    Just a tip, you can follow creators on MTS (thanks so much for mentioning my little corner ) If you go to a creators profile there in a follow button towards the top. Then go over to your own profile page and it has another button called following and when you click on that you will find a list of who you are following.

    I arrogantly put off watching this thinking I'd know it all and it would be more for beginners...but I've actually picked up some great tips! And most importantly, inspiration. After your recent video inspired me to get redownloading and reorganising, I really wanted to watch the whole series. For some reason I used to hate the idea of organising folders by in-game categories, I've always gone for folders by creator (or t2 pack conversions) but seeing this has actually made me think I really quite like it actually so definitely got to have a good think about how I want my folder structure to be - your way definitely makes a lot of sense. Thanks for this brilliant video😊💕

      Aw thank you so much Gabby! This series was 100% inspired by yours, I learned so much from watching your original merging and compressing tutorials! That was when I last decided to completely re-do my downloads folder 😅👌
      I definitely find that sorting by category works really well. You could even break my folder structure down even further to have more subfolders in that main area - like do a folder for "Buy_Srfc_Counters" and a different one for "Buy_Srfc_Tables" or something. And sorting out Sims 3 & 4 conversions by packs is still a good idea in my opinion, because sometimes you download megasets of conversions and it's easier to put them all in one folder!
      Hope you enjoy the rest of the series if you do watch it! I really enjoy cc hunting personally so even if it just helps it feel more fun and less choreish haha 💕

    My guilty pleasure is downloading CC.
    My downloads folder is very disorganised and I almost want to start again from scratch, and if I do, this video will help me get started.
    I'm looking forward to more in this series. 😁

    I soooo appreciate this channel! I just started playing sims 2 again in 2022. It's been years since I played and when I was playing as a kid I didn't even know CC existed. Now that I understand basic CC and can download it its so fun to shop around for it and now I am trying to figure out how to make my own!

    Great series idea. A couple of things that occurred to me that you are probably going to cover in future videos are explaining and installing the CEP, and how you can either use the Scriptorium for objects like modular/connecting stairs, fireplaces and similar, or else pasting text into game files if people are comfortable with that (and remember to make backups!).

    First of all a huge thank you! I've been around since the Sims 1, and played them all, but I really got bored with the Sims4 that I stopped playing for 2 years. Now I'm back to the Sims 2. Since it's been a while I forgot the tips & tricks and there you come in Your explanation is really thorough and relevant. MTS as a source I was familiar with, but how to use Tumblr and Pinterest is rather new to me. Please go on with your excellent video's.

    I just start playing S2 after god knows long. Default CAS is what I haven't got before and its amazing! Townies finally don't feel like a circus. And in matter of file organization I save each pack file in separate folders (in categories ofc) with photos, so when I need to delete smth I just turn on extra large icons view and see what is what

    Great video Beth! Really well explained and I'll definitely be checking out your file structure. I'm sure it'll be a future video, but advice on finding and solving mod clashes would be great. Sometimes you don't know until gameplay goes awry (currently happening to me with vacations 😑)

    I like the new background! ^_^
    Thought I would give you feedback, since this video is clearly aimed at newbies: I don't play the Sims, but this was very well-done: this was very interesting, informative, easy to follow, well organized, and if I WAS running a modded/CC Sims 2 game, this would be *extremely* helpful. (You and I seem to have the same attitude towards keeping mods/CC files organized! Makes things much easier to find!)
    So, well-done, good job! ☺☺👍👍
    ***One thing of note: I'm on Tumblr, and there is currently a huge bot problem. If you set up a new Tumblr page, customize your homepage! Otherwise, a lot of people who you try to follow will assume you are a bot and either block you, or report you and block you.

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah Tumblr can still be a bit whacky - there's been weird shadowbans for creators I like, there's been Tumblr pages of prominent simmers randomly disappearing / getting deleted or banned, it's a bit odd. And sometimes people just use random popular hashtags for their uploads. But usually it gets sorted out eventually

    Mods and Hacks are recommended to go last, so they are the last to load into the game. (I noticed that you have Mods first) The reason why they're recommended to go last, is because it means that the mods don't get conflicted by accident by other CC.

    I never knew about the subfolders slowing down loading time! I was always worried about file pathnames getting too long

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! Subfolders can slow down loading heaps - also, LONG file names with lots of spaces and or special characters. We will go through this in more detail soon 😊

  • @anachibi
    @anachibi ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ayo! Will you go over Bulk Rename Utility for removing special characters from file names? I still can't believe that a few packages with spaces added literally minutes to my load times! haha

    how do had sims from cc wesites

  • @sinemhanceriguzel3749
    @sinemhanceriguzel3749 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for this information. As an active Sims 2 player still, I have to ask something. I'm writing here because I can't find your social media account. Graphics settings, 4 GB Patch, deleting cache files etc... I did it all. Some CC's make my game heavy and restrict mouse movements. The mouse may freeze when moving back and forth, or freeze while the camera is rotating. If you have a lot of CC, I guess that's normal. But thinking "is it causing a particular CC problem" I grouped and tried them all. I couldn't make a point. Sometimes objects or glitters started to turn pink. Worse still, random crashes started happening, it used to be very rare. I thought that by grouping the CCs and trying a small number, I could at least detect the one that did the freezing, but it didn't. What could be causing these crashes? I don't use many mods, I don't think I have a conflict. There's a lot of CC, but you use a lot of CC too, probably more than me. How can I solve this problem? How can I detect if there is a CC doing this?

    • @TeaAddict
      @TeaAddict  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! So it sounds like you might be running slightly more CC than your computer can handle. What happens if you take out half of it and try? It might not be a particular piece of CC that is causing it, but rather just having a lot of it.
      Other thoughts:
      - Do you play your game using an SSD drive? This can help performance
      - Do you use custom lighting or shaders? Consider uninstalling these and test how the game runs
      - Consider upgrading your computer's ram
      - do you have your CC well organised, merged and compressed? Do you have long filenames? If not, stay tuned to this series because I will teach you how to optimise it 👍

      .package files are the correct format for the Sims 2. I think it was Sims 3 that changed to .Sims3Pack
