Desecration of graves is beyond comprehension for me. Even worse, a beautiful child’s grave. Our history is being destroyed by what I can only imagine are inhuman demons. RIP Nannie.

It's wonderful that once the last buyer realized what he had he returned her to her rightful place. Also, the woman who originally bought the statue came forward as well. They knew she belonged to be with the little angel she was made for. Thank you for sharing her story.

Hi Ron. Thank God little Annie's statue was returned. Diptheria exc took so many young lives.I married my husband at 16 He died age 36. The cemetery he's buried in has many small unmarked babies and children's graves. Small mounds. The local historical society has done Alot of research on them. Safe travels 💜

Back than people had both headstones and foot stones if they could afford it. Small stones don’t necessarily mean it’s a child or baby. The cemetery my great-great grandparents are in everyone has a headstone and foot stone marking the top and bottom of their grave

I am so excited about this video. I live in Clarksville and most of my family are buried here. Greenwood is a beautiful place, full of beautiful tombstones. Every time I visit I always have to go by and check on Nannie. There is a soldier buried here that was with Lee when he surrendered to Grant. Also Sgt. Carter from Gomer Pyle USMC is buried here and there’s a statue of him downtown. Ty Ron for coming and doing this story, I commented to you about it but I don’t know if you ever saw it. However you heard doesn’t matter just glad you did. Lisa Sinks

@@FacesoftheForgotten The song, written by the songwriting duo Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart, has been compared to The Beatles' "Paperback Writer", particularly the "jangly" guitar sound, the chord structure, and the vocal harmonies. The Beatles song had been number one in the US charts three months earlier.
The lyrics tell of a man phoning the woman he loves, urging her to meet him at a train station in Clarksville before he must leave, possibly forever. There was no explicit reference to war in the song but its last line, "And I don't know if I'm ever coming home", was an indirect reference about a soldier leaving for the Vietnam War.
It has often been presumed that the song refers to Clarksville, Tennessee, which is near Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the home of the 101st Airborne Division, which was then serving in Vietnam. However, according to songwriter Bobby Hart, that was not the case. Instead, according to Hart, "We were just looking for a name that sounded good. There's a little town in northern Arizona I used to go through in the summer on the way to Oak Creek Canyon called Clarkdale. We were throwing out names, and when we got to Clarkdale, we thought Clarksville sounded even better. We didn't know it at the time, [but] there is an Army base near the town of Clarksville, Tennessee - which would have fit the bill fine for the storyline. We couldn't be too direct with The Monkees. We couldn't really make a protest song out of it - we kind of snuck it in"

It's good to see the statue back where it belongs. That thing has been all over. Sure is beautiful. Reminds me of the monument marker I found in an antique store. No one knew who took that either.

What a beautiful statue in such a tranquil resting place. I’m so glad she was returned. I can almost feel Nannie smiling down. Thank you for sharing the story of her all too brief, but, blessed life and taking us along to a place that many would not have even known about, let alone had the opportunity to visit. We appreciate you ❤

You do such a wonderful job describing these histories. Little Nannie was adorable. It's despicable that people desicrate graves. Wonderful that the statue was retrieved and returned. Thank you. Note: thanks also for the referral to the channel with the historical information on little Nannie, "Sannablue"! So well researched and conveyed. I so very much appreciate that you and Sannablue are keeping history alive and conveying it so respectfully.🦋

If you ever make it to Columbus Ohio. At Greenlawn Cemetery there is a grave of a 6 yr old who was electrocuted by the cities first street lights. His grave has a marble statue of his self playing on top of his gravestone. Really nice grave

An interesting video today of the events surrounding the theft of the Nannie Tyler memorial statue. Some people will do anything for money, stooping to the lowest levels. This is a beautiful statue and a very emotional story. Thank you.

So glad the satute was returned to its rightful place. People have no idea how to leave things alone anymore and just observe with their eyes not their greedy hands. Such a sad story too that this little girl died so young. I love that you had pics of the family.

Hal Holbrook is now buried next to his beloved wife Dixie Carter in McLemoresville Tennessee in the western end of the state. Their graves have a very large and beautiful tombstone.
