Am a petrol head who had XF falcons ford falcons. ANd love aussie cars as well as german cars ( i own 2023 mazda 3 sedan and 04 w203 ) Have to say. I BYD seal was stunning. now more so, WOW stunning legit.
would you believe me if I told you that my daily driver that I drove around in for 12 years before buying my BYD Seal was a Ford Falcon FG XR6? That car was great! Everything I know about cars I learnt messing around on that Falcon.
I don't think it will. The SeaLion 7 is the BYD Song Plus. That essentially looks like an SUV version of the current Seal. But it recently got a refresh with the new EVO platform, no details as to whether or not we are getting that platform. This new 2025 Seal looks to share design and influence from the new BYD Song L. If the BYD Sealion/Song Plus is meant to be the direct competitor to the Model Y, then the Song L is the direct competitor to the Model X.
@@Aussie_Stu76 Sealion/Song L are very similar in looks, but the Song L is more recent and this 2025 Seal looks similar to both but to me it looks closer to the Song L.
Hoping the release will time with our lease of a ‘23 BYD Seal Performance, so that we can order a new facelifted model! Looks like the interior from the SeaLion 7. Hoping we get that model as well, as if it has the same dual motors with 390kw or more of power, we will def be getting the SeaLion SUV. Thanks for the preview!
I'm interested bi-directional charging so I can use it as a battery for my household. Faster charging is good but the other enhancements are cosmetic. Once bi-directional charging is available I'll be signing up for sure✌
Where did you get the release date details from? The new Seal is only just being released in China in the next couple of months, and I would be very surprised to see a RHD version anywhere here in Australia before mid 2025.
The official launch in China for this Seal is this Thursday (8/8). I read it somewhere that it will hit international markets early 2025, I am trying to find my source on that again! My assumption is the RHD will be made out of the new Thailand plant which apparently is focused on producing BYD's RHD variants moving forward and hopefully won't see the delays we saw with our Seals from China.
@@BeYonD-EV I saw in chinese social media that some 2025 Seal are fitted with the current three-spoke steering wheel. So I think it is depends on the variant.
I have an order in at this time for this year's model, and have asked about next year. BYD Sydney is saying nothing's available and will be 2 years. Obviously I'm sending them this clip to look at and comment, is this information relevant for Australia?
It will come to Australia eventually, but no one at a dealership in Australia would know when. Only BYD and the higher ups at Eagers would. When a RHD version of the 2025 is revealed, I would say a release in Australia would be imminent.
@@BeYonD-EV probably a silly q, but I'll ask it anyway. Do you believe it is worth waiting for this upgrade to come to Oz? The longer range, updated battery OS, and LiDAR makes it sound like such a leap, I'm really torn? thoughts?
With this imminent, there should be some awesome runout deals on the current Seals. The question is, do you want to be seen in the “old” model. Essentially, this isn’t really a facelift. Just like Tesla tweaked the Model 3/Y interiors and hardware without it being a facelift (until Highland/Juniper that is). While I quite liked the styling of the dash in the current Seal, the driver’s display looking like a cheap Android tablet plonked on top, spoils it a bit. That is an upgrade if the picture of the new one is accurate. I couldn’t quite tell from the render what the HVAC vents are like. I can see the central ones in front of the charging pads but what about the ones in front of the driver and passenger? The current Seal’s vents are great. One of the things I don’t like about the Model 3 is its poor ventilation. Rather than shrink the battery, I would have preferred more range.
No I don't believe so. It is definitely getting the new 3.0 EVO platform and from what I read the 3.0 EVO platform uses the same current gen blade battery. Biggest benefit is charging speed is increased significantly. The EVO ramps up charging current up to 400A (current Seal is 250A). So in theory, max charging speed will be 320kW. And the platform also supports dual gun charging, and if you do that it will support up to 500kW charging speeds!
@@mlgneo2855 I don't think they are. 2.0 has been announced but it hasn't been officially launched yet. It's actually expected that BYD will run an official launch on it this month.
The previous SEAL interior was sportier and more beautiful. This one feels like a faded copy of MG. What a disappointment... Com'on BYD you can do better!
I 😍😍😍😍 the interior on my current Seal. Sleek, simple and sporty. Love love love it! I'm sure they will run a few colourways on the interior for the new Seal, but I am guessing these reveal pics are designed to appeal to the domestic market who might favour a more plush and luxurious interior.

I like the wheels but I much prefer my current Seal steering wheels. Three-spoke is more sporty than four spoke steering wheel.
I agree, I more prefer a sportier look than a luxury look. But may look a bit sportier with the black leather instead?

interested in colour options for internal and external for the 2025 Seal.
Not announced yet. But from what I've seen they are similar to the current model.
Will the performance model be any faster from 0 to 100 to better compete with the Tesla model 3 performance ?? Thanks
No official 0-100 as yet. Faster motor and smaller battery pack will mean the new one should be faster, but by how much no one knows yet.
I will likely pull mu current order for this one...
getting it on Novated Lease? Could get the current one on a 1 Year Lease then get this one when it comes out.
