FINALLY someone who explains Betrayal in a concise fashion. I've watched dozens of betrayal videos and it's always just people rambling about their experience. This video was clearly thought out and is a proper tutorial, explaining how to maximise profit and the methodology properly. Thank you so much!!
It is amazing that you made such a concise and informative video with in-depth testing and spreadsheet work WHILE being a medical student! Keep up the great work, lots of love from BC
As a fellow Syndicate lover. . .I have to say I TOTALLY missed the sextant mod that you highlighted (100% gain). That strategy of immediately proccing Catarina to set up your board without bother of having to run safehouses is really nice.
I thought I knew syndicate but you did teach me 1 thing. The sextant to gain extra safehouse experience is a huge mission saver. Very well put together video.
i think this is the only tutorial in youtube actually made for people who dont know the game a lot. and I dont mean for betrayal, i mean for any mechanic in poe. thanks
Your video is articulate and full of information. I use your video to teach my friend about Poe basic and English listening skill recently. Keep up the good work!
This was by far the best guide on betrayal ever. I ran Catarina with only Aisling rank 3 but after reading the atlas passives with extra upgrades it sounds so much easier. I am respeccing into this and learning this mechanic as i think it will be helpful
Thanks for this, Betrayal is my favorite content in the game and I have gone all-in on it since the atlas passive tree was implemented. All this is info is still mostly useful today and I definitely learned quite a bit from this video, thank you very much!
Leo is definitely A tier you basically get guaranteed 80c which is something you can't say with any Hillock or Vorici. Sometimes waiting for buyer is bigger pain then just throwing it
Having only 1000 hours in game I Really needed simple guide for syndicate and now i found it. And I can confirm that syndicate is multiple times easier with new atlas tree.
Delve & Betrayal have remained two of mt favorite mechanics. I know they are both not optimal "mapping" league mechanics, but I those are two minigames I have a good time playing and both are profitable for your time when done correctly/efficiently.
Hey @Daykun, does the intelligence thing work similarly ow in 3.18? It looks like it doesn't since they changed the wording - we will have to run more than just the two safehouses for each Catarina correct?
Not sure if you still read comments (or if you already figured this out yourself), but if you travel on the left side up in the atlas tree (past the essencenodes you have), and to the full right side down (towards the big betrayal wheel), you can save a few atlaspoints ;)
Wow finally a strategy about betrayal that makes sense! Been largely ignoring it since the league as I could never get my head around it (and still many questions you don’t answer like how the heck the successor leader is chosen - I rank up all the members to rank 3 and yet it still goes out and picks some random dude rank 1 to take over the safe house) Sadly playing on console TFT and selling the crafts is blocked so our results will be a fraction of yours, but still shows how to do this “right” - even if you gloss over the “and then you kill Catarina” bit :-)
You can have transportation and fortification either one full and you will still get 3 encounter but if you have either research or intervention ready you only get 2 encounter something good to know
Ive been looking for a guide on tactics how to get the best result out of the bargain/interrogate/kill options. Couldnt find any that goes into this detail mostly they only explain what the interaction does not how you can manipulate it to max rewards. Very nice guide.
Hey Day, great video! Have a question, you mentioned purposely having 2 syndicate houses maxed before doing Catarina, I have a character for boss rushing and the node for 10 int allocated. Would it be beneficial to run a bulk of quick maps to get all 4 safehouses ready before mastermind? Since it isn't requried to run Jun missions on those maps to get the 10 inteligence...
Nothing to comment on the video per se, just cudos - syndicate/betrayal lover myself, I am running it since I´ve started playing the game. Love the mechanic, loved the complexity back in the day and it is still not one of the easier mechanics so I will keep my elitism going and probably run it til it gets deleted from the game :D
Hey, just a quick question. I seem to distinctly remember that Aisling had to be the leader in research to get the aisling slam bench. Has this been changed recently, therefor she just needs to be part of the research house (but not leader) & rank 3?
I have few questions. First, good job your video is awesome ! Second, imagine I got aisling on the wrong house and she is like level 2. Should I prison her 2 times? Should I wait to some offer me swap house? Should I up her level 3 for maybe more chance to swap her? So hard to choose
Omg that's the best syndicate farming video i've seen. I've managed to finally understand it! Thank You!! Sorry for my noob question, but how do you sell aisling veiled mods? Is it through any specific channel ingame, forum?
Ao.much potential in this content of the game and you have almost fully opened it to your audience, thank you! Some questions are still there, like what jewels you use for leo slam and can that be used for your own built, like, I use posionous concoction. How to know about exalt slam being profitable in the end? Moreover, you could include that experience gained by killing mobs and bosses in safehouses is doubled if not quadrupled (in Catarina), whixh is so cool for endgame! Lastly, your atlas tree looks incredibly interestinf and I would like to ask where you huy brewchstones and where do you sell unique bosses loot such as maps? Nevertheless I rhink if essences are less profitable then strongboxes? Thank you so much for details!
It's extremely rare to go wrong with an exalt slam on a jewel, as it will always gain another mod that it otherwise wouldn't which adds value. It just might not be a super valuable mod that turns it from a 30c jewel to a 3ex jewel. I personally Leo exalt slammed a lot of my gear for my Skeleton Mage for fun, and can't comment on other builds. I linked in the description the gems that I bought to slam!
I was so used to never running Mastermind since it resets your board and therefore was never worth it since her drops are generally trash. Last league I played was Ritual, so I only learned about the new Syndicate changes after It That Fled at rank 3 research leader didn't let me craft 2 pure breachstones anymore. Thanks for this vid, this will make Syndicate much easier. Wasted so many missions on this old mindset, but better to learn late than never.
hey random question, just wondering if this is still a reliable farming strat or do i need to buy something thats now over priced on the market? from u know the 23k views on this vid
It's impossible to sustain any master mission indefinitely, unfortunately! If you intend on farming Jun continuously, you would need to buy sextants with "Area contains Jun" which is what I did for this video. They were around 15 chaos when I obtained mine.
stack chance to get jun missions and tehn spend a few hours spamming non-alched mesas or any map with easy access to boss and that way you farm a lot of missions fast but to be honest its way easier with the sextant
I farm Syndicate and its profit and chill method. But it very depend of demand in craft and time you do it. You can sell T4 aisling for 3ex in few second with 10 whispers first 10seconds or wail 30 min to sell for 2ex sometimes. And other craft like 30% hillrock, leo slam sometimes you sell low prices. Choose right time to do this method.
That is very true! I noticed that during peak hours (ie. right after people get home from work) you will get spammed. If you play very late at night or very early in the morning, it will take longer to get sales.
Love the interaction with syndicate, finally when you understand the system behind it its really fun. Sadly my build is so dogshit that i cant run the mastermind encounter and lost my aisling and white sockets. Anyone else or am i the only poor fella?
Hi Daykun. As a huge fan of farming the Immortal Syndicate do you have any thoughts on builds that can do it efficiently including Catarina? Like you, I have mainly been doing it on skellie mages which is fine but also feels ultra sluggish. Interested in your thoughts on this.
In your good sheet I can see that you ran only 2-4 maps sometimes before mastermind. How did you get enoguht intellgence for 2x safehouse ready to run?
Great question! You'll notice that if I was able to set up a mastermind in 2-4 maps, I usually also had just finished a mastermind taking 12+ maps just before, and most of the time you will actually have all 4 safehouses near max ready to run in those cases where things are unlucky and take a little longer. Therefore, even if you use 2 safehouses to make a Mastermind, you have 2 more waiting in the next cycle to quickly set things up in 2-4 maps if you're lucky. Hopefully that makes sense, hard to explain.
Tried it for a bit now and looks really fun! Really not a fan of selling services though, wish GGG could let you take the crafting benches with you in your inventory to sell instead ahah Been trying to look up what items people even use aisling benches for to make them so expensive, maybe figure out if I could buy items to use them on myself, but to no avail unfortunately
I dont know if I am just unlucky. But I tried this strat, with same atlas passive tree. To have some good rank 3 people in right sections took 14 maps. They just dont appear (Aisling appeared once and only could be in fortification) or when the right appears in good wing, I didnt have option to upgrade them. I am at bad strike or on video it looks easy, but it will take approx 13 maps to finish something good? If so, then its not 10ex at all, 5 at the best.
Its all about luck. Don't focus just on Aisling but consider to run the Mastermind if you find something good such as Hillock in Transportation/Fortification/Research, Leo/Vorici/It That Fled in Research, Tora/Elreon/Gravicious in Intervention. If Aisling is not in position to be easy to move to Research, just forget about her or it will consume all your mission.
I've farmed about 20 exalts from betrayal over the last couple days and it is by far the most currency I ever had. Betrayal really is quite fun. I honestly ran Catarina as soon as I got T3 Aisling in research, I never even considered getting more ready - if I got Leo or Vorici in research at T3, that was a nice bonus, but never something I focused on. Also, I had no idea that sextant modifier for double intelligence existed! That will be super useful. Did you use any other sextant modifiers, other than Jun? Any scarabs or fragments? Oh yeah, and selling on TFT as a new user... it honestly didn't seem like a problem for a while, and then I struggled to sell my Aisling for like an hour. I even responded to some WTBs and they just told me they didn't like my rank. (I actually had 11 vouches at the time - all of them from betrayal benches and some for very valuable items... but, of course, they couldn't know that) I eventually decided to just do some boss carries until I at least got trusted. I'll see if that helps any... (Surprisingly many people wanted Catarina carries, ironically) But I have to agree - Betrayal is actually quite simple. It looks complicated and intimidating at first, but the mechanics aren't too hard to understand and the only difficulty is really in planning ahead. I usually realise I made a mistake moments after clicking the button, where it occurs to me that doing something in a different order or something like that would have been slightly better. For the most part, though, it's relatively easy and you quickly learn what you need to do.
That's my biggest fear, getting into Jun but failing to sell Aisling Vorici because of my TFT rank. I've only sold Harvest crafts and hideouts, so I'm not close to ranking up yet, but one day....
can you tell me how do u farm the missions? i spam maps and always get Alva missions instead of Junn(took all the betrayal nodes for extra mission on completion)
I was planning to do this strat at the end of week one but aisling was barely 1ex back then so I gave up after a few mastermind kill. But now that it's almost 3ex again it's definitely one of the most chill way to make currency (and level up xD)
I left poe a lot of leagues before and just returned, I remembered enjoying syndicate farming and watching guide videos of it. So I try to refresh my memories, and to my surprise(or not), I landed to your video again. Always thankful for how easy your videos are to understand in current mechanics of syndicate. I have one question though, iirc you can leave a branch at 100% research to block them from appearing in an encounter, is that still a viable strat?
Nice video! I have some questions. T4 It That Fled in Research will upgrade the breachstone randomly or 1 tier higher or always pure? And if 1 safehouse has 100% intelligence by the time you run the the Matermind then next time that safehouse will be ready to run initially as well right?
The Betrayal Nodes mandatory, around 20 points or so including pathing. Everything else (>100 points) personal preference for what you want in your maps. Unsure as to what it would be unspecced!
Awesome video! I've been farming syndicate for a few leagues now and I still learned a bunch from this vid. Neat trick with situationally unspeccing out of Intelligence Gathering, kinda painful to think I could've been doing that the whole time but never thought about it ^^ I'd like to ask, what would your syndicate strategy be like in a league start scenario? Since Catarina uniques are worth a lot more while aisling and other services are worth a lot less. (off topic, if you want to zoom zoom as skellie mages consider dropping zombies or adding another unset ring for shield charge, the "increases to minion attack speed also apply to you" node on the passive tree along with the extra quality from ashes of the stars makes it feel super smooth)
Great question! The main difference to my understanding is that higher tier maps increases the chances of members coming in through portals to support the initial member present in the syndicate encounter, making it easier/faster to rank up members! I am unsure as to how significant this effect is.
Pog Video. I have been printing money with this mechanic ever since Betrayal. And even though I was skeptical about the rework at first, after testing in that league (i belive it wsa ritual or ultimatum) ... I thought it to be the best thing. The only thing I disagree with in this video is the 20 mission board. I would just run the mastermind, and reset the board. I would never fish for a perfect board if Aisling is not on the board at all or if she is leader of Transp/Fortif (which don't even show up in every map).
That's true! In a few of my Mastermind cycles I gave up on Aisling if I identified everyone and she wasn't on the board, and I would recommend others do the same! Forgot to mention it in the video. It can be super frustrating to cycle members out and get unlucky time and time again, better to just run the Mastermind and reset the board.
well then the others would still accumulate int on their safehouses despite the single safehouse resetting to 0, but thinking about it unless you dont have the other safehouses near completion it would just be a waste of time if you have everything setup already(?)
Yo @Daykun thanks for the video, but you should really put a note about the differences between your atlas tree in the video vs. your link. It's really frustrating when there are unexplained differences and we don't know which to follow and why (shaping the seas vs. shaping the valleys)
WHOOPS! A mistake that I made when building the Atlas tree in that link! I meant to take Shaping the Seas, rather than Shaping the Valleys. I've revised the link in the description. My bad, thanks for catching that!
Yes, Imprisoning them is one way. Sometimes you can get the option to “Betray” another member if they are in the same safehouse branch or have a trusted relationship, which will also give downrank options. This is more random and rare. Alternatively, running a safehouse branch or the Mastermind will downrank them as well.
How are you dealing with some hillocks crafts? I wait on average about 40 minutes for somebody to whisper me for flask/weapon/armour quality and need to afk in mastermind hideout. Aisling is mostly fine and vorici too, but hillocks is so bad.
I didn't have that issue at time of video release, so likely as the league has gotten older, less people need that craft. I would say for flasks, I bought "Oldroth's Resolve" which is 1ex, but sells for 2.5ex when it is 28% quality. For weapon/armor, I got no idea, and would likely just not try selling if it takes so long, and put him into Intervention if possible for the Winged Abyss Scarab.
Did they change the wording of the sextant? Its "100% increased Intelligence gained from Immortal Syndicate targets encountered in your Maps". Am I still sane?
Oh wtf?!?!?! It seems yes that has been changed. I'm unsure if it makes a difference, but they potentially "shadow"-nerfed the specific approach here with that mid-league sextant change, but I'm not free to log in and check at the moment.
@@Daykun have you tested this in 3.18? i tried and it didn't work for me. Maybe i did something wrong but it doesnt seems to work with leaders intelligence. I interrogated 3 leaders with the sextant but after 1 map I'm at 60% mastermind intelligence.
Hi Day. The past couple days you traded me a couple times for syndicate intel missions. I mentioned to you I really appreciated your vids over the years, especially syndicate farming, which earned me my first Headhunter during Delirium league. Then I got to wondering, does Daykun have another Syndicate video for 3.17 (I haven't played in a few leagues and need to update my Syndicate understanding)? Lo and behold, the video appears. This is definitely my plan for my next farming strat. I have 57 Jun sextants stockpiled from sextant rolling, and I'm super excited to try this out. Thank you again for your amazing content. Really appreciate it. My goal this league is Mageblood, and I think with this strat, I might be able to get it!
Ive been a syndicate fanboy since it came out, and i was just wonder since the new changes, the members dont have to be the leader to be T4 right?? Just be in that hideout and be T3 and itll be T4 when u do mastermind
Without the proper rank on TFT you can't do much, most of the time you will waste for waiting for a buyer and reposting your offer every 10 minutes so instead of making money you are waisting time doing basically nothing. And with no rank I had to go down with Aisling to 1 or 1.5ex to even get it sold after 20-30 minutes (and in that time you can't play the game beside some alt/aug crafting). That's why I run mastermind only when I knew that I will have something else to do beside playing PoE. Other problem is that most of the time people are posting Aisiling sales for like 2ex every minute. The chances to pick up your offer are really low. So in the end the most of the profit cames from breachstones upgrades and winged scarabs.
You have mechanics unlocked that I do not at lvl 85. I definitely don't think this is something for early on/beginners to do. I thought this is something I wanted to do, because I really enjoy the Syndicate mechanic, but you just proved to me it's not feasible for me. I don't have any of those items you're showing. My MAPS map doesn't have those 4 squares to put Charged Compass in. I also don't have fluent knowledge of the market and/or trading skills that are obviously required to run this farming strategy.
FINALLY someone who explains Betrayal in a concise fashion. I've watched dozens of betrayal videos and it's always just people rambling about their experience. This video was clearly thought out and is a proper tutorial, explaining how to maximise profit and the methodology properly.
Thank you so much!!
I actually learned how to do Syndicate farming from your video a year ago. Great to see you update this.
Syndicate is life
I'm new to POE and I've rewatched this 3 times in the past two days. This is SUCH a good guide on a pretty fun looking mechanic!
It is pretty fun. Do you liked grinding IT?
It is amazing that you made such a concise and informative video with in-depth testing and spreadsheet work WHILE being a medical student! Keep up the great work, lots of love from BC
For the first time YT has recommended a good channel, such a good surprise!
I'm 2 minutes into the video but already subbed, let's do it :D
Really glad to see you making some videos again, they are always really high quality and I enjoy watching them
Love your videos man pls never leave us again :)
As a fellow Syndicate lover. . .I have to say I TOTALLY missed the sextant mod that you highlighted (100% gain). That strategy of immediately proccing Catarina to set up your board without bother of having to run safehouses is really nice.
100% int gain sextant is not available anymore?
Hi, you are quickly becoming my favourite poe TH-cam, thanks for the great work and keep it up!
Thank you! ^_^
I thought I knew syndicate but you did teach me 1 thing. The sextant to gain extra safehouse experience is a huge mission saver. Very well put together video.

This is such a good video. And you have a pleasant voice to listen to. Keep it up :)
This was by far the best guide on betrayal ever. I ran Catarina with only Aisling rank 3 but after reading the atlas passives with extra upgrades it sounds so much easier. I am respeccing into this and learning this mechanic as i think it will be helpful
This video was so informative on details of Betrayal. It's a mechanic I find very fun even without knowing it well. Thank you very much!
Perfectly explained content & video! Rarely come across videos that are so well presented!
am i learning for university or playing a game here?
Is the first time i understand a betrayal video and ive watched all of the popular creators or streamers. Good freaking job
Thanks for this, Betrayal is my favorite content in the game and I have gone all-in on it since the atlas passive tree was implemented. All this is info is still mostly useful today and I definitely learned quite a bit from this video, thank you very much!

I'm having trouble working out how to hide all but T1 veiled items using filter blade. any suggestions?
Hey man you have some quality content. Definitely need to pump out some more videos! Keep up the good work
nothing like watching a video about path of spreadsheet
Having only 1000 hours in game I Really needed simple guide for syndicate and now i found it. And I can confirm that syndicate is multiple times easier with new atlas tree.
Having a lot of fun with this in 3.20. The big profitable days are over, but every Catarina Safehouse feels like Christmas :D

I confirmed it this league! The wording is different but it still works exactly the same fortunately :)
at 19:31 after running Catarina does the initial members stay the same? We can see there's a minimum of 2 unidentified members
Not sure if you still read comments (or if you already figured this out yourself), but if you travel on the left side up in the atlas tree (past the essencenodes you have), and to the full right side down (towards the big betrayal wheel), you can save a few atlaspoints ;)
Impressive and amazing work. Well done & thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! Much appreciated.
Glad to have you back :)
very cool. I play standard and just use syndicate for myself, but this is very useful info. thanks!
My pleasure! I'm glad you can still find it valuable!

Has to be the most nuanced ARPG in existence.
Day, this was super helpful, curious if Cemetery is a decent map to run these? I’ve been doing Expedition with Syndicate stuff.
I'll definitely be trying this out in ssf, the sextant Strat is very cool!
Do you kill Catarina first and post in TFT after, or post in TFT first, find a buyer, and then do Catarina?
Hey Day, great video! Have a question, you mentioned purposely having 2 syndicate houses maxed before doing Catarina, I have a character for boss rushing and the node for 10 int allocated. Hi, general question here. If I do betrayal in Tier1 maps can I still Aisling slam high ilevel items? Like ilevel 83?
Nothing to comment on the video per se, just cudos - syndicate/betrayal lover myself, I am running it since I´ve started playing the game. All I want is the +2 to Level of Socketed Support Gems enchant. I'm so confused.
Whats that build you were using later on with omni ts? 9:20 into the video, can you send pob?

Dude how do you get to so many Jun missions? I find rarely ones... :/
What maps do you run with Singular Focus?
Thank you for the video man. Well done. I do have to wonder how you have ran all that content and not heard Aisling name said correctly. Jun says it.
Haha I think it’s because I have my dialogue audio turned off! I play usually with just loot sounds and play music :p
Is this still up to date or has betrayal changed too much now?
Still find it helpful after 2 years, please consider making an updated one for 3.24 since there is so much change in terms of reward

(I actually had 11 vouches at the time - all of them from betrayal benches and some for very valuable items... but, of course, they couldn't know that)
I eventually decided to just do some boss carries until I at least got trusted. I'll see if that helps any... (Surprisingly many people wanted Catarina carries, ironically)
But I have to agree - Betrayal is actually quite simple.
@@Saskobest Just buy charged compasses for Jun
Is the tier list the same this league? :)
I’ve been making a killing farming betrayal. Great mechanic.
Great video , earned the sub and like for sure
Nice video! I have some questions. T4 It That Fled in Research will upgrade the breachstone randomly or 1 tier higher or always pure? And if 1 safehouse has 100% intelligence by the time you run the the Matermind then next time that safehouse will be ready to run initially as well right?
T4 in that fled gives you 2 benches to upgrade stones to pure version.
I believe Aisling needs to be the leader in order to get 2 of her craft?
how important are the atlas points for using this strategy? rough estimate for profits using this method not specced into it?
The Betrayal Nodes mandatory, around 20 points or so including pathing. Everything else (>100 points) personal preference for what you want in your maps. Unsure as to what it would be unspecced!
Oh is it no longer the rank4 rewards only on the leader?
Leaders have been gutted :( Now any member can earn rank 4 rewards, so long as they are rank 3 by the time you run the Mastermind Safehouse.
Awesome video! I've been farming syndicate for a few leagues now and I still learned a bunch from this vid. Neat trick with situationally unspeccing out of Intelligence Gathering, kinda painful to think I could've been doing that the whole time but never thought about it ^^
I'd like to ask, what would your syndicate strategy be like in a league start scenario? Since Catarina uniques are worth a lot more while aisling and other services are worth a lot less.
(off topic, if you want to zoom zoom as skellie mages consider dropping zombies or adding another unset ring for shield charge, the "increases to minion attack speed also apply to you" node on the passive tree along with the extra quality from ashes of the stars makes it feel super smooth)
How do we sustain master missions?
Thanks for making another video of Syndicate mechanism.
What's the difference of doing white tier and red tier Jun Mission?
It can be super frustrating to cycle members out and get unlucky time and time again, better to just run the Mastermind and reset the board.
genuine question: cant you just basically open the safehouse but not run it instead of respeccing of off int gathering?
well then that resets ur safehouse intelligence completely instead of having it stay at ~90%
well then the others would still accumulate int on their safehouses despite the single safehouse resetting to 0, but thinking about it unless you dont have the other safehouses near completion it would just be a waste of time if you have everything setup already(?)
@@Daykun No problem man - I kindve figured it was meant to be Seas. Cheers and thanks again
Just to be clear, the only way to downrank a member is to Interrogate/Imprison them?
Yes, Imprisoning them is one way. Sometimes you can get the option to “Betray” another member if they are in the same safehouse branch or have a trusted relationship, which will also give downrank options. This is more random and rare. Alternatively, running a safehouse branch or the Mastermind will downrank them as well.
What about an autobomber for speed farming Syndicate ?
@@Daykun aye. Did that flask aswell, because I am playing cwdt build And people buying that, but you need to snipe perfect rolled one.
@@Daykun Thx for the reply. Guess we will find out sooner or later. Have a good one.
@@FreeEnricoPalazzo Did they change it?
@@Daykun have you tested this in 3.18? i tried and it didn't work for me. Maybe i did something wrong but it doesnt seems to work with leaders intelligence. I interrogated 3 leaders with the sextant but after 1 map I'm at 60% mastermind intelligence.
@@Noah-zr7zd Worked for me in 3.17. Like in the video explained. No clue about 3.18 tho.
o bro i was doing this mechanic and getting some money but now will be better
Haha yes I remember! Thanks for the kind words! I hope things go well :)
Ive been a syndicate fanboy since it came out, and i was just wonder since the new changes, the members dont have to be the leader to be T4 right?? Just be in that hideout and be T3 and itll be T4 when u do mastermind
Correct!
Love the videos man, keep them coming :))
Why someone buy leo exalt slam for 4ex? Ig u can exalt slam for exalt?
Good video, I learned a lot, will sub for more content in future 👍
i have a like 90 missions stored aside.. interesting !
For future reference, it’s pronounced Ashling.
rip me
@@Daykun lol, I used to say it that way too, until I saw an interview with someone with that name.
Very good tutorial.
Great video.
