The nicest touch for me in this one was when he torped the carrier. He launched them without actually targetting the CV. Hence the CV didn't even think about evading and died for it.
I reckon you are bang on old man, just like with the Carriers getting everything good thrown at them to bump sales, submarines will start getting all the goodies and attention to sell them as a class to the masses. Just wait to start hearing the whinging carrier players when their VIP rug gets pulled out from under them when they are no longer the focus.
you know what else would be great Jingles? A simple spotting delay for all planes (just like with radar). this will allow cruisers and battleships to perform any gymnastics they need to dodge incoming strikes without being exposed to crossfires
Here is a theory for ya: They added the rocket planes attack mechanic purely because of Russian CVs. Why is that? The major "downside" to Russian CVs is the low hitpoint count for your attack squadron, which you only have one per attack. Let's see the Russian CV loadout though. Torpedo planes have a long arming distance on their CVs, so preferably you would want to launch them from a long distance, which means little to no planes being lost. Skip bombers have a long attack distance, which again, means that there will be very little planes lost during one of their attacks. But what about rocket planes? They have to close in the distance, which means according to the Russian CV "weakness", they should get absolutely shredded if they want to drop their attack. That's where this new mechanic comes from folks. You need to understand that when the planes are firing their machine guns, they are immune to damage. Therefore with Russian CVs they will be able to, again, close the distance without losing much planes and drop their attack.
I bet this is closer to the mark, beci Russian CVs will be on the live server before subs will be. The air spotting range on a sub is so tiny that unless someone else is spotting the sub, cvs are gonna have a hard time striking subs, because by the time the planes spot the sub, if you trigger your attack, you're probably going to have overshot the sub.
Uncle Jingles, Can you please make a video(s) or audio where you talk about your favorite moments in life? Ps. Thank you for another great meditation! Infinite Love
Interesting point about the Rocket Attack plane change. Sounds reasonable. And ofc this is Jingles: all the CVs torpedoes actually hit. Only two of them armed though….
While undoubtedly a step in the right direction, a downside of the new rocket plane mechanics is that after the strike is initiated the planes are invulnerable to AA. So for ships that have weak long rang AA but loads of small calibre mounts, they are practically useless against rocket planes as the strike comes in. One my cynically think this is a big help to the new Soviet CVs that only get a single strike with each squadron. I believe that bombers are still subject to the old 30% damage reduction when dropping.
The planes surviving mean jackshit if they don't hit and any competent player can survive any non AP rocket strike with ease unless under significant pressure or in a large ship. It was QoL for DDs and serves its purpose.
Honestly, I love my Zao. I focus on using my decent detectibility to dictate when I can be shot at. I counteract the bad turret angles by timing my fire when I'm already hard over in a turn. By the time enemy shells reach me, I'm already moving away with minimal target profile. By the time I reload, my detection circle is nearly back to normal and I can repeat the process. I pop up, fire, fade out and repeat. She's a hard ship to play, but she rewards patience and careful positioning.
As a carrier based player.. (flying cancer) I it sucked at first to get use to the mechanics of leading the targets more. But it was a refreshing challenge. Its been way to easy to play carriers to a point that I get burned out playing the same way all the time. I missed the times where I could do my own scout planes and repair management. They made playing carriers unskilled playable boats. And I've been playing more dds ( a boat that doesn't suit my style of game) more. With the change I've been liking it more. So coming from one of the carrier players I say that your prediction for subs and dds are on target. Looking forward to more videos and hope to catch you on one day. Have a great day!!
But the game has left the Zao behind according to the admiral of the derriere. Meanwhile, American cruisers above T5 with their citidel designed by two year olds are in danger of going the way of the dodo.
Its likely the same reason why the dutch airstrikes don't use less bombs that just drop on a target instead of floating down. They smash anything that can't just dive out of the way
Well as a BB main it’s not such a pleasant environment and hasn’t been for some time. Of course I mean AP BBs. HE spamming BBs do not apply but when your shells barely hit due to dispersion, you attract every plane in the vicinity. And every torpedo finds it way to you, it’s a good idea to hang up the captain hat. Oh and of course the HE spam… and now add on subs that will hunt BBs as they are nothing more than a damage sponge. There’s really no point in playing BBs anymore and hasn’t been for some time.

Jingles, it took SEVERAL buffs before people started loving the Des Moines. They had to buff the armor, give it radar (yes, it did not have radar at the beginning), and reduce the reload from 6 seconds to 5.5.
Carriers die quite often, you gotta give carrier players credit for surviving a long time. And carriers don't often do lots of damage nowadays, most of the usefulness of a carrier is at spotting, especially spotting destroyers to make it difficult for the enemy to locate allied ships. Basically the carrier just exists to provide a tactical advantage.
@@lunsmann maybe that also but considering he only took one out of 10 it prob rage or it was the *shit in pant* moment of the torps poping out of nowhere
I think you're spot on with the reason for the change. Examining Wargaming's decision making in the past it's always going to be a change that is intended to make their latest ideas look good and damn the old stuff. I just hope they limit numbers of subs and carriers to be the same. 2 max for each team. And I mean combined carriers and subs.
I hope many thousands of players will join me in unceremoniously hitting the delete button the very first time they log in and find subs in random battles.

Ironically, in trying to make carriers less torturous for wargamings new posterchild they have increased the number of destroyers which are supposed to be a direct counter to submarines, so wargaming is probably going to meet their destiny on the road their taking to avoid it.
They removed being able to force all divebombs into the destroyer, they removed slingshoting, increased the drop time of bombs. What really kills DDs and has always been the real killer is focus fire. Yes a CV could invest a lot of time into killing a DD but when your target indicator jumps from 0 to 4, 5 and even higher your health tends to evaporate.

I hadn't made the connection between the rocket plane mechanic and subs but I would agree it's very likely to be true, but to be honest, I've noticed in my Light Cruisers (Yes, I am a cruiser main specialising in the Royal Navy Lights and I even play Plymouth in Clan Battles!) are able to better dodge rocket attacks so hey, a positive change is a positive change.
Imagine a strategy game such as chess that dates back hundreds if years, but every so often the rules change on what pieces can do what, and new more bigger better pieces get added. I give you WoWS
the delay is 5s on FDR, even some battleships can "just dodge" now. my Rocket planes are now on spotting only mode as they are next to useless (they can still hit GK, but that is about it)
I don’t play Wows anymore. Did play German BB’s and Japanese DD’s. I watch your video’s about Wows because I love watching a very good Wows player ad work. And you give a very entertaining comment, but also explain things and sometimes give some history. I like that about these video’s. It’s just like watching sports. Submarines… well I have no idea how that will be… but I hope it will be very exciting to watch. Seeing a DD making a sub kill sounds great. Or a Sub killing a carrier after with great thinking, manouvering and tactics would be great also I hope. So looking forward to it, it may suprise…. Thanks for the vid Jingles.
Jingles, as you've stated, the Zao is not the easiest to play anymore against all of the newer offerings. However, ConradQD did a great job of showing its strengths and that it's not destined to be a port queen if played properly. As for you stated opinion regarding why the attack plane changes were made, I do agree and think that facilitates the intro of subs as with more recent proposed changes that are designed for aiding them, such as the removal of hydrophones from destroyers. This proposed removal would negate the advantages that several German dd and others had against a broad group, and seems to be a matter of applying a proverbial sledge hammer to a two penny nail.
my feelings through this vid: Oh, gameplay is in a healthier place than ever, I may consider coming back! Oh, right, submarines are coming, nevermind about coming back
So with the "okay" level the zao is, is it a ship you'd want in your arsenal of ships? Jingles can be indecisive. Haha. He's on the fence with the zao.
The parts of the ship not fully healed in the first few minutes of this episode represent the Canadian Healthcare systems shortcomings in Dental and Pharma.
The change was likely meant to benefit both submarines and destroyers. After all, Destroyers were historically the primary defense against subs. they would need more space to do their work, hence rocket delays.
Instead of being oppressed by CVs, the vast majority of DDs I've seen on my team so far are now just suiciding within the first two minutes of a match or *all* resolutely hiding in smokescreens until everybody else is pummeled to death while blind, by which point they have no hope of winning on their own.
Jingles, you hit that nail right on the Head and drove it square into the timber at a 90° angle... This change indeed is for submarines. And also explains why submarines are being introduced into the t7 ranked battles and not the CV inhabited random battles. Jingles your a Sage!

That Healthcare was way too effective to be free or Canadian. They would have just taken that last hit point through MAID
As a real Canadian, I approve that intro. All that was missing was the long wait list for healthcare treatment
Jingles, set up an autoclicker macro (use autoit or whatever floats your boat) do go through all those clicks for you with some hacked in delays, so that you can watch the replays without having to go through this every time, until WG fix it
*Jingles thinks the rocket plane changes are for submarines*
*meanwhile, Me:* Will I-401 Iona be playable as a sub? If anything could bring me back to WoWs, it would be an event to earn I 401 Iona as a submarine so I can complete the ARP collection.

Thank you for the Python reference Jingles! Easily my favorite scene in that film.
That free healthcare joke tho XD. Bet ur southern neighbor don't notice that one coming, eh. Anyway, happy late Canada day for all Canadian viewers

The Zao is just a really big, really angry Shimakaze.
Set everyone on fire then disappear, and wait for the fool who uses their damage control.

Ehhh, UK light cruisers like Mino are pretty common. But yea you see a lot more Stalingrads and Yoshinos. Smolensk is also pretty common.
Of course they are common. We are refined tea drinking Gentlemen who fight to the death no matter what meta is going around.
And raining death upon destroyers, cruisers and battleships is hilarious, and they always expect the smoke, so when you drop a radar everyone gazes at us in horror as we bombard them from cover.
And sure, the ship is fragile. Just means when we screw up we get a new map to play on more quickly.
It's that rate of fire what does it.
@@glenmcgillivray4707 this is the most accurate description of UK CLs that I have ever heard.
Came for the well-thought-out analysis of the latest game changes, stayed for the Holy Grail reference (which dates me, dunnit?) and especially the wry laughter. Thanks, Jingles!
Jingles. I played this video for my newborn 3 day old baby and he loved it. Thank you.
Everyone: the changes to rocket planes make it easier for DD’s
Me(who routinely gets 2 bomb hits a drop on DD’s): Wouldn’t know, haven’t noticed
what carriers do you play?
Bomb? Not rocket?
@@depth386 no i mean what nation do they play. since I play Japanese carriers and only get two bombs a strike
@@ryanweidman6338lol good one, but my Question was directed to the original comment by James Sylvestre. He says bomb hits.
@@depth386 oh so just a little misunderstanding, carrier plyer have to stick together after all
The nicest touch for me in this one was when he torped the carrier. He launched them without actually targetting the CV. Hence the CV didn't even think about evading and died for it.
He launched em exactly on the cv, it’s just a WG Replay bug not showing it. It’s a common replay bug
😂😂😂nice touch with the canadian flag intro! lmao hysterically!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i wish we had this separately as a meme
Enjoyed the Yukon clip. I happened to pick it up before all the drama unfolded and really enjoy playing it in ranked.
I reckon you are bang on old man, just like with the Carriers getting everything good thrown at them to bump sales, submarines will start getting all the goodies and attention to sell them as a class to the masses.
Just wait to start hearing the whinging carrier players when their VIP rug gets pulled out from under them when they are no longer the focus.
bet the sub torps take forever to actually sank the cv
12:20 I am one of those! I've been watching since your WoT days back when I was just starting Highschool!
I'm Canadian, and I certainly approve of this video's pre-intro.
you know what else would be great Jingles? A simple spotting delay for all planes (just like with radar). this will allow cruisers and battleships to perform any gymnastics they need to dodge incoming strikes without being exposed to crossfires
Here is a theory for ya:
They added the rocket planes attack mechanic purely because of Russian CVs.
If it was truly Canadian healthcare he would have had to wait some time before the ship started repairing.
Uncle Jingles,
Can you please make a video(s) or audio where you talk about your favorite moments in life?
Ps. Thank you for another great meditation!

I was not ready for the "Activate free health care" LOL
Interesting point about the Rocket Attack plane change. Sounds reasonable. And ofc this is Jingles: all the CVs torpedoes actually hit. Only two of them armed though….
Man i miss 2017 wows.
you can go to server.
@@andrjmolotov672 What?
@@marcl.1346 my reply was: you can go to asia server. My reply was corrected by youtube, probably
As a Canadian, I love that pre intro. That was awesome 👏😂
I have actually gotten the extra damage on my torps in my Zao captain just for the lols. The torps now have 27k damage
They smash anything that can't just dive out of the way
i like this new video format...a random clips at start....i request for more of it please!
I played a game the other day that was 3 (or 4) DDs, 1 (yes, really, one) BB, and the rest were cruisers.
There is nothing more expensive than "free".
Also to be more realistic you should be put on an 8 to 12 month wait list when you go to heal.
@buttpluggers are 2% yet 40% of kiddie touchers *sees username, checks channel* Oh, a homophobe, a fascist, AND you don't like healthcare? Will wonders never cease.
@buttpluggers are 2% yet 40% of kiddie touchers my dudes coming out and admitting to being a nazi without prompting, cruel and stupid go hand in hand XD
Jingles, it took SEVERAL buffs before people started loving the Des Moines. They had to buff the armor, give it radar (yes, it did not have radar at the beginning), and reduce the reload from 6 seconds to 5.5.
I have played BBs enough to know the pain of having the long reload and watching your shells hit everywhere but where you aimed your shot.
"he sank the enemy carrier" is that legal??
Only in the last five minutes of the game...
911, what's your emergency? What do you mean you're being murdered? That's illegal. They can't do that.
@@1mol831 yeah, until FDR appears.
What the heck? I thought only Carriers were supposed to be that sink-resistant.
wait till wg creates land based airfield, which is protected by some mountains so that shells cannot hit the airfield.
DDs, Cruisers, and BBs are old hat to WG. Their favorite CVs are being joined by SSs.

I tell you one thing the Zao does superbly, with a stealth build you can get within torp range of enemy ships without being spotted.......
You're little chat about the destroyers coming back just reminds me of the tale of how the wolves moved the rivers in Yellowstone National Park.

Jingles I appreciate this. I’m working at a Walmart rn and it’s July 4th
Some Canadians were harmed by this video. My lawyers will be in touch with you shortly.
Nice Monty Python reference, almost lost some coffee on that.
Atleast Zao is still one of the sexiest ships of wows
I thought Takao was a monster.
0:26 so what exactly was said there? I heard "without a paddle," but that was all I could understand.
Edit: Now I got it: "I'd say you four boys are up fart creek without a paddle."
Yeah that South Park Canadian dialect is pretty weird sounding
I hadn't made the connection between the rocket plane mechanic and subs but I would agree it's very likely to be true, but to be honest, I've noticed in my Light Cruisers (Yes, I am a cruiser main specialising in the Royal Navy Lights and I even play Plymouth in Clan Battles!) are able to better dodge rocket attacks so hey, a positive change is a positive change.
The intro made my heart swell with proximity-pride
Imagine a strategy game such as chess that dates back hundreds if years, but every so often the rules change on what pieces can do what, and new more bigger better pieces get added.
I give you WoWS
Intro is just perfect!
the delay is 5s on FDR, even some battleships can "just dodge" now. my Rocket planes are now on spotting only mode as they are next to useless (they can still hit GK, but that is about it)
Yea we have been using them to keep hallands and smalands lit during CB since they cant damage you during the attack animation
As a Canadian, I object to that pre-vid. It won't be tea, its dunking the Tim Horton's donut in the Canadian beer Jingles.
im betting the changes in the numbers of battleships is more due to people leaving
This doesn't represent at all what ive been seeing in Asia server this week.
I think you are spot on about the change. It makes too much sense.
I'm a Canadian, and I approve this intro. :)
Gotta agree with our gnome overlord here, the new kid is coming to the block so WG is gonna make their stay as nice and comfy as possible.
my feelings through this vid:
Oh, gameplay is in a healthier place than ever, I may consider coming back!
Oh, right, submarines are coming, nevermind about coming back
Yeah, the submarine theory fits. Also, the Hayate can do 4 X 5 12km torps if you fit the reload booster.

Thanks for your hard work, another great video.
Activate healthcare XD just rolling
I started playing again recently has i love my DDs and cruisers. It is more fun again now than it use to be.
Jingles, you hit that nail right on the Head and drove it square into the timber at a 90° angle... This change indeed is for submarines. And also explains why submarines are being introduced into the t7 ranked battles and not the CV inhabited random battles.
