Of all the videos, I actually found this one the simplest to understand. Every other video drags out and adds extra fluff, but this was straight to the point. Thanks!
Thank you. I try to give as clear of overview as I can because I know how hard it is to sift through all the tutorials on TH-cam to find that one snippet of info you need. Glad you enjoyed it.
@@jarridgordon2155 absolutely, my only question is you mentioned you didn’t tap a fuse in the fusebox of the engine bay because of the protrusion and inability to seal the cover on again. Is that the real why you punched through the grommet to the interior for acc mode fuse instead?
@@richieewinns yes the accessory power fuse tap and the switch controller cable both ran through that grommet. Even if I figured out a way to tap into the engine bay fuse box I still would use that grommet for the for the switch panel control wire.
Thank you very much for the video it's very informative. I just ordered the six button for my 2021 TRD OR, now I'm second-guessing myself saying that the eighth button fits fine as well.
The 8 fits good. If I could go back I wish I did the RGB one just because I would like to be able to program the lights from my phone and make some of them have the strobe function. I think they also make an 8gang XL one, that one would probably be to big for the location I chose.
Hi. Great video. I wish it had the actual installation for a very beginner like me. Do you have anyone in AZ that you would recommend to install it for me? Also, are you planning on installing an Anytime Camera?
@@sherylh2567 unfortunately I haven’t had any work done in any shops locally. There are quite a few Facebook pages that you can ask around on. But I feel like any audio/stereo installer should be able to do it for you. Such as audio express. No I don’t plan on installing an anytime camera anytime soon.
Is there a reason you didnt tap into the acc fuse? Wouldnt that enable to use the lights with just 1 key press, and then still allow use while ignition/driving?
@@tylourdaubert6176 with the fuse I tapped into I still can access the lights with 2 key presses even if the car is still off. I’m sure you can use the acc fuse but I pretty much never use the light unless I’m driving so this method works for me. With the fuse tap I have I can always experiment with different fuse locations so maybe down the road I can try the acc fuse.
Unfortunately not on the model I got. If you get the Bluetooth version that connects to the app on your phone, you would be able to set strobe patterns.
Yes I installed a 10amp fuse into the fuse tap as well. So the fuse tap has 2 fuses. The orange/yellow one that came pre installed and the red 10amp one which I added. No issues at all so far.
How loose is your breaker and the switch controller on the fuse box. I just put mine in and while the smallest and medium screws work it’s not super firm which worries me when I take it off roading. Also how did you mount the switch in the cab without drilling? I’m assuming Velcro?
Mine is all pretty tight on the fuse box. Taken it off roading and on washboards and have no issues. I made sure to drill a tiny pilot hole then screw in the screws using a screwdriver 🪛 not a drill because I wanted to make sure I didn’t strip out the plastic. For the switch panel on the dash you are correct I just used double sided 3M Velcro.
I didn’t add any extra wire. It just barely fit as you can see in the video. You just might not be able to rout it super clean. I just routed it for the shortest distance. The fuse tap does add a couple extra inches so that helped some.
@@jarridgordon2155 thx. I might add some extra extra wire just to be safe. It looks like it might be 16 gauge. But to be honest, I don’t know the first thing about wiring. Lol The only thing I know for sure, is, if there’s wiring I will at some point shock myself or Short something out
Hahaha just disconnect the battery before doing anything and you will be good. 👍🏼 I agree I think it is 16 gauge. So you should be fine using extra 14 or 16 gauge wire.

Yes I got the one that works with the cell phone.
Well done . How did to mount the switch panel double sided tape ?
I used 3M Velcro strips.

Was your red accessory wire long enough to go into the cab? Mine isn’t nearly long enough
