Being in the business as a funeral director/embalmer, I deal with cemeteries all the time. I would hope that those deceased are not in there because I can't imagine after 3 years they haven't put the names on there. Upkeep can be costly but no excuse for that. We have had 2 bad floods in the last 10 yrs and nearly all of the cemetery was under standing water for days, the lower lying areas have never been properly restored. It really does need some maintenance work. But I give credit to the lawn crew, they work hard and do a pretty good job.

there were no cameras anywhere in the cemetery. Until a double break in at the newer mausoleum near the front entrance in Oct of 2015 (I think), Urns were stolen and oddly later recovered from a mentally challenged young man who said voices told him to take them and care for them. Cameras were installed in that mausoleum afterward. My sons and uncle are there. My uncle is one of the ones who got to do a lil after death traveling. We were very lucky to have him returned. Crack heads often steal urns to sell off for scrap metal to buy more drugs. How sick is that? Cant be good for one's karma I would imagine.

Well, if the chip in the slab is where the vandals pried it open it has to be the original slab. It don't look like any lettering was ever there. Could it be the slab was reversed because the vandals damaged the lettering? Lamont, you ask why someone would do such a thing? As far as I know grave robbers have been doing this since the Pyramids were robbed and before. Today, I suspect it's druggies looking for a ring or necklace to pawn/sell for drug money. Anyone can read the obituaries and attend a funeral. In this case I think it was someone who was at the funeral and knew there was valuables with the 2 deceased. Has to be a good reason these two crypts were chosen. I bought, in 2001, a crypt for two in the mausoleum but it is located inside the chapel/church with the Alter, holy water,. about 80 pews. The nuns are there all the time. The crypt is in the wall 3rd up from the floor and 4th row in from a window that overlooks the cemetery. My wife of 50 years, passed 7/2018 and told me not to put her favorite rings or anything of value with her but thieves have no way of knowing that for sure unless they attend the funeral.😢😢😢
Update, it looks like the original slabs were not pried open but smashed with hammers as seen by all the white marble pieces under the coffin. The chipped one we see was probably rejected long ago but was suitable for a replacement for the smashed ones. That's probably why we see no stains where lettering once was, there never was any on these replacement coverings. I think the coffins were put back in the same crypts and unless family complain the names will never be replaced. 😢😢😢

Waylon Jennings was supposed to be on the airplane that killed JP Richardson. But JP was sick and Waylon gave up his seat for him. As sad as it is that we lost 3 great early rock stars in that crash, I'm glad Waylon Jennings got to live. He created some awesome music in his career. His song, "Are you sure Hank done it this way" was #1 on the country charts on the day I was born. Great video, as always.

I relented and unlocked the laboratory door. The cadavers were in brown leather body bags on stainless steel gurneys. I unzipped one of the bags to give him a look, revealing a Caucasian old lady. During the preservation process, her "calvarium" (top of skull) had been removed so that her brain could be taken out.
Unsatisfied with just looking, this guy grabbed her hair and lifted the top of her skull up, laughing. Feeling badly for this disrespect I told him "Alright put it back." and zipped her back up! 😮

doubt it, this mausoleum is an older one and most of the people entombed there were older folks who died some years ago. A lot of the big family names from Beaumont's history can be found on these walls. There is a river with a park and boat launch next to the cemetery as well as a large low income housing complex across the street, that makes for some sketchy activity going on in the area at night. Odds are they had no idea who's grave they were disturbing or why.

So sad and disrespectful about those caskets being pulled out like that😢
They were no doubt drunk or high and said let’s see what a dead body looks like. As a teen in the 1970’s,we occasionally hung out in a cemetery and drank beer. But never in our times there, did we ever want to do what they did to those people.

Yea know sometimes I get bored of what's on TV at night so I open up my You Tube and watch me some Lamont at Large, I love this Channel, and it's not because of being morbid or anything Lamont has very interesting stories and insight of these cemeteries and who are buried there and why, Good Job Lamont, and I know there is more to the story of the Big Bopper, some had made an accusation that someone on the Plane was carrying a gun and they where playing with it and it went off and Big Bopper might have been hit at least that was the rumor at the time, and they even dig up his body to see if there was a bullet hole in him, and they found none, but what was interesting is that the Boppers Son is who gave the permission to dig him up, ( Don't recall the official word) but they said ONE that his body was still remarkably preserved, mind you this happened in the 80s and two it was the very first time the Boppers son had seen his Father, what a way to first see your Dad, But any then he was re-buried where he is now . I will come back and make the correction of when the Big Bopper was removed from his original resting place. BE BACK SOON!! OK, the Big Bopper was Exhumed in 2019 not the 80 like I previously mentioned, but like they say on the video which you can find here on YOU TUBE is that after 60 years of being buried he was in good condition, when they exhumed the casket in was in 3 feet of water, but remarkably the casket was of good material and kept all the water and air out.
