  • Now that I've daily driven the Asus ROG Flow X13 (2023) RTX 4070 13-inch laptop, I can give my two cents on it. I'll list some of the positives and negatives I've found with it, and what I like and don't like about it. All in all, it's a very compact but powerful little 2-in-1 Ultrabook.

    Kudos for the elaborate "real life" review . I found you on reddit and I have to say we really appreciate a review that discusses real life use instead of just reviewing the technical aspects of the device in isolation of practical uses. No one ever talks about the limitations of the Flow X13 so people can see this and decide whether they're okay with these aspects or not.

      Thank you so much :)
      I think it's important to show its limitations, and let people decide whether those limitations are worth the price and form factor. That's the fun part about laptops, every model has its own ups and downs, and if price isnt a big limiting factor, there's alot of options and configurations to choose from

    hey great vid, im choosing between either this or the x16. do u think the extra 3 inches in screen size and probably the extra performance is worth? idk how this would be used as a tabletish laptop at 16 inches and idk the battery life. i would consider the z13 but that one doesn't have 32 gigs of ram. overall tho nice review and straight to the point

    • @crimsontechyt
      @crimsontechyt  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thank you :)
      It's only really worth it if you want a bigger display. (And it is quite a lot bigger)
      The tablet function becomes pretty much useless at 16 inches though, since it's also heavier.
      The Flow Z13 does come with 32GB, but that's only on the "Acronym" edition, which is alot bulkier than the standard Z13, and has a permanent weird thick pattern/case on it which makes it pretty unwieldy to use (not to mention that it's not really a laptop, since it has to support itself with an extra stand).
      In short: If you like bigger laptops, get the X16

    Hi, thanks for the review
    Obviously it's a superb device.
    Currently I have an aero 15 Oled and I want to replace it.
    The x13 seems much more transportable and compact.
    I'm afraid of the experience with the IPS screen of the x13.
    Have you had the opportunity to compare the x13 screen to an Oled screen?

    • @crimsontechyt
      @crimsontechyt  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi, thanks for watching :)
      It's genuinely the best IPS screen I've had so far (which is why i was convinced it was a miniLED, like on the X16).
      A couple of my classmates were convinced it was an OLED, since it looked just as vibrant as their screens.
      It also doesnt have any IPS glow from what I can tell, so I really wouldnt worry about it not being an OLED :)

    I have been planning and preparing to buy this X13 for almost 3 years now and Im afraid to buy this 2023 version now that 2024 is coming very soon xD But I do think this is the best X13 version to date. I have been holding and waiting since the 2021 and 2022 versions but I am fixed on this x13 2023 now. I also had a year long debate with myself and my family and friends if I should go with the 16 inch and 13 inch but ultimately decided im going with the 13 incher bec of the tablet mode. I'll just connect the laptop to bigger screens in hotel room TVs etc... But yeah the main dilemma now is that I've spent so long saving for this laptop and Im quite ready for it now but im afraid a 2024 version will come out the moment I buy this xD
    I appreciate your video! You have no idea how much of a goldmine of information this is for me! My mission is almost complete! I will finally get my x13!!! Hopefully the perfect one! I appreciate all your detailed insights and this incredible review!

    • @crimsontechyt
      @crimsontechyt  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a *VERY* good IPS panel. One of the best I've seen on a laptop. It gets very bright, has deep blacks, and has nice contrast (which is why i thought it was a mini LED display at first).
      I wouldn't worry about the display if you're on the edge of getting it, since that's one of its upsides :)

    • @crimsontechyt

      The Macbook is better with HDR content since MiniLED has way higher contrast than IPS displays, but i think the difference isnt *that* big. Can we upgrade RAM to 32Gb in 4050 or 4060 RTX série by changing 2x8Gb RAM to 2x16Gb ?

    • @crimsontechyt
      @crimsontechyt  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      No, the Flow X13 does not have upgradeable RAM unfortunately. Only the 4070 version comes with 32GB ram. The only parts you can upgrade are the SSD, and the WIFI card

      @@crimsontechyt thank you very much, it will be useful for me to know this crucial information, because I use softwares who need 32Gb as minimum
