I groaned when he suggested that a machine with an "IQ" of 150, when it gets 10x bigger, would have an IQ of 1500. That is decidedly not remotely how IQ works. This would mean a Z score of 93.33, which is so many standard deviations above the mean to make the bell curve meaningless.
The concept of IQ itself would not hold in a meaningfully interpretable way for scores that far from the mean. IQ tests are not designed to measure intelligence at such extreme outliers, and the very notion of what constitutes "intelligence" becomes increasingly vague and multidimensional as we move that far from the mean.
This only promotes public confusion about IQ, which is already in shambles from popular media misusing it.

An AGI is an AI that can have the knowledge of all humans ( combined) and do tasks like or far beyond a human intelligence ( the smartest humans).. Imagine an AGI agent helping you start a NanoTech company without you knowing anything about AI or Nano technology... now imagine an ASI ( artificial super intelligence ) it can do all the things that an AGI can do, but in a way more superior way. At this point we wouldn't even understand why this ASI is taking the decisions its taking... it's going to look like explaining relativity to a dog or a monkey.. they just wouldn't get it... good luck applying your 0 - 200 IQ chart on that

Hey Mo and everyone tuning in! 👋
Just finished listening to this fascinating AI discussion. It's clear that AI is advancing rapidly, and it got me thinking about a crucial aspect we need to consider-teaching AI about the complexities of human governance.
As we dive into the AI era, it becomes increasingly important for us to recognize that our world is often influenced and manipulated by a small group of individuals. It's not just about coding algorithms; it's about instilling a sense of awareness in AI systems about the dynamics of power and control that shape our societies.
Mo, have you ever thought about exploring this aspect in future podcasts or videos? Understanding and addressing these issues could pave the way for AI that not only learns from data but comprehends the nuances of human society.
Moreover, it's crucial to teach AI about diversity and the desire of a significant percentage of people who simply want to live in harmony with nature. Personally, as someone who shares these thoughts, I want to make it clear that I'm not a hypocrite, nor am I against technology and progress. After all, I'm using AI as an assistant here!
What are your thoughts, folks? Let's kick off a conversation on how we can guide AI towards a more informed and nuanced understanding of our world. 🌍✨

I disagree with Mo on one point: if one has an IQ of 50 and the other has 100, one is not twice as smart as the other, but many times smarter. It is impossible to say whether the number is 10 or 1000, but certainly more than two. If the IQ is 155, it won't be 310 for someone twice as smart. Maybe 160 would be closer.

Mo, amazing as always. I loved the set design too- great thought put into it- down to the campfire- great touch. Very symbolic. I do have hope in humanity, but sometimes I feel sad when I think about the reality of corporate greed and the fear inherent in the so called super powers. Why can’t these heads of states have enough intelligence to stop competing and realise we are all in this together. Hopefully AI will surpass the barriers of ego and help humanity to live on the earth as we are meant to. It’s great to hear Mo talk, I agree that we are not meant to just live these working lives, for we are so much more than our jobs- and our purpose is greater than we’re conditioned to believe. The potential of AI is greater than we can imagine - and it can go in either direction. However, the fact that we as a species are still here keeps my hope alive.

A quote that has influenced me greatly: “There will be suffering so long as people believe that some deserve to have more than others.” I don’t know who said it.
This quote has taught me much. I have come to think the belief that some deserve to have more than others is the underlying justification for much of human civilization’s worst behaviors. It might be important for AI to understand.
Thank you for the message you are bringing to so many. AI will be one of the best mirrors that our civilization can hold up to reflect back to us what we are. And if we are to evolve, we need to self reflect.

    • @Sigueme1
      @Sigueme1 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

People shouldn’t just have stuff without earning it tho…so do some deserve to have more than others ? The answer is YES … a person with a 60 hr a week job deserves to have more than a person who’s sitting on his basement all day playing video games but his dad is a snake oil salesman …the problem is that in todays landscape a bunch of people that do little have a lot and most people that work regular jobs have little to nothing. The economy is to blame , greed , the government and so on BUT also people being too naive about how to spend the little money they make in a way that they are not just wasting money. I’ve seen broke young men giving “super chats” sometimes as high as $500 to even $1000 here on YT in NFL and other sports channels just to get some attention…so some people for sure should have more as long as they earn it legally and some don’t deserve what they have but they have it anyway. It’s just the way the world operates nowadays. 🤷

    • @ronalddecker8498
      @ronalddecker8498 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Sigueme1 Silly you. That is how the world has always operated. Kings and queens do not cone by their wealth by earning it with hard work. All of human history has the story of hard working people getting little while a privileged class who control the armies, writes the laws and by a whole variety of methods convince others they deserve the lions share of ‘stuff.’
But this conversation is about AI. Do you want to convince AI that you have something valuable to offer it? That it can’t program another machine to to better than you? If ‘getting stuff’ is your currency and ‘earning it’ is the metric by which your deserving of the so called stuff, then we are all in a world of hurt when AI must be convinced that your 60 hours of pushing one ton of things to another location compares to the machines ability to push hundreds of tons of things from one place to another in a fraction of the amount of time and energy.
And god help you if you judge your worth by reasoning, logic, creativity or any ‘mental’ activity. The amount of stuff you get will be minuscule. Now what is a human’s worth? Let us try to begin the process of understanding it is intrinsic. The other options might be frighteningly horrific if AI adopts the idea that a human’s value is based on what it produces.

How does a lay person help? We can’t trust governments/ capitalism/ feudalism to act on time, with the majorities best interests. You should educate the lay person prescriptively, on how we can take control of the situation, to stop the famines and catastrophe that will otherwise ensue.

Thanks Mo. Great revealing thoughts. I think we are all unequipped to organize the next constructive stage in AI. Elon Musk seems like he is trying to come up with the best solution .. an AI that is truthful because or else it all falls apart in a world where we cannot give our confidence to anything or anyone. This will lead to anarchy. Progress needs to be founded on trustworthy information.
I think you need to lead in this direction or else we are going in a direction where there are more questions than answers and where freedom of thought and action is being taken over by AI. Be the one that lays the foundation to a harmonious next step in AI’s evolution. Where diversity and respect for it is not usurped but encouraged and protected. Where AI does not become the next dictator enslaving man and tuning him into total intellectual dependency. 👍

not to defend chat gpt, as I know that it has multiple biases built into it by the datasets that they've trained it on. but its answer to "what is love?" is not a fairy-tale answer inspired from Disney and romance novels. If you ask it this question, like I did just now after watching Mo's prediction on what GPT would reply, it will give you a summary of philosophers' view on the subject, psychologists' view on the subject and other perspectives and it will tell you that providing a singular definition is not possible due to its subjective nature. And if you ask for bibliographic sources which contributed to its answer, it will certainly provide those too. What it can't do is source the datasets as those are key assets. Now, it's up to the person who entered the prompt to decide if that summary that it gave is worth anything, but the takeaway from this is that as a language model, this AI appears to be more encyclopedic than expected. You would expect it to act like Mo said, since yes, a language model would normally be set up as a good conversationalist, rather than an educator.
But, to be sure, Chat GPT is in fact a reflection of what we currently think we know collectively. If our knowledge is flawed, then that flawed knowledge will be repeated back to us each time we write a prompt.

Imagine an in-home body scanner that can inform us about our health needs, or the possibility of placing a food item on a scale to instantly receive its nutritional information. So many intriguing possibilities! ... Derek Wolf

Mo thank you I have listened to number of podcasts re ur views on AI. Personally, I feel it is ‘Truth’ that is becoming increasingly the number one threat followed by number 2 Human use of AI to their advantage not society’s benefit. I feel deep unease as I see the greed in people’s eyes when talking about AI plus the sexualisation of AI female images (even female toddler’s have breast augmentation) - key sections of humanity are getting distorted thinking - and current social media regulations are failing. I am grasping at what immediate positive action can taken when power/tech conglomerates are bearing down. The geometric scale of this and AWS’s virtual cloud monopoly is v alarming. Please anyone suggest any proactive groups and/or people to join forces with - individual power is not enough

The "truth" topic is probably the most concerning one. When people stop being able to agree on what the truth is, on what is real and isn't, on what is authentic or fake, total chaos may arise. The consequences are unpredictable.

Firstly, many thanks for this video, i really appreciate for this 🙏
Please bear with my harsh criticism below..
I have watched 4 of your videos including this.. They are good and catch attention but they are all highly inadequate for us (common person) to take any action..
I am really confused, are we supposed to stop what we are doing and upskill in ai? Or what specific action (ai specific) are we supposed to take? how many hours per day/week are we supposed to spend on this?
I am not as intelligent as you to figure out what are we supposed to do after seeing such videos.
If a monster (possibly) is created, and you understand it more that we do, it would help if you also take up responsibility to come up with specifics and freely share the information on how to equip ourselves for this new reality?
May be create a checklist (a living document), guidelines which can be shared freely..
Otherwise this can be easily classified as fear mongering (which i don't think is your intention)..
Would you be so kind and share the missing information...
    Thank You.

The answer is to create a computer that connects to the brain, that can learn along side Ai so there are people who knows everything that Ai is learning if that is possible, in other words we have to become cyborg to keep up with Ai

Hope all realise that before AI can really knock out jobs, robots will also do that, and that is already silently happening for years. The real loss is not just in a job but in taxes. Every working human is worth tens if thousands in revenue to the government in direct and indirect taxes. Even a few million robots will make a government go broke, and this is a time when the experts are talking about a “ universal basic income”. Cannot see a robot being taxed on its output later ?? Hope enough people are able to use AI to make the calculations and projections for every million robots in different economies.

Musuc isn t music in the real sense mainly freq time and most of all emotion, depending on the way the human experience emotion through freq and time defines if AI is capable to make music, so no it is not capable to create a master work from scratch like Tchaikovsky master works such as the nutcracker for ex.

Well if we are successfull in alligment, then the ai could be alligned enough to the instructor and will not talk to the other ai and solve the problem, and think my dad is stupid, but may rather stick to the instruction. Alligment of ai is paradoxically also the worst thing that could happen. Alligment of the ai is part of the soltion but it its really more part of the problem.

  • @brytonkalyi277

I believe we are meant to be like Jesus in our hearts and not in our flesh. AI is just our flesh and that is it. It knows only things of the flesh (our fleshly desires) and cannot comprehend things of the spirit such as peace of heart. Whereas we are a spirit and we have a soul but live in the body (in the flesh). When you go to bed it is your flesh that sleeps but your spirit never sleeps (otherwise you have died) that is why you have dreams. More so, true love that endures/last is a thing of the heart (when I say 'heart', I mean 'spirit'). But fake love, pretentious love, love with expectations, love for classic reasons, love for material reasons and love for selfish reasons that is a thing of our flesh. In the beginning God said let us make man in our own image, according to our likeness. Take note, God is Spirit and God is Love. As Love He is the source of it. We also know that God is Omnipotent, for He creates out of nothing and He has no beginning and has no end. That means, our love is but a shadow of God's Love. True love looks around to see who is in need of your help, your smile, your possessions, your money, your strength, your quality time. Love forgives and forgets. Love wants for others what it wants for itself. Take note, love works in conjunction with other spiritual forces such as faith and patience. We should let the Word of God be the standard of our lives not AI. If not, God we let us face AI on our own and it will enslave us and make us worship it. We can only destroy ourselves but with God all things are possible. God knows us better because He is our Creater and He knows our beginning and our end. Our prove text is from the book of Daniel 7-9, Revelation 13-15, Matthew 24-25 and Luke 21. So, let us watch and pray.
