You have no idea how handy and extremely detailed this video is for me. I’ve been playing since I was 12 and always struggled installing CC, Im 22 years old so you making this video is super thoughtful and helpful!! Thank you😭😭
One of the best take-aways from this video: Keep your CC ORGANIZED! When I started modding TS3 (I played TS2 vanilla until after I started adding CC to my TS3 game) I downloaded tons of CC...and then just dumped it all into my Mods folder, no sub-folders at all. Needless to say when I finally started to cull the content I didn't like or want, I was greeted by an unholy freaking mess! Lesson learned. Now my sub-folders have sub-folders--the OCD is real! 😂 I even keep a folder in my computer with images of every piece of CC I have, meticulously labeled and organized in folders, so I also have a visual record of what everything I have. How the heck am I supposed to remember what "Kalypso_Ophelia-VP.package" is!?! Great video!

I love that you suggest people who are new with cc and don't feel too comfortable to just stick to recolors for existing items in the game just to get a feel of how cc and downloading works. I also love that you mentioned the different types of cc. The recolors for existing items, recolors for items that were made, separate cc themselves and even mentioned that some cc replaces existing items and how to check on your cc and ways you can remove them, but explained the safer way to removes cc. You were very thorough and very clear. Some short years back I was trying to install cc onto my sims 2 and the videos I watched didn't really explain much, it basically left me messing up my game to where I had to wipe the sims folder completely just to get rid of the problems without mods. I'm still not sure if I want to install cc, since I'm not really a cc fan I love the game's original content. But if I do finally decide to give it one more shot, I am most definitely going to use this video to help me.

Really nice video, Cindy. I'm not new to custom content, but there where a few things that confused me still, such as the difference between new objects, objects that need meshes found in other pages/websites, etc., so that was very useful to me. I would also be interested in a video on default replacements and mod organization. Just mentioning it in case you're gauging whether people would be interested in that.

Yeah, I wouldn't get into a habit of using the in game delete button. Sometimes it can delete just a recolor and not the mesh itself, and for some inexperienced people it might cause messy experience with their Downloads folder. I think it could be cool to cover compressing files, since a lot of older CC is not compressed, therefore is bigger in filesize. Also, it might be good to make a video about the difference between slaved/repo'd and standalone, I myself get a lot of questions about it in regards to some of my recolors that are available for more than one age group. Also, maybe there could be an explanation of different "clothing kind" like top only, bottom only shoes, as well as using separates for different categories (with changing it in SimPE) etc - although that is more advanced I guess, not really for beginners. Great video Cindy, I think it will be useful to many many people, I really missed your Sims 2 guides!
gamer moment when searching for "essential CC" i saw your list, some of them are rather interesting i just need to stop procastinating so i can play Sims 2 again the save i backed up in my OneDrive is probably corrupted, i'll probably start a new one, maybe just export the custom music but don't know if that would corrupt more

This was such a useful video. I have a pretty basic understanding of how Sims 2 mods work already but still enjoyed this. Thank you! Would you be willing to do a more advanced video about how to find mods that conflict with each other? That is my big struggle right now.
For anyone new to the cc realm for ts2, default a great but if you have a low and medium end computer they lag the game much more than just Standalone cc. Some of my favorite cc blogs are poppet, deedee-sims and keoni sims.
Watching this even tho i downloaded and put 5GB of S2 CC in game today 😂 My best advice for people new to CC is read what the creators wrote about CC. Very often i missed downloading a mesh or when i didn't have UC I downloaded CC I have no packs for so yeah downloading and sorting CC takes hours, days, weeks. Also to aii new ppl in CC world... welcome to the addition 😊 Be prepared to deal with it 😂

yes it does work!!
still good to watch even tho ive been downloading cc for years lol this would be SUPER helpful for someone whos never done it before tho 😳 love how helpful you are all the time on your channel
This was such a useful video. I have a pretty basic understanding of how Sims 2 mods work already but still enjoyed this. Thank you! Would you be willing to do a more advanced video about how to find mods that conflict with each other? That is my big struggle right now.
This will definitely help new players with sims 2! 👏
I hope so!
I know that you’re my fave TH-camr when I watch this even though I already know how to do this lol
i was just searching all of youtube & google for this.. thank you!
Glad to help!
Ahhhh the nostalgia, thank you for your videos!
Thank you for watching! 💙
For anyone new to the cc realm for ts2, default a great but if you have a low and medium end computer they lag the game much more than just Standalone cc. Some of my favorite cc blogs are poppet, deedee-sims and keoni sims.
Watching this even tho i downloaded and put 5GB of S2 CC in game today 😂
My best advice for people new to CC is read what the creators wrote about CC.
Very often i missed downloading a mesh or when i didn't have UC I downloaded CC I have no packs for so yeah downloading and sorting CC takes hours, days, weeks.
Also to aii new ppl in CC world... welcome to the addition 😊 Be prepared to deal with it 😂
On your blog, I found an article about the memory issues with installing The Sims 2 on a Windows 10 pc. No video, but I hope I get it (I'm a visual learner). Nevertheless, this was what I was looking for. Thank you Cindy.
GURL. You literally explained everything perfectly. Thank you
Wet_short_bold_fart is the mood
😆 😆 😆
Hello, have you using Sony Vages Pro. ? If ever you made the video on Fiona x Rumpel as couple and the characters are in the same screen together?💖💖
If you have Apple MacBook, Sims 2 super collection or ultimate collection is on there and you just download it. I have it.
I would check on windows if y’all have any App Store like Mac and see if it’s on there
Thank you so much your the best and your so good at explaining what would we do without you thank so much love you
OMG THANK YOU CUS I COMPLETELY FORGOT HOW and i was planning on getting sims2 agian since i have some discs floating around the house still! XD THANK YOU!
Glad I could help!
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH!!
You are so welcome!
this is a really good tutorials and it goes into everything about downloading cc thank you so much!
i just got the sims 2, loving it so far btw, but i need my cc and mods
OMG I asked for this video! Thank you for listening to my needs! Your channel is so great! Thank you.
Omg, thank you for this! Your videos have made me want to play again and I definitely need a refresher. 😁
I put the mods in the downloads file and when I start the game, nothing pops up about custom content added. And none of the mods are working.
Same for me.. did you find any solution since ? So maybe you can help me
@itszafta nah sorry, I've given up. Sims 2 isn't as great as remembered. Maybe they'll update it one day.
@@Deanhughes5707 i found the solution.. i just used "sims2pack installer" but thanks
@@itszafta That doesn't work either because it just says "Sowwy but this program cannot install .package files".
@@ProfessorChocolateCake I guess you didn't find a way to do this?
*me watching with my 3gb cc folder* : interesting...
