Howdy from AZ (Queen creek) as well. I just ordered an Auxbeam to clean up the wiring on a 19 off-road premium I just bought. There are wires everywhere and it’s driving me nuts. I got several quotes so I’m hoping I can tackle it to avoid having to drop another $1k to have a shop do it. Couple of questions for you. 1. How’s the Velcro holding in AZ? I’m always hesitant with our heat that the Velcro will melt and not hold the switch. 2. Have you had any other issues or problems since install? 3. Do you do installs for local fellow 4runner owners? I’d love some professional assistance and I’m willing to pay!
Hello! The Auxbeam should certainly help clean everything up. Did you get the bracket for the control box that mounts to the inner fender as well? 1. The original Velcro I used actually did fail in the summer. I was using Velcro that I had left over from another project and was not ideal for this. I ended up ordering the Velcro below and haven't had a problem since. amzn.to/3Ssy3T9 2. No issues to report. 3. I have done work for some locals. I am probably an hour and 15 minute drive from you in Queen Creek; I'm in Peoria. I would be open to doing it if you really wanted to drive up here. I would need a 1/2 day to get everything right. I wouldn't be available until the 2nd week in Feb though. You can email if you want to discuss further me at Brothersadventuresllc@gmail.com
I didn’t get any sort of bracket as I wasn’t sure what came with the Auxbeam itself. I was going to wait to buy a bracket until I saw if I indeed needed it. Is one needed? Also I may reach out if I can’t get it figured out. I’m hoping since everything is already ran it should be just a matter of reorganizing and eliminating wires / relays. I need to re run the switch for my rock lights, ditch lights and light bar.
@@jakeaubrigreene1745 I should have put a link to the bracket on the video description. It is not 100% necessary, but certainly nice to have. You can Velcro or screw the control box and circuit breaker to the fuse box cover. I'm not a fan of doing that, but you can do it that way. Watch the other videos I did on all those light installs and it should answer most questions. You can email me anytime with questions if you do it yourself. I have helped a number of people that way as well
Great video! Install looks clean. In reference to the circuit breaker location, it is considered “safest” to mount your breaker as close to the power source as possible. If you were concerned and if you wanted to leave the breaker there you could add in something like a Marine Rated Battery Fuse (MRBF) on the battery terminal itself to give you a second line of defense at the “best” location possible. Lots of people leave them like you have it though, but in case you were concerned there are options for leaving the breaker in that location 😊
Thank you for your advice. I'm not overly concerned at this point as I only have the ditch lights and lightbar connected with minimal draw. I will definitely look into that MRBF as I start to add more accessories though. I wasn't familiar with this until you brought it to my attention. I love learning new things so I thank you for bringing it to my attention.
@@AZOverland2017 you’re welcome and for sure, happy to share/help! One thing to note: the reason for keeping protection close to the battery actually has nothing to do with the load on the system but rather a wire coming loose or frayed or a short between the battery and the fuse/breaker. If the termination rattles loose and hits metal in the engine bay, that would be bad news, placing close to battery makes that essentially impossible. I am certainly not saying it is “necessary” but it is considered “best practice”.
Thanks…great video. Question…how to wire up ditch lighst with dual lights that have 3-wires (amber, white, ground)? Use 2 switches…and pigtail the ground from one to the other?
Pretty much, but you don't have to pigtail the the ground, just run it with 1 power wire to a fuse and run the other power wire to a separate fuse without the ground. I did a video on how I did it (see below). It is towards the end of that video: th-cam.com/video/ioepyPizNCY/w-d-xo.html

Plus my fuse box is different than yours, it has the two clear flaps to hook wires
So I don’t know where to plug in the ACC into the fuse box. HELP! You mentioned it but did it off camera. I have a Tundra. Any idea where I can put this thing? My setup is wired exactly as you have it save for the above. The box doesn’t turn on though without the ACC plugged in.

Question: Can you use any circuit AND fuse it at whatever fuse rating the light is rated at? Meaning…take out the 30 amp fuse and put in a 5 amp fuse for a 5 amp rated light. Is the fused circuit (30amp) only for a 30 amp accessory or can I place a 5 amp fuse where the 30 was for a 5 amp accessory??? I know I cannot go over 60 amps total for accessories connected. Just want to know if I can interchange fuses with circuits…8 gang panel for 8 accessories each fused at 5 amps essentially.
My understanding is that you can do that. I've seen where Auxbeam has confirmed this, however to be 100% certain, I would reach out to them directly. I know these switch panels get updated and it would be wise to see if this still holds true with your model.
Just bought myself a 24 gmc sierra. I have been looking at getting the Siberia Ditch lights. What’s the best way to wire when it comes to a light source with different settings?(Amber/white and strobe)

Hi so it's been a year now since you posted this video. I'm interested in punching one however there are many reviews out there that are negative as pertains to malfunctions and warrenty issues, so since your install how has this product held up to the hype?
I actually did a video on this since I've been asked so many times (see link below). On my particular 4Runner it was the INJ. The video I did below will explain how I got there and what alternatives you may have th-cam.com/video/qyOkrW4P5qk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=7JhlA5tpOhIg2RxR
What ferrule size are you using? I looked at the kit but did not purchase it yet. I also have 2 lights i will be using as rear lights and looked at piggy back blade connectors for them to run a single wire from front to rear.
Does the way you have control panel situated truly matter in terms of running the positive cable to the circuit breaker? Reason I am asking is because I was wondering if it is turned the other way were the positive post is closer to the breaker where there won’t be a need to have a 2nd longer positive cable the same length as what came with the kit. Getting ready to the install myself and your video has been very helpful.
Thanks. I connect the positive first. But, the circuit breaker is still flipped so I don't get power to the Control Box until I actually flip that breaker On
I currently have the RC 54 Inch lightbar, it has built in relays, can I still use them in conjunction with the Auxbeam relays? It would draw considerable less amperage.
That's a good question. I believe you can but I would speak with the Auxbeam people directly and have the specs on the lightbar ready to provide. Wish I could be more help here.
@AZ Overland Yeah, tried to contact them with no luck. The switch panel itself is basically just a toggle switch. I just didn't want to overload 1 input because they only have a 30 amp fuse, but my relays cut down the amperage before it even gets to the Auxbeam. I believe I can just leave them in. Unless all of the relays are internally connected, if so I can do away with the rc relays.
nice video man. i just installed the Auxbeam 8 Gang in my Tacoma. how do you bypass Auxbeam V-Max series wire to connect directly to 8Gang switch with 3 light modes? i am not really good with wiring but can follow simple instructions.
Check out some of my other videos with ditch lights installs on both the the Tacoma and 4Runner and the Rock light install video and it might help. I don't know what wires are in that specific harness, but you will be cutting out the supplied switch and relay and wire directly into the Control Box. You will probably be using 2 circuits
That's all cool but I can't think of 8 devices I'd want to control AND power from one location. A few lights, what else? Have more equipment in the back of the truck of course, but doesn't make sense to control say water pump or fridge from the drivers seat, and they also needs to be powered from a different (aux) battery. How many switches did you end up using in your setup?
I've used 4, but have more additions. Ditch lights, lower light bar, and 2 color rock lights which take up 2 buttons ( 1 to control white and 1 for amber). I'm adding a roof rack light bar with potentially 2 modes as well, and rear tack lights. They can be used to control a horn ( if you get one with a monetary function). They also have them in a 4 or 6 switch configuration
I enjoy watching your vids. Im thinking about putting a switch panel in my 4runner. Currently, i have my light bar powered by a switch that is in the same spot as your panel. I hit my switch with my knee as i'm getting in. Do you have that problem with yours?
Thank you. No, I haven't had any issues bumping the Switches. Are you tall? I'm only 5'6" so maybe my height has an advantage here😁 Seriously though, the switch panel is pretty low profile
Thanks. I tapped into the INJ fuse. I did a video not to long after this one that explains everything about how I found that fuse and why. It supplies power to the Switch Panel when the key is in the ON position. At that point I can operate my accessories that are wired in to the Control Box by pressing the buttons on the Switch Panel
@@PoppysG4 You really can't control that many modes with this Panel. I did a video recently on how you can control a 2 mode light. You have to look into a Switch Pros or similar

Depending on what kind of lights will determine exactly how you wire it. However, I did a few video explaining how to do this if you want to check through my Video Library. See the link down below for 1 of the videos I did starting at 4:36 when I wire ditch lights to a switch panel: th-cam.com/video/U6ZLO_qQHPY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=E1QLn3ge2wmnvpq-

Hopefully you can help,TIA I want to buy a 22 Inch 6 Modes White&Amber Off Road Led Light Bar Sku: ZD000655, from Auxbeam. I have the Auxbeam RGB 6 Gang Switch Panel RA60, and thanks to you and your video hooking it up was super easy, I'm trying to figure out if there is a way I can control the light bar fuctions, like switching to amber and back to white and using the strobe effects...help
Check out one of my more recent videos where I show how to hook up a 2 mode light bar to the Switch Panel. I really don't think there is a simple way to do a 6 mode hook-up unfortunately. You may be able to hook it up and get 2 modes out of it, but the On/Off button won't allow it to switch through all the modes like the switch they provide on the kit
I can't confirm 100%, but I believe it was the fuel pump. I used a test light. I clipped the alligator clip to ground and tested every fuse with key Off, then turned key to ACC. I do remember I had to use a different type fuse (same amp) to fit in the pin connector
If it is a 12v system you can use it. As far as starting, this particular one won't work because it only has a monetary switch. You would need one with a continuous for starting or horn, etc. Also, it would depend on the amp draw. You have a 30 p max draw with this Panel.
Thank you. If you have a 3rd Gen Tacoma, below is a link to the bracket. I will be doing an install soon on our Tacoma with this bracket and a similar Switch Panel amzn.to/3l4IT3R
My understanding, from past Auxbeam information they put out, was yes, this will work just fine. I would recommend that you reach out to them and confirm that, especially because some of these companies change these units with updates as the years pass and it may depend on what unit you have.
Dang why do all these guys fear changing a fuse so much? Everyone even mentions using a smaller fuse than what it comes with….. so, are you all afraid of pulling a fuse out? or sticking one in? It’s not difficult and they don’t bite. 🤷 Really If you are working on your own car in any capacity, changing a fuse should not be that big of a deal. And if you don’t understand standard electrical devices like fuses well enough to know that using a fuse with a lower amp rating would be fine and it would not create or allow for a dangerous situation, then you should probably stick to just changing oil until you at least understand the basics of how fused circuits function. 👊
Honestly, I took for granted that it would be an easier part of the install, but admittedly, I was wrong. I've had a ton of emails asking me about this. Good news, is I always respond to them and with pictures. The bad news is, many vehicles are different so it won't apply to all of them. Oh, I tapped into the INJ fuse on my 2017 4Runner SR5. And, I will do a video on how to find the correct fuse no matter the vehicle.
This is from the company and in regards to the 2021 which may hold true for the 2022 and 2023: "Toyota added a new relay box in the same location where this bracket goes. Other customers have removed the bracket from the new relay and tucked it beneath the Overland Equipped bracket. Just be aware some modifications are necessary, it’s not a simple drop in."

@@AZOverland2017 yep, I'm 6'-2 tall
Such a clean install. Brilliant!
Thank you, I appreciate you watching
Great video! What fuse did you use in your OEM fusebox? Do you have it wired to come on with your lights or it is on all of the time?
How do you control the different modes for a 6 mode light bar wired to the Auxbeam switch panel?
@@PoppysG4 You really can't control that many modes with this Panel. I did a video recently on how you can control a 2 mode light.
You have to look into a Switch Pros or similar
@@AZOverland2017 Thanks
Nice project demonstration.

I have switch panel already installed on my tundra !
So i ordered some lighting to install
Now that the panel comes with fuses and relays
What i do with the relays and red wire with the loop on the end ??
Thanks
Depending on what kind of lights will determine exactly how you wire it. However, I did a few video explaining how to do this if you want to check through my Video Library. See the link down below for 1 of the videos I did starting at 4:36 when I wire ditch lights to a switch panel:

I'm having trouble with the Output Connections. Seems like when I tighten the + / - wires in their holes and screw down the holder, I loose power to the light. Any suggestions on how to properly secure wires into the Output Connections?
THANKS
I'm so sorry, for some reason I did not see this question. If you still need help let me know. I think I know what the problem is.
I found the solution. TY for responding.
Hopefully you can help,TIA I want to buy a 22 Inch 6 Modes White&Amber Off Road Led Light Bar
Sku: ZD000655, from Auxbeam.
@@AZOverland2017 Thanks...
Looks great, excellent detail and explanation
I appreciate it!
No nned for relays for each light set?
No
What acc fuse did you select inside your fuse box for the Add a circuit?
I can't confirm 100%, but I believe it was the fuel pump. I used a test light. I clipped the alligator clip to ground and tested every fuse with key Off, then turned key to ACC.
I do remember I had to use a different type fuse (same amp) to fit in the pin connector
Is your switch panel constantly on regardless if the car is or not?
No, it's not. It comes on when the key is in the ACC position or when it is running.

Can u use this on a motorcycle for everything including starting and cutting of engine
If it is a 12v system you can use it. As far as starting, this particular one won't work because it only has a monetary switch. You would need one with a continuous for starting or horn, etc. Also, it would depend on the amp draw. You have a 30 p max draw with this Panel.
I’m gonna be installing one on my tundra. What’s the best fuse to tap into ? Let me know please, I would appreciate it. Great video.

Keep the good vids coming!
Thanks for your support. Many more to come!
In theory if i need all 8 switches to only be 5 or 10 amps, is there any problems there swapping out the 20 and 30 amp fuses?
My understanding, from past Auxbeam information they put out, was yes, this will work just fine. I would recommend that you reach out to them and confirm that, especially because some of these companies change these units with updates as the years pass and it may depend on what unit you have.
Dang why do all these guys fear changing a fuse so much?
Everyone even mentions using a smaller fuse than what it comes with….. so, are you all afraid of pulling a fuse out? or sticking one in?
It’s not difficult and they don’t bite. 🤷
Really If you are working on your own car in any capacity, changing a fuse should not be that big of a deal.
And if you don’t understand standard electrical devices like fuses well enough to know that using a fuse with a lower amp rating would be fine and it would not create or allow for a dangerous situation, then you should probably stick to just changing oil until you at least understand the basics of how fused circuits function. 👊
Since then have you run into any problems? Hows the parasitic drain?
No issues. Drain is minimal. I run a Scangauge and monitor my voltage and everything is within safe parameters
👍
🙏
Have you had any issues with your ditch lights asking because you put both pods in one switch, I wanna do the same thing.
Great video by the way 🔥🔥
I have not. It is not an issue to do this as long as the lights you are using are out on the correct amperage fuse
I have a question
I saw you commented on the other video I made as well. What specifically are you having trouble with?
Why not show what fuse you tapped into?
Honestly, I took for granted that it would be an easier part of the install, but admittedly, I was wrong. I've had a ton of emails asking me about this. Good news, is I always respond to them and with pictures. The bad news is, many vehicles are different so it won't apply to all of them.
Oh, I tapped into the INJ fuse on my 2017 4Runner SR5.
And, I will do a video on how to find the correct fuse no matter the vehicle.
Anyone tried the shelf/bracket in a 2022 or 2023 4runner ? Im interested in doing basically this exact setup
This is from the company and in regards to the 2021 which may hold true for the 2022 and 2023:
"Toyota added a new relay box in the same location where this bracket goes. Other customers have removed the bracket from the new relay and tucked it beneath the Overland Equipped bracket. Just be aware some modifications are necessary, it’s not a simple drop in."
Finally got it in the 4Runner huh? Looks a lot neater
Yup. I'm happy to have gotten rid of those relays and extra length of wiring.
Good stuff!

THANK YOU for answering my other questions and pointing me here! Hugely helpful. I want to try this on my Subaru.
Question: how did you pair the hots and grounds on the 2 5 A terminals? Is that heat shrink tubing? What ditch lights you using and their current draw for the pair?
See 6:12
In the video you'll see that I use ferrule terminals to pair hot and grounds. I'll try to tell you in a separate response at what time in the video. I am using Lasfit Ditch lights. The 36w HP series I'll try to link that as well. They each draw 2.7 amps, so 5.4 total draw. I am going to switch up to a 10 Amp circuit even though the 5 is working fine for now
