    Having Bishops in parliament is tricky, they keep on blocking the corridors because they can only walk in diagonal lines.

      That is LITERALLY the point of it. The oiks go to oik school and then down the mines or into the mills and the upper class go to a propper school and then into politics.

      I taught in one of those boarding schools for small children. The psychological damage achieved by the parents is truly horrifying. Alas, some of those parents truly believed they were doing ‘the right thing’ for their children, but for many, children were just ornaments to be displayed on Special occasions, and put away when not needed.

Education is free for everyone and every pupil gets a free meal every day. Btw the school food is healthy and delicious 😋 Nowadays they don’t even have homework 🤔 We did 😱

      Finland may have a higher marginal rate of tax BUT a properly functioning education & health system so economy as a whole is bigger so everyone in society does well. And people don't have to pay for services on top of their taxes.

Let them persist if that’s what people want, just ban their output from public office and if 7% of the population were privately educated, then limit their access to all parts of the echonomy and society to 7% .

    Do you want to tax education or not? Private schools - pre school nurseries - university fees - music teachers - after school clubs - sports clubs - driving lessons - HGV training - College courses. Not sure which of these have VAT on or not but essentially should be the same rule for all of them as they all require parents/users to pay extra and not everyone has the same access.

    • @MattGreenComedy
      @MattGreenComedy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you think is ironic about that? Why does having an opinion on the charity status of private schools mean that you shouldn't ask people to pay you if they enjoy your work? Do you think everyone who makes content is "begging"? Charity status is a government tax break for organisations. I think it's very reasonable to question whether private schools should benefit from that.
