Lovely day there ,forgotten what blue skies are in the U.K. ,just overcast all the while 😕..This has always been a beautiful cemetery ,I love all the photographs and thanks Deb for putting their story up too it helps to think of them as people and not just Graves..Thanks for taking us around with you and Brittan I really have missed these walks, they are so calming and peaceful..Love n Light 🥰
17:16 Elizabeth Isabella Calfa, parents were Nicholas Calfa and Angelina Cesaro. Elizabeth was born in Chicago 11 Nov 1910, her parents both born in Italy, she had 4 sisters and 4 brothers. That's all I found on her..Great video, miss those walking tours at Mt. Carmel..As always Ron, take care wherever your travels may lead you - Trish 😊💛
Ohh the find a grave memorial misspelled the last name, I sent in an edit to have it corrected, Calfa. I forgot to mention that on Elizabeth Calfa's birth record they have Isabella Elizabeth Calfa.
My parents grew up on Taylor street & their parents come from Italy right Taylor street in Chicago. Our family still have our family home on Carpenter & Taylor street it’s been in our family for 125 years I love it good memories good memories 😊
There are endless stories in this cemetery. I've loved this place since I was a little kid. Went there to visit family almost weekly with my parents growing up. I remember the episode you did when that nice girl let you inside her families mausoleum. That was interesting. I never get tired of this place. It's a gem and a rarity from the modern cemeteries of today. Ron, you are only an amateur because that's as far as you are letting yourself go. However, I say you could be a Hollywood producer right up there with the best of them! I love the stones that have the covered pictures. It preserves them so well. Thanks to Deb for doing such a great job putting stories to these faces. She's incredibly! Yes, I remember the classy days because I was born at the tail end of that era and raised in an Italian family that clung to their traditions. Carmen is a woman's name, and the male version of that is Carmelo. I had both in my family. Italians seem to use the same names through generations to come. Thanks for the great walk, Ron and Brittan. Chicago and it's suburbs have the best cemeteries I think!
Hi Ron... beautiful cemetery loved all the old photos and the headstones...sad people passed so young....the stories were very interesting to learn a bit about them....thanks to Britian and Deb also.... take care........ Deborah 🇨🇦
You two are a blessing to these people. You live rich full lives, but you always take time out of your lives to make sure these people aren’t forgotten. I pray that these people welcome you with open arms in the grace and light of heaven. May you always be blessed.
Hey Deb, it was that the rubber tubing from bottle to nipple was not able to be cleaned easily. Allowing bacteria to grow, and cause poisoning of the child.
Correct. It led to the deaths of many children around the turn of the century. The reason I thought it might be what led to the child’s death here was that she was a twin. I would think using some type of bottle would be helpful for a mother of twins. Can’t prove that’s what happened, but it made me question the possibility.
It's so good seeing you both. I love the porcelain photos! The stories about them are fascinating. The young children and babies who have passed are especially sad. I want a porcelain picture on my gravestone. Maybe one when I was 30, after all, they say that's the age we are in heaven. Thanks so much!
Amazing walk and storytelling. So informative and descriptive. Whoever did the research is so appreciated. I just loved the porcelains and never saw so many. Beautiful tribute! Thank you Ron😊
Ron, that was a beautiful video! Thank you all for taking us thru this peaceful place. I'm working, and I do insurance customer service.....and it's open enrollment.....so, I needed this. Be safe out there and have a wonderful weekend!!
Hi there ron .Brittan it good to see him a again it a great looking cemetery guys its been . So ron .Brittan. Deb Thank you guys for a great story and video work . Ron be safe in your travels mate
Hi, Ron! Thanks to you, Brittan and Deb for sharing the history of these long forgotten souls. The young man who passed in 1919 could be a WWI solider or a victim of the Spanish Influenza. You have to wonder how and why so many people died young back in the day.
Hi Ron! hi Brittan! nice to see you again Brittan. Nice video, it's sad that so many adults and children died so young. It's good to see you guys out there together. I enjoyed the video. Take care guys.
Loved this look and stroll at Mt Carmel with you and Brittan ❤ Fascinating to see the pictures and background of these departed souls. Thank you so much for taking us with Ron!!
I love doing what you are doing and I have done here on high street in Circleville ohio the head stones were remove and thrown Iverson the bank unto the creek and there are some old Ines there
The first porcelain with the revolving cover - beautiful. Murder bottles ... jeez whiz. I'll read up on that - what a horrible and useless way to die. This was an interesting walk - as always. There's always something new! Have a nice day. 🙂
Interesting video again, been on vacation to Italy twice the Mafia was still active in those areas when you have dinner in a pizzeria were the waiters walk around with guns in there belts you dont complain about the food eh, and a bit off "protection"stuff going on aswel, our hotel was closed they did not pay, never a dull moment on vacation lol.
Always love watching you Ron and Brittan going thru the cemeteries and sharing stories. Reminds me of when I first started watching your videos years ago my friend!❤😊
Hi guys, I just love the porcelain pictures on the tombstones. We don't have anything like it in NJ. (As far as I know) Was this a practice in the mid west or in other areas too? Very interesting..
When I was a young teen we use to go ghost hunting. We had a favorite spot to take girls to and scare them. It was a small church cemetery. One of the gravestones was really weird. We would go at dusk or after dark. When you walked up on the grave , the headstone looked like it had a large flower in a pot. When you shined your flash light on it the flower changed to a devil face. Horns goat tee and all. I always wondered if it was intentional.
15:00 - Just a theory/thought; seeing that death of baby (Carmen) & mother (Concetta) were within a _few months_ of one another,...with baby passing in April, & mom,...in September, dare I suggest, the...."taboo word" of *SUE* , *ASIDE* ...for Concetta...!?!

"Salamo" is an Italian saying, it means "isolation until they die, death being certain.” The sickness of deep sleep
It was also the widow’s last name when she remarried
@@kywy1984That's confusing, I couldn't find any information saying he was ever married. Could you tell me your source of info?
@@StevenG222 it was her maiden name, not her name when she remarried. According to Ancestry Frank was married to Dominica Salamo.
Thanks, I couldn't find it on Ancestry when I looked again, but I did on Find a Grave! Appreciate the info..

You can buy porcelains for tombstones. My parents purchased their stone and will have a porcelain
if you go to an Italian cemetery there, you will find the pictures.
Will the holographs scare the ghosts?
