It's amazing how if you look at the right side of the map, you see great gameplay, and if you look at the left side of the map, you want to slowly insert knives into your retinas.
It honestly came down to the destroyers. On the right side, the Kiev and Lightning basically beat an entire enemy force. On the left side, there was only a light cruiser impersonating a destroyer, which basically eliminated the ability to push when the enemy team had their own destroyer.
My usual tactic for waking up the sleeping destroyers at the start of a match is to drive the ship to point blank range, hope that the player has their speakers turned up all the way and blast the horn. It's not perfect, but it definitely makes me feel better about AFK players, particularly DDs.
@@HKPiax Not really. No one could possibly know why that destroyer was afk or how long they’d be afk for. There’s an endless number of valid reasons they could be afk. Making the assumption he was afk for no valid reason, and then ramming him because of that, makes the cruiser player look like a dick I would agree though that ramming him is fairly insignificant. Still entirely unnecessary and makes the cruiser player look a bit childish
@@Snyde91 well not entirely true. Many times my friend couldn't load into the battle and when I pushed his ship he suddenly was loaded. Ofc if you're afk or you disconnected then it doesn't work.

The Lightning and CV definitely deserve a shout-out - they displayed some great teamwork in holding back that east side push. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a tendency (on the NA server, at least) for teams to blob up like these two did? Really heavy pushes on one flank, token defenses on the other?
I was in a match a few days ago where this complete raging douche bag also mentioned how he was going to send his replay to Jingles cause he was doing such a good job. I just chuckled and though, "Yeah, that's gonna go well."
Jingles, at the beginning of your video, what if the baltimore was just not paying attention / being afk for a bit? At the beginning of a battle you can set the direction and speed in advance. I assume he/she then left to sip from his/her coffee (which explains why no control input like the mouse was changing). I noticed his mouse moving a few seconds after he crashed into the other ship which leds me to believe we was just afk for a few seconds and was surprised to see he crashed. I don't believe he/she did it on purpose. Jingles, I don't know if you'll read this but one can try to give some input from another point of view...
0:30, oh, *THAT* , yes If you don't know what it is Jingle, it's the good old classic "start the engine of the AFK player by ramming him and then he will sail in a straight line even if he still AFK" Because of my really bad internet connection, I often find my ship already sailing straight into battle after a very long loading screen because of that "trick"

One thing that you failled to point out (although I think you were about to) was the CV saving the enemy Dunkerque from the Lightning's torpedoes by attacking him with torpedo bombers so it turned and they missed and was then alive to shoot and help kill the lightning.... always nice when cv's do that...
The New Mexico might have a higher win rate than the Colorado because last month they had the US Independence Day event where they gave out a ton of free Colorado's for completing a series of combat missions. So, you probably have a lot of people who have never played US Battleships before jumping straight into the Colorado dragging its win rate down.
Everyone on both sides needs to put their mouse cursor over monolit78 in the Lightning, click the right mouse button, move the curser over "Complement," click it, and then to "Plays Well" or "Worthy Adversary," click, and then rinse and repeat for malocher8 in the Kiev, then click "Battle On" or "Back To Port."

You guys really think that pushing an afk DD at the start of the match for, I don't know, 50 meters to let them know they should not be afk makes you a "fuck muppet"? I can't believe you people whine about "no teamplay" and "wows teammates amirite" and then don't care about a DD not moving at the start of the match which is arguably the most important moment for a DD to start moving. He pushed that DD for like one second because he cares about them doing their job. There is no FF, there is no risk of interrupting a manouvre or getting the DD spotted, there are no shots fired at the DD, and as far as what is shown there are not insults thrown in the chat. Besides, why should I, a heavier, slower ship change my course and speed just because that DD wouldn't move (at the start of the match)? It would cost me way more slowing down and turning than just pushing that DD out of the way; and either outcome would cost the DD basically nothing. Cut the crap, this is not a dick move at all.
The mobility on that kiev is amazing. Most of the destroyers you feature need the smokescreen and the lower camouflage range because they can't move. While not being seen would be nice, being able to move out of the way is nicer in a team game.
Thats wierd because i actually enjoyed the New Mexico. Love having 12 gun broadside. Was quite sad when i unlocked the Colorado, although i eventually grew to like that ship too
Back in the day she was quite enjoyable, if slow. I actually liked Colorado as well even before the before the buffs as you were still slow AF but at least you get much more range. Never got used to the NC though, I was quite excited because everyone always raved about how great she was, but those guns are weird and the shells so slow o.O
Same with going from the Fusou to the Nagato. But the bigger guns have their advantages and with the IJN you have less turrets to worry about. IMHO the main problem of NM and Colorado is that they are passive ships. Like in WoT the Doom Turtle is a passive tank. You can do great in them but it depends on the enemy as much or even more than yourself.
Bit random but it’d be cool to see a premium SMS Goeben/Yavuz Sultan Selim in the German tech tree, but with the option to equip an Ottoman flag. The story of how the Goeben and the light cruiser Breslau found themselves in the Mediterranean in August 1914 and had to flee to the still neutral Ottoman Empire while the British were trying to catch them is quite a good one. The German crew, wearing fezzes under the command of Wilhelm Souchon after the ships were commissioned into the Ottoman Navy to allow the Ottoman government to avoid neutrality rules, also attacked Russian bases in the Crimea in false-flag operations designed to bring the Ottoman Empire into the war (though they didn’t need too much persuading), and the threat of the Goeben in Istanbul was enough to put the Russians off a potentially costly invasion of the city during the Gallipoli campaign, as I believe they’d promised to do, despite the fact the Goeben’s guns had I think been taken to Gallipoli itself to aid the defence of the peninsula. The ship wasn’t decommissioned until the 1950s, remaining with the Ottoman Navy until the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1922 and becoming part of the Turkish Navy. It’d be a nice premium ship with a pretty cool history behind it, and would be another battle cruiser in the game
Personally, I found the New Mexico fun, getting a 74% win rate by the time I moved on to Colorado, where I managed to not only have no fun but also get only 52% win rate in before moving to the NC. Interesting.

@@Maraudmania even if he was pushing the DD intentionally, what is the harm? If anything he’s helping. Sometimes if I’m afk doing something in a DVD, getting the boost is a benefit more than a loss. Especially in a DD where sped is life. I hope that balti was more of a doiche than just pushing. Frankly, the way I see it, if I’m in a DD, I’m move out of the way or avoid getting hit by just moving, and if I’m in a bigger ship, I ain’t changing my course for an afk DD at the start of the game.
The Khabarovsk line is one of my favorite DD lines, in all honesty. I absolute love it's harassing potential and it racks up damage rather quickly. I'm currently 90k xp into the Tash, so it's a rather slow grind for me. I plan on looking into the French DD's as well.
I actually realized when Jingles mentioned that the Kei pulled a U-Turn this battle is basically a lemming train in reverse. It was three ships for the better part of the game keeping the rest of the enemy team dead in their tracks.
New Mexico has excellent concealment, excellent firing angles on all 12 of its guns (33 degrees forwards and backwards), the best AP penetration and AP alpha damage of all the 14-inch gun armed BB's, and thicc, layered belt armor that prevents citadels from nearly all same-tier BB's. It also has better matchmaking, getting to slap around T5 and T6 cruisers which we all know love to explode when something looks at them. I will not stand for this New Mexico slander!

I mean... what is more toxic? Giving AFK players a tap with their ship, which does no damage, or being AFK while matchmaking? IMO the latter is more toxic, as it is unfair to the entire team. To those who aren't truly AFK and getting food, going to the bathroom, or whatever, do that BEFORE you hit the battle button.
Why are we all assuming driving into him was deliberate? Granted, the short clip does not tell the whole story, but it looks like the guy was just moving out and expected the DD to already be moving forward?
@ yup especially on spawn. Other thing when someone is pushing you deliberately out of your smoke and then you get crushed. Like yesterday a BB did that to me in Anchorage saying "stop camping in smoke go spot" then I got spotted by DD and died, the dude then typed "looser" .... This is toxic example, not pushing just a little bit an afk on spawn....

When you start going to a flank at the start of the game, you expect everyone else to move, too. If a DD is afk and in your line of sail, I don't see anything wrong with just sailing through him - keeping in mind that team collision damage has been removed.
The New Mexico is a pretty tough old bird, and while the guns are just 14”, they are decently accurate and hit fairly hard. Not as hard as the 16” guns on the Colorado, but hard enough to be going on with.
It's not a bad ship, I recently unlocked and it's quite an improvement to the New York. But even with my few battles with her I ran twice in a similiar situation as here in this Video.. hightier matches on big maps. She is so slow I can't change my mind when selecting the flank to fight.. and both these battles I had to slowly follow the bigger ships with better guns and range who didn't leave much for me to fight;)

Try to play it like you see people playing the Des Moines. Use island cover and make the best use of your radar. You are there to set fires on BBs, decimate DDs and crush light cruisers with your AP when they stupidly broadside you.
I understand that this is your channel and you can decide what replays to watch and to skip, but if the only reason you skipped the replay at the beginning was due to him ramming an afk teammate at the very start of the match, I'd love you to reconsider censoring that replay. There was no collision damage applied and unless he then typed in chat afterward, how can you be sure he meant to be a dick to his teammates? It genuinely could have been he lined up where he was going and assumed the DD would fire up his engines and get out of the way before the CL got to the DD. New Mexico probably has a higher win rate than Colorado because it plays on more smaller maps. The 21 knot speed is always a problem, but when you get up-tiered in the Colorado, you can find yourself on the bigger maps where your lack of speed is just that much worse.
With the Russian gunboats line being my first t10 capped line back when I played I'm always happy to see them out. Shame I don't play anymore, old Khaba's gettin dusty
Actually... the Kii turned North at about 9:00 and was engaged in a bit of 5v3 battle with the other half of our hero's team since roughly 11:00; and turned out to be the last surviving member of the Northern front. uhm... someone is regularly laughing at others' situational awareness. say what? mines? off me go.

That's actually a great idea, if you are not AFK you can change speed, but if you are AFK you at least get out there and do some spotting and take enemy fire.

Shit i always give afk players a love tap or sail past as close as possible blasting the horn usually its just to wake them up never saw it as toxic
I'd probably just stay afk for the rest of the game if they did that to me only cause I went for a glass of water.

all servers- its even worse in world of tanks- in a 15v15- 12 will go one side and camp and the other 3 will be slaughtered

Jingles, at the beginning of your video, what if the baltimore was just not paying attention / being afk for a bit? At the beginning of a battle you can set the direction and speed in advance. I assume he/she then left to sip from his/her coffee (which explains why no control input like the mouse was changing). I noticed his mouse moving a few seconds after he crashed into the other ship which leds me to believe we was just afk for a few seconds and was surprised to see he crashed. I don't believe he/she did it on purpose. Jingles, I don't know if you'll read this but one can try to give some input from another point of view...

One funny detail. The king George's last volley was AP, even though the prior volley was HE, he switched back to AP against a DD

Because of my really bad internet connection, I often find my ship already sailing straight into battle after a very long loading screen because of that "trick"

To be fair Jingles, it’s common to give afk players a bit of a shove at the start of the game, helping to fire up their boilers.

One thing that you failled to point out (although I think you were about to) was the CV saving the enemy Dunkerque from the Lightning's torpedoes by attacking him with torpedo bombers so it turned and they missed and was then alive to shoot and help kill the lightning.... always nice when cv's do that...

The New Mexico might have a higher win rate than the Colorado because last month they had the US Independence Day event where they gave out a ton of free Colorado's for completing a series of combat missions. So, you probably have a lot of people who have never played US Battleships before jumping straight into the Colorado dragging its win rate down.

You guys really think that pushing an afk DD at the start of the match for, I don't know, 50 meters to let them know they should not be afk makes you a "fuck muppet"? I can't believe you people whine about "no teamplay" and "wows teammates amirite" and then don't care about a DD not moving at the start of the match which is arguably the most important moment for a DD to start moving. He pushed that DD for like one second because he cares about them doing their job. There is no FF, there is no risk of interrupting a manouvre or getting the DD spotted, there are no shots fired at the DD, and as far as what is shown there are not insults thrown in the chat.
Besides, why should I, a heavier, slower ship change my course and speed just because that DD wouldn't move (at the start of the match)? It would cost me way more slowing down and turning than just pushing that DD out of the way; and either outcome would cost the DD basically nothing.

The mobility on that kiev is amazing. Most of the destroyers you feature need the smokescreen and the lower camouflage range because they can't move. While not being seen would be nice, being able to move out of the way is nicer in a team game.
Thats wierd because i actually enjoyed the New Mexico. Love having 12 gun broadside. Was quite sad when i unlocked the Colorado, although i eventually grew to like that ship too
Back in the day she was quite enjoyable, if slow. I actually liked Colorado as well even before the before the buffs as you were still slow AF but at least you get much more range. Never got used to the NC though, I was quite excited because everyone always raved about how great she was, but those guns are weird and the shells so slow o.O
Same with going from the Fusou to the Nagato. But the bigger guns have their advantages and with the IJN you have less turrets to worry about.
IMHO the main problem of NM and Colorado is that they are passive ships. Like in WoT the Doom Turtle is a passive tank. You can do great in them but it depends on the enemy as much or even more than yourself.

Bit random but it’d be cool to see a premium SMS Goeben/Yavuz Sultan Selim in the German tech tree, but with the option to equip an Ottoman flag.
The story of how the Goeben and the light cruiser Breslau found themselves in the Mediterranean in August 1914 and had to flee to the still neutral Ottoman Empire while the British were trying to catch them is quite a good one. The German crew, wearing fezzes under the command of Wilhelm Souchon after the ships were commissioned into the Ottoman Navy to allow the Ottoman government to avoid neutrality rules, also attacked Russian bases in the Crimea in false-flag operations designed to bring the Ottoman Empire into the war (though they didn’t need too much persuading), and the threat of the Goeben in Istanbul was enough to put the Russians off a potentially costly invasion of the city during the Gallipoli campaign, as I believe they’d promised to do, despite the fact the Goeben’s guns had I think been taken to Gallipoli itself to aid the defence of the peninsula. The ship wasn’t decommissioned until the 1950s, remaining with the Ottoman Navy until the end of the Ottoman Empire in 1922 and becoming part of the Turkish Navy. It’d be a nice premium ship with a pretty cool history behind it, and would be another battle cruiser in the game
Personally, I found the New Mexico fun, getting a 74% win rate by the time I moved on to Colorado, where I managed to not only have no fun but also get only 52% win rate in before moving to the NC. Interesting.

The atlanta replay guy was actively shooting at his teammates though, and back then there was still friendly fire so he was damaging his team as well

Frankly, the way I see it, if I’m in a DD, I’m move out of the way or avoid getting hit by just moving, and if I’m in a bigger ship, I ain’t changing my course for an afk DD at the start of the game.

The Khabarovsk line is one of my favorite DD lines, in all honesty. I absolute love it's harassing potential and it racks up damage rather quickly. I'm currently 90k xp into the Tash, so it's a rather slow grind for me. I plan on looking into the French DD's as well.
I actually realized when Jingles mentioned that the Kei pulled a U-Turn this battle is basically a lemming train in reverse. It was three ships for the better part of the game keeping the rest of the enemy team dead in their tracks.

New Mexico has excellent concealment, excellent firing angles on all 12 of its guns (33 degrees forwards and backwards), the best AP penetration and AP alpha damage of all the 14-inch gun armed BB's, and thicc, layered belt armor that prevents citadels from nearly all same-tier BB's. It also has better matchmaking, getting to slap around T5 and T6 cruisers which we all know love to explode when something looks at them.

I mean... what is more toxic? Giving AFK players a tap with their ship, which does no damage, or being AFK while matchmaking? IMO the latter is more toxic, as it is unfair to the entire team. To those who aren't truly AFK and getting food, going to the bathroom, or whatever, do that BEFORE you hit the battle button.

@ yup especially on spawn. Other thing when someone is pushing you deliberately out of your smoke and then you get crushed. Like yesterday a BB did that to me in Anchorage saying "stop camping in smoke go spot" then I got spotted by DD and died, the dude then typed "looser" .... When you start going to a flank at the start of the game, you expect everyone else to move, too. If a DD is afk and in your line of sail, I don't see anything wrong with just sailing through him - keeping in mind that team collision damage has been removed.
The New Mexico is a pretty tough old bird, and while the guns are just 14”, they are decently accurate and hit fairly hard. Not as hard as the 16” guns on the Colorado, but hard enough to be going on with.
It's not a bad ship, I recently unlocked and it's quite an improvement to the New York. But even with my few battles with her I ran twice in a similiar situation as here in this Video.. hightier matches on big maps. She is so slow I can't change my mind when selecting the flank to fight.. and both these battles I had to slowly follow the bigger ships with better guns and range who didn't leave much for me to fight;)
The bad detection works only for the khaba line the grozovoi one has really goos stealth if we dont count udaloi

Try to play it like you see people playing the Des Moines. Use island cover and make the best use of your radar. You are there to set fires on BBs, decimate DDs and crush light cruisers with your AP when they stupidly broadside you.

I understand that this is your channel and you can decide what replays to watch and to skip, but if the only reason you skipped the replay at the beginning was due to him ramming an afk teammate at the very start of the match, I'd love you to reconsider censoring that replay. There was no collision damage applied and unless he then typed in chat afterward, how can you be sure he meant to be a dick to his teammates? It genuinely could have been he lined up where he was going and assumed the DD would fire up his engines and get out of the way before the CL got to the DD. Seems like a bit of an over reaction if I'm being honest

New Mexico probably has a higher win rate than Colorado because it plays on more smaller maps. The 21 knot speed is always a problem, but when you get up-tiered in the Colorado, you can find yourself on the bigger maps where your lack of speed is just that much worse.
With the Russian gunboats line being my first t10 capped line back when I played I'm always happy to see them out. Shame I don't play anymore, old Khaba's gettin dusty

That's actually a great idea, if you are not AFK you can change speed, but if you are AFK you at least get out there and do some spotting and take enemy fire.
