items, etc, were delivered to these areas. It felt good to have donated. These people need all the help they can get!!! Ron, thanks for bringing Western Kentucky to the attention of your viewers! The cemetery looked untouched by the damage around it. Love the statues that this man created!!!
Your compassion for these people you've never met is such a tribute to your kindness and warm heart. Thank you for pointing out the devastation they're going through. We who are so lucky to have not been affected do need to help if we can. Blessings.
Welcome to our county. We will recover and we've had help from a over. Thank you for putting the word out for more help . You've only touched on the destruction. There's several more towns destroyed near here. F4 tornado I cry every time I drive through town. My husband is deputy coroner in mayfield and it was horrible the first few days after it hit. Its been amazing how people have helped with groceries, money,Supplies, etc. Thousands and thousands of meals provided and still being done. Safe travels and again thank you for the visit.
Not meaning any offence or disrespect but doesn't Central Govt. have a pot of money put aside for such disasters, considering the US is so prone to Tornadoes. Even though you've had immediate help what happens to all the poeple's homes? Do they get rebuilt via insurance or what happens?
@@gracelove886 fema has been here and helped tremendously. A good deal of the homes in town around the hardest hit area were rental homes. There were alot of HUD approved so that may Qualify for more federal help I'm not sure. Many hee have already started rebuilding and insurance has either been a help or for some a hindrance. I've heard several say because the replacement cost on vehicles is so high they are not giving the replacement covrage they paid premiums for. I read yesterday fema is bringing campers and mobile homes in for temporary housing until mire can be rebuilt.
@@Kphotog - sounds like you are getting the deserved help, so the Tornado must have been epic. We've had the odd tornado here but more a freak weather and nothing like yours. A lot of your houses in some states seem to be more wood based. That's unheard of over here unless it's for a garden shed
We had a tornado destroy or home and farm in July 1995. Tornado came from no where, it was a hot muggy evening at 7:45 pm no storms in the area, and we got hit. We where the only farm or house hit in the area.Things from our attic ended up in the Quade Cities on the Iowa side. Its about 45 minutes drive east from us. Its so devastating, everything gone, nothing could be saved. We where all unharmed, thank God!. Anything you can do for these People I'm sure will be grately appreciated. I know it took us months and months to dig out ,and over a year to rebuild our home, barn, garage, machine shed, grain bins and livestock. So any help you can give these poor people along with prayers I'm sure would be tragedy appreciated. And the fact it was just before Christmas. There are just no words. Prayers and Safe keeping to these poor people.
When the tornado hit Stockton, Missouri, the one thing that I will never forget is how hard it hit the city cemetery. Stockton is a very small town and it almost totally wiped out the buildings on the square but when I was finally able to get to the east side of town, where the cemetery is, I just couldn't believe how many tombstones were knocked over and nearly all the beautiful big trees were either broken over or completely ripped from their roots. These folks in Kentucky certainly need our support during this time when they are attempting to put their lives back together! Let's help them any way we can.
Im from here. Thankfully this cemetary hes at only lost trees and fencing. I only saw a couple stones harmed. We had another cemetary in that area that had a little damage to a few of the moseleums but not to bad.
Thank you so much for coming to Mayfield KY. I lived in the area for 17 years. They need so much more help. The EF-4 tornado passed 15 miles south of my son and DIL and 15 miles north of my parents. I thank God that he spared them. I have always thought this gravesite was so interesting.
This is absolutely positively sad to see an town destroyed by an tornado! I grew in West Texas on Tornado Alley and I have gone through alot of Tornadoes! We had one that destroyed my home town One Sunday morning it destroyed everything in it's path it even destroyed the church but didn't turn the page in the Bible where the preacher was preaching from!
How awful to see the devastation left behind, those poor people and families. My thoughts are with them all. I really wish I had the money to donate to help them rebuild, what u do Ron is inspiring and for spreading the word on this tradegy is admirable. Bless you from the 🇬🇧
Ron, it was so obvious that you were truly shaken by the destruction you saw in Mayfield. Such compassion for those you don't even know is rare these days. Thanks for giving us a look at what those folks are dealing with. God Bless! I'm most definitely making a donation.
I love in Middle TN outside of Nashville. That storm woke us up at 3 am. We watched the weather report wondering if we should take shelter. Luckily it passed over but did hit some counties west of here. There was damage and a few people died, but nothing like the destruction in Mayfield, surrounding areas, and Bowling Green Ky. My familial roots are in Western Ky. I had no idea it was such a historical town until the reports after the tornado happened. Thanks for the tour of the graves. This town will never be the same, thanks for showing people how bad it was, lending support and providing info so others can do the same.❤️🙏🌄
I lived in Sumner county north of Nashville for 20 years before moving to South Carolina 2 years ago. My wife grew up in White House TN. My father in law still lives in White House TN. He was woken up by the storms of December 9th.
@@Eaglefly-er7do Oh, cool, White House. Yes, that storm was widespread. I had the windows open that day, it was unseasonably warm for most of December in these parts
I remember when this hit last month. They got hit hard. It makes me think of my hometown of Moore, Oklahoma. It takes awhile to rebuild and it never will be quite the same. I like that Wooldridge plot area in the cemetery. I have never seen nor heard of this before. It's a beautiful piece of art.
it was haunting, let me tell you, like frozen in time they all were....like the people who all turned to salt, or actually like they looked at medussa.
Samburg, TN and many other towns were also decimated in this tornado outbreak I watch Jackie of Blessed Beyond Measure youtube channel who lives in Samburg. She and her community lost their homes also as well as several people. If anyone enjoys or knows anyone who enjoys doing diy decor projects, jump on over there, give her some love and watch her journey back from the disaster she, her family and community went through. I'm sure they can still use donations. Thank you Ron for reminding us that these people are still coping with what happened.
This is just a couple hours south of where I live. This was huge news when it happened. It was the longest continuous tornado in history. It was on the ground for over 220 miles. Lots of relief drives have been done here and many groups have been going down to help. The candle factory had like 75 workers and over 40 died when it collapsed. Absolutely horrible! Also it came out that the workers were told an hour before the tornado that if they left early they would be fired. I don't know if that's true but if so how terribly awful.
I read that too from a legitimate news source I can’t remember. Apparently Amazon did about the same thing in their Edwardsville IL during the same tornado. Very sad.
Oh man Ron this one hits me pretty close. First of all let's all pray 🙏 for the families of Mayfield KY. Thoughts and prayers to them from the December 9th tornados. I have been to Mayfield a few times while I was living in Nashville. Mayfield is only 2 hours north west of Nashville. It has such a beautiful town square which sustained a lot of damage. I have seen the Woodbridge Monuments before. They are fascinating to look at. A while back those monuments sustained some damage from a ice storm. I was wondering if the December 9th tornados damaged the Woodbridge Monument. Looks like the cemetery didn't get any damage from the tornados. I seen the images of the distruction on TV. Ron I can't imagine to see how the town of Mayfield looks like now I person. I just want to remember seeing it when my wife and I would go there. Please lets help the people of Mayfield. Ron I hope that you have safe travels on your south east. Keep up the good work 👍.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all in Mayfield Kentucky and too all that lost their lives. The statue’s we’re amazing just loved the one we’re he is sitting on his horse. Thanks Ron and please be careful
Right now I live in Bonnieville, Ky which is quite a few miles north and I'll never forget that night. Even where I live it rumbled and rumbled. It seemed to go on forever. Mayview was absolute destruction just like Joplin in 2011. An F5 is truly terrifying. I went through one of those in 2007. It sucks the air out of your lungs. Truly awful.
So sad. This was a terrible tornado. What a terrible state they are in. Been over a month now and it's going to take sometime to get so normalcy back. I never even thought of the cemetery being hit. Thank you Ron for doing this video. What an amazing sight those statues of those people.God bless.
Samaritans Purse also is there helping rebuild. You can donate through them. They always go immediately to the places that are devastated by hurricanes, tornadoes and such. A great organization.
@GrandmaRM Two years down the road I can report that Samaritans Purse has built.a little community on the outskirts of town. All houses are totally paid for, fully furnished, and stocked with dishes, food, etc.All the recipients have to do is move in.A really great accomplishment! I cannot sing their praises loud enough. Salvation Army too. Amazing people.
I remember seeing the initial news coverage following this tragedy but I simply went on with my own life from then like out of sight out of mind right.. but the communities affected are still living their nightmare 😔 thank you for this jolting reminder Ron ❤️
It was all over the news. They wouldn't let the employees leave the candle factory, and people died. The survivors are suing that company. Biden went there last month, and he's supposed to provide aid. What you see looks better than it did. Several tornadoes came through Mayfield, and the devastation is just awful. I'm sorry you didn't know about this. You have a good heart, Ron.
Hi Ron and gang, the Colonel is in the house, peace, love and happiness to all, this reminds me of the total devastation from several tornadoes in Omaha Neb, and Council Bluffs, Iowa, I saw several water spouts on the ole Missouri river, i was 16 years, work ground clean-up with a man A.P. Clark he was 76 years old and climb trees like a natural born monkey, he was poetry in motion. i have lived this and my prayers are already with them, and with the gang, May 1975...
Prayers for the people of Mayfield. God bless you for bringing their plight to our attention. Your professionalism amongst the devastation is admirable. As they say, the show must go on. Thank you for the information on how we can help.
This is moments away from where I live. The night was full of tornado sirens and cell phone alerts. We are thankfully ok, but we know many who lost everything as the tornado went through Marshall County and KY lake area. Amongst the devastation are also stories of resilience and kindness. I encourage everyone to look up the man with his piano and the man who felt the need to help so deeply he drove into town with his grill and all the food he could carry. He just started cooking and wouldn't stop until he ran out. Thank you for bringing renewed interest to the area and all of your help.
Heartbreaking scene ron so sad what am looking at young life's lost they will rebuild 🙏🏻 if there's one thing human's are resilient they bounce back cant begin to understand what these poor ppl are going through sending heartfelt love godbless each and everyone of them...😢
I saw the devastation of Mayfield on an Aussie news channel. It was all over the news. How terrible, and that lives were lost. 🙏. I've never seen anything like those statues at the cemetery Ron. They are beautiful. Safe travels.
i live in Hopkinsville , Ky. my son and his family lost their home in Pembroke that terrible day. no one lost their lives here, for which I will forever be thankful. Mayfield was close to my grand parents homes . We were frequent visitors there when I was young. The tornado made national headlines for a few days , but the recovery will take years.i will never forget and my prayers continue for that town and those who were changed forever on that terrible day.
You are such a wonderful man. Your love of humanity is truly inspiring. The Mayfield tornadoes were the worst ones to ever hit our state and we lost 74 Kentuckians that night. Soon after the area was hit by flooding that damaged a lot of the reconstruction work there. Nearly nine months later people are still homeless. This was an unusual man who wanted to have all the things he loved remembered after his death. I dare say this is rarely if ever done here in the USA. What a sight to behold. I am glad the tornadoes did not damage them. At least something was spared. Thank you so much for your compassion and the help you have offered for the people there. I did not see it in person, but this video showed us a piece of the devastation. My home state will never forget this day, six states were hit by these tornadoes, it was terrible.
I watched that tornado, that actually started in Southern Missouri, rip through Arkansas, Kentucky and on East, at the time it was happening. Another great TH-cam channel - nothing but weather. Sickening memories of utter destruction, for miles. That channel saved lives that night, no doubt in my mind.

#KentuckyStrong 🙏💙🙏 My husband's cousin and his wife had just moved to Mayfield. They were driving and it was dark when the tornado hit. They tried to outrun it in their van, but it picked them up and threw them. They both survived and are going to be fine.
The devastation is incredible. We can hear it in your voice how truly upsetting this is to you. I hope people get to see this video, this was almost 2 months ago and it’s still so surreal. I’m praying for all those affected and to the families of love ones lost. 🥰❤️🙏🏻❤️🩹

I can certainly see you are quite disturbed and deeply compassionate for the town as you see it in shatters. It was reported quite a bit on the television I’m surprised you didn’t know about it. I am surprised the cemetery and the monuments weren’t impacted. Be safe Ron.
Wow. It’s stunningly beautiful! He gave so much love to so many ! Thanks so much too for setting up funds for the tornado victims. It’s so easy to quickly forget how much those folks need help still in our fast moving news flashes that get forgotten way too fast from one day to the next.
What a beautiful and sweet tribute to his family. Have alot of family in Kentucky. And we were all holding are breath. Lucky, none of them were hit. My heart goes out to my Kentucky.
My Son-in -Law is the minister at a church in downtown Mayfield. He and our daughter took shelter in the basement of the church. When they emerged, the upper part of the church was gone.
It was so sad. I couldn’t sleep for several nights weeping over baby Oaklynn and her parents. They did all the right things to keep her safe and secure, but ultimately her damage was too much. The cemetery you visited in Mayfield, the stone figures facing east, beautiful. Take care Ron.
Thank you from Kentucky. I'm sure you have done the research on this tornado by the time this is on the channel, but it left an entire town in shambles. Again thank for for getting the word out to help them.
I did find the GoFundMe page for Mayfield and donated a bit only because I felt so grateful. I have a roof over my head and those poor people have some struggles to face. God Bless them all. Lives lost, so sad.
I am so glad the Wooldridge Monuments are intact. I've been to Maplewood Cemetery twice doing genealogy research, and I always loved seeing them. I haven't gotten to visit in years.
Thank you for bringing light to the pain in the town of Mayfield, KY. I know a lady from Mayfield who grew up there. Our community gathered enough supplies, clothes, etc to fill 2 Uhaul trucks to send with her back to Mayfield. That was a month ago & we plan to do it again May.
I have to say God bless you you are such a sweet caring person that is a rarity today God bless you and keep being a sweet person that you are you're a fantastic person a very caring person
I saw this on the news(which I never watch) and the devastation was horrific. Prayers are going up for these poor people. I am going to make a donation. Your compassion and your huge heart is so inspiring Ron.
I am so glad, so grateful that you made this stop in Mayfield! The Wooldridge Monuments are long-renowned here…and I have wondered whether the recent devastating tornadoes destroyed them! I still have my home in Murray, KY., and we know Mayfield so well. Still can’t wrap my head around the loss. But Kentuckians are STRONG PEOPLE.
Oh my that's just utter devastation. I'd of never known. There need to be more relief efforts!! Thank you for your help and compassion ❤️ you're an amazing person!! Those sculptures are just eerily beautiful.
As hard as it is for you to be there it seems that you were called to go. You're helping them now by getting the word out for donations. That was an incredible display at the cemetery. A very talented man. I was wondering where his family is laid to rest. God Bless!
Hey gang..oh wow. You’re in KY. Where my family are from. I wasn’t born there but my siblings were. Our family reunions are hilariously funny and southern people are truly there for one another and band together when needed. Raised Baptist and some only have their faith, which to them is enough. Our cousin has been researching our tree. We are related to Daniel Boone. We lost a friend to this storm. Although I didn’t know him. My cousins went to help out the minute it was over. Bless you Ron! Tornadoes may be a part of their lives, but their hearts are stubborn. They stay and rebuild. 💔🕊♥️
This has been on my list. I didn’t know if there had been any damage because of the bad tornadoes in that town. Thanks so much for showing this, Ron. And thanks for showing the devastation that occurred to my neighbors in my home state.
I can't understand it looking at those homes then looking at those statues, trees, even fences and headstones. The Westcoast has many issues, but mild weather so I have no understanding of tornado landscape and devastating damage. My heart is definitely with them.
I'm glad this round of storms missed the cemetery. In the 2009 ice storm those statues got damaged. You could see where the ears on the dear statue are still missing. The main guy on the tallest pedestal got knocked off of it. The heads were knocked off of the horse and rider as well. They repaired them afterwards, of course. They're a big landmark in this little town 😊 I love walking through that cemetery
@@bloodymary693 Ohhh Geez *embarrassed* It truly hadn't occurred to me the statues have had such recent work done (recent compared to statue life.) Ours are mostly copper and bronze here because of the nearly 9 months of rain 😅 such as The Portlandia and The Elk Fountain.

So sad. I feel so bad for those people. I know the LDS church sent a lot of money to help those people. I gave some to my bishop. Have a good day Ron
You are a good man. May God bless you in abundance. Lots of Prayers from me in the UK.
Very well said. 👏👏
Take care Ron. You have a big heart. 💕Prayers for the people of this town!🙏
I'm praying and you are the sweetest kindest soul!! God bless them all 💖

A very beautiful monument, and i hope the people there can recover from that terrible storm.
Wow so sorry to hear this prayers for all those people and the families
I saw the devastation of Mayfield on an Aussie news channel. It was all over the news. How terrible, and that lives were lost. 🙏. I've never seen anything like those statues at the cemetery Ron. They are beautiful. Safe travels.
I love your channel. You are always a good storyteller. Thanks for all you do. Take care
i live in Hopkinsville , Ky. my son and his family lost their home in Pembroke that terrible day. no one lost their lives here, for which I will forever be thankful. Mayfield was close to my grand parents homes . We were frequent visitors there when I was young. The tornado made national headlines for a few days , but the recovery will take years.i will never forget and my prayers continue for that town and those who were changed forever on that terrible day.
🙏🙏🙏
It was a horrible tornado. So many people have nothing. Thank you for sharing.
You are such a compassionate man. I live in Nashville )close to where this town was destroyed) and lived in Nola during Katrina. Thank you
You are such a wonderful man.
The fact that you did hurricane relief efforts in the aftermath of Katrina...I love you so much for being such a wonderful man. 💗👏
I live in East Central Iowa and saw this devastation all over the news and on FB posts. Such a tragedy. Prayers for the people in that town.🙏
Horrible horrible situation Ron.. Thank You For Reaching Out.. I’m Weeping 😭Thank you For Giving A Huge Donation.. Prayers🙏🏻✌🏻🙏🏻for This Community!! So Many NEEDS.. ((of Lord Please May Their Needs Be Met🙏🏻💕✌🏻)).
I have already been there twice to help! it's awful! help is coming in! but it's a slow-going recovery!
the devistation in Mayfield KY is a nightmare for many. my heart and prayers go out to all. i wish i could help financially as well . the procession was a great story still. tysm . be safe in your travels Ron
Your video is much more realistic than what was on the news. I can only imagine how hard that was to see.
The citizens of Mayfield need our help.
#KentuckyStrong 🙏💙🙏 My husband's cousin and his wife had just moved to Mayfield. They were driving and it was dark when the tornado hit. They tried to outrun it in their van, but it picked them up and threw them. They both survived and are going to be fine.
Thank goodness they lived. Hoping that there were no life changing injuries for them. God Bless.
The devastation is incredible. We can hear it in your voice how truly upsetting this is to you. I hope people get to see this video, this was almost 2 months ago and it’s still so surreal. I’m praying for all those affected and to the families of love ones lost. 🥰❤️🙏🏻❤️🩹
it's so sad when things like this happen but it's mother nature at it's worst also how devastating for the people and Ron your an amazing person wanting to help them and I will help where I can you've got my full support on this
You are such a good man, with a big heart. This is so devastating to see. 🙏
Prayers for the people of Mayfield🙏 I cannot imagine what they are going through. I want to help. Thank you for you caring and compassion Ron💜❤
I can certainly see you are quite disturbed and deeply compassionate for the town as you see it in shatters. It was reported quite a bit on the television I’m surprised you didn’t know about it. I am surprised the cemetery and the monuments weren’t impacted. Be safe Ron.
That's a really interesting gravesite I think it's a wonderful idea that he commemorated all the people and animals who meant so much to him in life.
This is so sad
The Gravesite is
Very Interesting !
Hope the people
From Mayfield KY
Get the Help They Need !”
Prayers to All 🙏
And God Bless You Sir “
My Son-in -Law is the minister at a church in downtown Mayfield. He and our daughter took shelter in the basement of the church. When they emerged, the upper part of the church was gone.
Despite being affected by the devastation, you continued on.Thankyou Ron for your steadfastness please stay safe yourself,👏👏👏👏👍🇦🇺
Way to go Catherine!!
Yeah, I heard about it on the news. I don't blame you for not watching any more! My brain tunes alot of it out! God bless these people! Thanks Ron!
You Truely are Amazing Ron
Your heart is huge and your video is bringing attention to the tornado victims. Seeing this from your car is amazing
It's amazing, nothing untouched but that cemetery, Ron
I am so glad the Wooldridge Monuments are intact. I've been to Maplewood Cemetery twice doing genealogy research, and I always loved seeing them. I haven't gotten to visit in years.
Praying for Mayfield. Thanks Ron for your all that you do. Your an awesome man. A true disciple of our God.
Thank you for bringing light to the pain in the town of Mayfield, KY. I know a lady from Mayfield who grew up there. Our community gathered enough supplies, clothes, etc to fill 2 Uhaul trucks to send with her back to Mayfield. That was a month ago & we plan to do it again May.
we have your back!!
I have to say God bless you you are such a sweet caring person that is a rarity today God bless you and keep being a sweet person that you are you're a fantastic person a very caring person
😇💯💜💙💚💛🧡❤
hey ron!! you have the biggest heart, and and compassion for people!! that were effected by the tornado!!! we love you ron!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I saw this on the news(which I never watch) and the devastation was horrific. Prayers are going up for these poor people. I am going to make a donation. Your compassion and your huge heart is so inspiring Ron.
So sad to see such devastation from the weather, it shows how strong and quick to destroy the weather can be. Stay safe everyone.
Prayers for Mayfield KY 🙏🙏🙏
You're so respectful. It's amazing the tornado didn't distroy and monuments at the cemetery.
God bless those poor people. Hope there on their way to recovery. Prayers. Thank you for your kindness.
Oh my that's just utter devastation. I'd of never known. There need to be more relief efforts!! Thank you for your help and compassion ❤️ you're an amazing person!! Those sculptures are just eerily beautiful.
Really cool monument he built for his family. So interesting. Thank you Ron ( prayers for you .)
As hard as it is for you to be there it seems that you were called to go. You're helping them now by getting the word out for donations. That was an incredible display at the cemetery. A very talented man. I was wondering where his family is laid to rest. God Bless!
Ron you are a very kind man with a big heart.
The procession is remarkable its really incredible that someone's resting place is so beautiful thanks so much take care
The compassion you showed for the people in Mayfield is so you thanks Ron.May god bless the citizens of Mayfield.🙏🏻🇺🇸👮🏻♂️
Interesting that the tornadoes didn’t hit the cemetery, so close to the homes.
I was thinking the same thing . much love to everyone involved from England UK
Devastating. Praying for them. Ron, you have such a big heart. Blessings to you and your family. Stay well and safe.
So sad! Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
God bless you Ron! Withouth doubt it is quite difficult to set mindset on the video, while the sorroundings are devastated. Greetings from Uruguay!
