Omg you're back. You were like the only british person ive seen doing a roller skating journey, as most people skating are from America. I'm British too ans haven't skated in years. Well i only tried it once. But the other day i got roller skates and have been out a few times. But i was terrified of falling... until i re watched your roller skating journey, as it was one of the best. And wow, it inspired me to go down that skatepark and get my skates on. And i did. And yeah i looked like a penguin. But i was moving a little for the first time. And I'd never thought I'd let go of the rail. So thank you for your videos. They were amazing. I loved your roller skating journey. And I'd love to skate oneday with other skaters. But i dont think theres any in dorset lol. Anyaay, have a great day and so excited for your video. N to see you get so good at skating is so inspiring. You did well. And i might even do a roller skating video too. ❤
Omg can’t believe it’s been a year watching your videos! Your humor is absolutely incredible your so funny dude. Perfect video to watch when your going to the rink this weekend Can’t wait to see more vids!!!
I know what you mean she teaches well and I now feel like I have known her for years she is so funny she makes me smile and she makes me want to keep going out and trying so good job all in all I used to skate I'm four wheels when I was a kid with my friend and my sister while we waited for our mum to finish work back then town was so empty at 5:30 I just remember it being so much fun xxxx
I'm so glad seeing you back on TH-cam :) And don't worry about falling, it's an important part of the progress and it's also really fun to watch hehe ;) Keep it up girl!
My lil sis want to roller skate it just awakens me wanting to roller skate as a kid . Now finally im getting my courage to skate and not to be afraid of falling over every time
You really got my attention while doing your videos about roller skating. I know own rollers myself and actually struggle more than you do in a couple of months. Like, I skate for for about 3 months now? And I really don't know how to skate backwards, and that's ok I guess? But, really, you reaaaally inspires me. I see myself struggling with the simple basics of skating forwards and remember your videos and I'm like,, "oh if I keep going maybe I can do Hegla's stuff". And that's ok. Thank you so much, I hope you continue recording this
AWWW I can’t believe you got rollerskates because of these videos :,) Also well done for keeping it up for more than a month that’s the hardest bit!! And I bet you’re improving more than you realise
thank you so much for showing your progress from clumsy person to now where you are so much better at it. I'm starting off again myself after breaking my wrist and I'm only able to do it one or two days a week if its not raining, so seeing you at the beginning where I am, and seeing you now just fills me with confidence that with enough practice, I will definitely be able to skate like its the most natural thing on the planet. thank you so much for showing the bad days amongst the good. you are awesome
I feel like you went full on hard mode by starting out with skating on a rough ground. I know, I know you can just go get softer tires, but still: hard flat floors make skating soooo much easier especially to begin with. Having something to hold on to and stop yourself and stuff like that. You just went all in on the hardest setting... cudos to you! I respect that!
I love this video. I have been skating for about a year and three months and people don't know the journey. You fall hundreds of times. It takes a certain mental clearance and confidence in technique to get good at something. I love do spins, jumps, and speed skating. The falls are what makes it fun. I still fall just as much as always, mainly because I've been doing jump 360s (started landing them on my last skating session), but that is what makes landing something satisfying. I really want to learn an axel next, but I think I'm going to need a helmet, just thinking about it makes me scared. Anyway keep it up and keep trying new things
You have made so much progress! I been skating like a year and some and wow I am still learning to backwards skate and barely started learning manuals which are terrifying! Thank you for posting an update this makes me look forward to making more progress. 🌻
Ahhhh I’m so excited I love your skating videos they’ve inspired me to order my own skates! I already know how to roller blade so I’m excited for a new challenge :)
I love your skating videos, You’re like so real and not fake like most of them, you have fun. Most skating videos are kind of boring to watch. Please make more.
Heyyyglaa (my humor did not become better in 4 months...), I'm literally so happy to see you back on TH-cam - I missed you :) You've really grown in your rollerskating progress. You're doing an amazing Job! Hope this time uni is a bit more fun and you actually enjoy going there
I went to my local rink for the second time ever yesterday and was able to do forward crossovers first time. I don't know why but for some reason I found that particular skill came naturally instantly. I was very proud lol.
I'm new and I thought I was just using it as an excuse, its been 36 in the day and windy. I feel so brittle I can't go outside unless I have to, makes my knees hurt 💀
ILYSMMMM IM SO HAPOY YOU ARE BACKKKKK pls im never gonna shut up about this but your editing is amazing, i love your personality, your videos, your progress is awesome, and you reallllly motivate me to get shit done, ily, you are my favorite youtuber
I just stumbled upon your channel and wanted to tell you how much I love the randomness of your videos! But somehow they all resonate, because they are so reflective of my own journey
Have u tried bending your knees when you skate and learn tricks? It helps. It lowers your center of gravity. I rollerblade and it helps me. I learned to bend my knees because for a Rollerblader I'm quite I'm tall 6 foot 4 but I learned to balance and bend me knees alot more.
I have found you a couple months ago and was so so so glad to see you made a new video about Roller skating!! I am currently learning how to figure skate (I'm 23 haha) and seeing other people around my age picking up new sports like that is just such a motivational boost ☺️
You are so hilarious in a good way if you get what i mean!😂😂 I'm a self taught figure skater on inlines/ice starting from last summer ( i got my ice skates during Christmas break)!! I'm currently working on the absolute basics for figure skating!!! It's so fun to see your roller skating journey
Hii! I have just started skating with inline skates, and your videos are so enjoyable to watch! I binge watched every single one of your vids. They are all very high quality, you definitely deserve more subscribers and views!!
What an amazing video! Please don't forget about rollerskating during uni, it is very good to see how you improved at your skills and it gaves me the courage to always do the same. Love u, kisses from a persong bad at rollerskating in brazil haahah❤️❤️
Great video and great progress. Good for you 👍. It’s inspiring to people. People skate for different reasons but you mentioned music and I don’t enjoy skating as much without it. I like to rhythm skate and skating is a form of expression for me. I like to listen to dance music and JB music when I skate. If you’re listening to music and can start adding variety and moves with cadence it takes it to another level. I was immediately hooked and it did for me anyway. Catching a rhythm on some skates feels amazing. If anyone wants to try this I recommend starting with something with a low tempo. Something in a 80-95 bpm is pretty ideal Imo and why the JB music works so well. Have fun and happy skating 👍.
Yay you’re back!!! I started skating around when you did- your first video inspiring me to actually buy my first skates. Can’t believe it’s been a year already ❤️
I am so happy my fav idol is back oml, I love your editing style could you make a business update and show how you edit your videos?? The premier is amazing!!
I learned skating backwards when I was tyring to learn spins at my first week lol. Some muscle memory kicked in from my childhood ice skating days and I started to skating backwards but I had no idea how I did it. I could only do that when I was listening music then I realised I was moving my hips when I listen music so that was how I was doing. It is weird how my brain knows how to do it but also have no clue about it and can't do it if I try to think lol. So I say get loose, dance and try to not think about it too much. Your body gonna figure it out lol.
Inline is actually way different than rollerskating, mostly because the balance works really different. It's both fun tho. Rollerskating is (in my opinion) more fun to do at one location and to just try spins and transitions, and inline skating is cool for long distance or skatepark skating.

A lot of people who go to the rink are either hobbyists, professionals or beginners like you. There will be a lot of people willing to teach you the proper methods and there will be a lot of people falling along with you. It also helps to have a friend with you, especially if they're as bad as you or worse. The cons of this method though is travel and money. Thought most rinks are inexpensive. If you don't have one near you, then skate parks are just as good. And, if you're like me and living in a small town with no skate park and no car, just find any basketball court, parking lot or really any slab of flat concrete and get skating!
I fractured my wrist when I was 9 doing a spin like this lol I'm now 43 and wanting to skate again but after falling a couple of years ago when trying again I'm shitting myself about falling over again, I don't think I will bonce back very well 😂

Hey hegla I think you should try skating in roller skates at a skate park!
Cool to see that you're back! It just occurred to me - I wonder how different it would be to roller skate in inline skates??
Inline is actually way different than rollerskating, mostly because the balance works really different. It's both fun tho. Rollerskating is (in my opinion) more fun to do at one location and to just try spins and transitions, and inline skating is cool for long distance or skatepark skating.

My gosh u feel like I forgot you. When I tell you I was squealing when I saw a notification from you
EVERYONE I HAVE GOOD ADVICE FOR SUPER BEGINNERS! If you have the resources, I'd HIGHLY recommend going to a rink. Both for inline and quad skaters. There's three big advantages to this,
1. You get over the fear of embarrassing yourself in front of people because you're learning for the first time in front of a bunch of people
2. If, no, WHEN you fall, it's on a smoother surface than concrete or asphalt. Though falling a lot will result in many bruises, just a heads up
I fractured my wrist when I was 9 doing a spin like this lol I'm now 43 and wanting to skate again but after falling a couple of years ago when trying again I'm shitting myself about falling over again, I don't think I will bonce back very well 😂
So how many pairs of skates have you gone through in 1 year 2,3 or 4 ?
May I be so bold as to suggest Moxi Jack Boot for your next pair. I've been so inspired monitoring your progress during lockdown last year in Sydney Australia
