When I was younger (10) I used to roller skate everyday after school. I LOVED it so much. I am now 48 years old and plan to return to skating next year(2022). Your video is an inspiration.

People like you are so underrated. I love when someone steps off the money-making, status-chasing hamster wheel and chooses to live in a humble, honest way that is true to herself. Wish we had more of that realness in the world. That said, I still think it'd be rad to skate with you one day!

Picked up my first pair of inline skates 2020, and have now broken 2 arms, both wrist, one with titanium metalwork put in and taken out a few weeks ago, 1 broken thumb, and all I can say is HalleluYAH! I'm grateful I have hands and arms and am alive. Still haven't been back on them since my second surgery about a month ago, but I ain't planning on giving up. Very inspiring video Miss Cheung, thank you ma'am, I needed the encouragement.

Hello, I am 60 and have bought my first pair of skates. I haven't skated since I was a teen. Your videos showed me to expect to fall down, but as I keep at it, eventually it will pay off with the freedom of movement I am anticipating. Thank you for your inspirational videos. Loved the then and now aspect of this one.

I am 65 and starting. Haven't been on roller skates since I was 20 years old. Never skated much then. Really pumped about starting, I don't know why, but I really, really want to do this! My mother of 91 came to live with us in March 2020. I realize that if you want to live a long life and keep your balance, I better start doing something. Walking the trail is boring, I want something fun and challenging, but easy on the knees and I think this is perfect. Everyone thinks I am crazy. Glad to know there is a kindred spirit out there!

@@mnpsychologist4400 hi! I too am in this age “club”. Although I skated ( speed) madly when I was 30 I thought I’d be able to start where I left off. Despite the 30 yr age gap. Omg! So humbling with all my crashes and falls. Ugh. However, I’m very slowly getting there and this time with an emphasis on learning tricks and dancing. I found this video so inspirational! To see her in that tiny garage, all the same falls as I’ve crashed, yet 1 year later so much improvement. Much love and cheers to everyone who finds skating as a passion and goes through this learning curve. Very grateful to see such an honest video. Thank you. 💚💚💚💚😊

I started rollerblading at 55 during the pandemic. I will be turning 60 in a few months and skate a few times a week. During the hot summers here in Florida, I skate indoors at a skating rink on rollerblades. I ordered roller skates and when they arrive in a few days will try them at the skating rink. I'm so excited. You're never too old to try something new.

I’m glad you are discovering your own path in life, trying new things and letting go of what doesn’t work. I appreciate you sharing your journey. It’s okay to not be tied to one specific thing, it’s okay to not want to make a career out of your social media following. I find it refreshing that you just want to keep your hobby- your hobby and your social media, your social media. Thanks for sharing your skating experiences, it’s encouraging to see your progression!

I always wanted to learn how to skate but I didn't have the money. Today my first pair of skates arrived and I can't wait to learn. I graduated uni, then went to work abroad in a completely different field from what I graduated. This yeas I am at my parents house, they are also abroad working and I am home trying to figure out my next move. I started some courses which I hope will help my CV cus at the moment is so empty. Now, since I have the time, I concentrate on my hobbies like working out, cooking, skating(I just started and I look like a baby doing his first steps, it's awkward even for me to watch), drawing, reading. I have a lot of hobbies. When the spring will come I have to plant vegetables in my garden. I enjoy my time alone even tho sometimes I wish my parents were home cus it feels against nature for me to be at home and them to be far away. I have 5 cats to feed and they keep me company (when they want to obv).

Love it !. I started rollerblading in July 2021 for me I kinda cheated by knowing how to ice skate and did that for about 4-5 years but never own a pair of roller skates until now I just need to get a pair of Quad skates now. It started all so quick my friend just mentioned it once to me " Yo, let's get some roller skates it looks fun!". We got skates the next week and were surprised how everything transferred over except for stopping, all the cool smooth footwork I learned when I was 10 years old carried over and I was having a blast. Met a lot of friends this past month from just doing this, I can honestly say this had a huge impact on my life. One day I want to meet all the inline, Quad, aggressive skaters out there and learn them all!
Thank you for this video! love from Hawaii!

Girl, just live your best life. My daughter picked up ice skating last year, and as a result, the whole family did, too. I'd been roller skating for years, but only on ice 1 time, 30 years ago. First day I fell like you did at 8:20, and smacked my head on the ice. Still got on it the next time. Fell on roller skates the last time I did that, and broke my elbow, too. LOL I'm clumsy.

Recently I’ve been gifted my own pair of skates to learn new tricks with and travel to school faster. I’m so used moving forward with skates that any other direction catches me off balance, this inspired me to keep trying :)

You were one of the first few accounts I came across before I decided I would pick up a pair of skates myself. I’d never done any type of skating as a kid but it’s now been 9 months since I first rollerskated and I haven’t gone by a single week without skating since then. Skating has changed my life and brought me a kind of happiness I honestly never felt before - not even before the pandemic. And like what you/most people have said, skating has brought some really incredible friends into my life and i’m so grateful to be part of my local skate community. So thank you Linda!

I dusted off my old roller blades in the first lockdown but they're falling apart since I've had them for a really long time and I think I'm gonna replace them with rollerskates because I'm so motivated to learn something new ^^

I started skating this month, after being afraid to for fear of failure for years. I can now move, turn so I don't run into walls, and have made some amazing wonderful friends. The roller skating community seems to just be wonderful, wherever you go 💜 Thanks for being one of the reasons that I put on the skates and got started 💜

I have been a fan of figure skating and roller skating since 2018 and I have been dying to get skates and train my self (most specifically roller skates since it's what I could use the most.) Although I just found your channel yesterday. So happy you shared your journey with us! I really hope I could get skates soon, I'm 15 but my parents still doesn't allow me to work even though I have been planning to commision since i was around 12. I feel bad about asking them since I feel like I don't really do much haha

You aren't here to make others happy, you are here to make the most of one life you get to have. That's all, no pressure, no unachievable mystical purpose in life, just remember the time you have here on earth is precious and temporary. So just enjoy the time you have and make the most of it in YOUR own way. Live happy 🥰

Hi! I became inspired by your learning to skate in 30 days video! My progress has been really slow as I haven't been able to make time to go out and skate (I am too a serial hobbyist) and that has felt discouraging some times.
After watching this video I'm realizing that my pace is my pace, trying to rush it will only lead to burn out. I'm proud of the progress I've made and I'm going to keep at it ON MY TIME! :) Thank you for the inspiration you've given so many people during a time when it was difficult for us 🤍

I feel you about roller skating and hobbies and life in general. I began roller skating in 2019 after seeing Ana Coto’s videos (and she wasn’t even famous yet... she had about 500 followers on IG). She had made a movie with Tove Lo that had roller skating in it, and I was like *I need to do that*. I had these really crappy skates that didn’t fit so learning was really hard. Then in 2020 it totally blew up and I was like - I need better skates so I can actually learn. So finally I got better skates that fit and actually learned, at 31. & for a moment I thought maybe I should make a social media account for it and influence people, but then I decided that I wanted to just enjoy it as a hobby and not try to turn it into a career. I know many people have turned it into a career, and that’s totally cool, but I really appreciate just doing it for fun and not always filming it or necessarily ‘doing’ anything. Roller skating has definitely changed my life too. ❤️
