It seems like Fusion counts the SVG-files which William uploaded as the object to snap to (when checking that option when creating the face). Therefore I tried to put the SVG-file canvas behind the sphere and then when I am creating the face at the front it has the sphere as the closest object to snap to. It works somewhat. (Note: I am just a beginner in Fusion 360)
Thank you for this video it's making the process 100x easier for me! Is there a video about creating the sketches in AI? Also the link you posted in the comment isn't working. Thank you! : )
Well, there are different spheres for different kinds of glasses. Sporty ones generally have smaller spheres, while casual glasses such as Navigators have larger spheres. The name of the scale escapes me at the moment, but if you go to an optician you can buy different lenses for different types of glasses. You can also measure an existing lense (a serious optician will have one) if you need to replace the lenses on an existing pair.
No,you will have to organize the tooler path for CNC machine according to Drawing. we have video to teach you how to convert. my email:styjstef@gmail.com Whatsapp:+86-13957354000
WOW! you've just made it a whole lot easier to use the sculpt environment, thanks!!
Thanks, this tutorial helped me on my job postulation, they hired me!
OMG. This is exactly what I was looking for!
Gard Hagen Its almost as if i made it specifically for you, isnt it
You've helped me more than you could possibly know..
Hello, could you please provide the link to the images if you still have it?
Thanks William for the useful tutorial. Could you provide the sketch of sunglasses? All the links are broken...
great work ,
so about the 2D drawing , did u make it urself or is there a link that i can download ?
Where is that link to download the sketch?
The link to the 2D sketches are still broken. Could you do something about that?
In my case when i want to add a face, object snap is not selectable. Does anybody have an idea what i'm doing wrong?
Thank you for the tutorial. Is there any other videos describing how to use joint commands?
Exactly what I was looking for!
Hi! Do you have those images?
Great Tutorial. But, No matter what I do, the software will not let me use the sphere as a plane when I create a face. Any suggestions?
Yes, same issue. Help us william!

Thank you so much 💝
Due to public demand I have posted some of the background design sketches here: whatabout.no/en/home/item/51-designing-sunglasses-with-fusion-360
did you have to delete them?

Great tutorial. But why exactly (1/9)m*2 is diameter of sphere? Is it standard for all eyeglasses designs?

WilliamKempton Thanks for answer. Could you recommend some resources for eyewear/eyeglasses designing for real world solutions?
this is nice!!!
Do you have those images? could you provide them to me, please!
Hi, I noticed the previous link was broken. here they are at whatabout.no/2019/06/06/sunglasses-fusion-tutorial/
@@willythekman Thank you so much!
@@willythekman The link doesnt work anymore
Very good. What did you save your AI images as?
vertex is the singular of vertices :)
Love the video series!!! What base curve lens would this sphere be? Thank you so much for the videos, they are a great help
hey did you figure out how to find the diameter of a lens at a certain base curve. I'm looking for the diameter of a base 6 lens
@@settleaaron this is for a 6 base curve! i ordered lenses and they fit,,,, sorry if this is too late
Can this design be use on a cnc machine?

question…aren't your 2D drawings based on a 3D model?
Vertices is the plural, vertex is the singular (not "vertice").
Complimenti Bravo Bravo Bravo
If I'm doing this using a sketch I created in Fusion 360, can I just project the shape onto the sphere?
Soooo complex!
