Many years back (43 years) I had a Anschutz half-auto, my first rifle. It was a take-down, you could take it down in two parts. It was the front and barrel and action and back stock together. Very handy for a young kid who had to walk the streets to go out off town to practise:) It did not show in my small back-pack that I had a weapon with me. I later sold that rifle to buy a shotgun and still I remember that rifle. It was a good gun and I learned alot from it. But to your videos/channel (youtube).Good stuff and plesure to follow, alot of good solid material about guns and scopes witch I like. I thank you for that. I have not been in this shooting stuff competition realm yet but watched from a far for some years now. My shooting has been done while hunting, everything from birds to moose on land and sea. But now just so happens that I have bought a Remington 700 competition rig in 6,5 creed, That is Remington 700 action, tuned to perfection, in a Spuhr sics chassis with a heavy barrel and Area 419 muzzle-brake. The scope on that thing is Leupold Mark4 hd 6-24x52. Have not gotten it yet but it is on the way, But anyway, thanx for the videos and Greetings from far north in Norway (Mehamn in Finnmark).
I am new to precision shooting I have CZ457 At One and I am doing fairly well. I follow precision shooting content to learn on how to hold my rifle, placement of hands etc. but I must compliment you on being the most accurate shooter I have found! Yes you have to have properly setup equipment but to me it is the person behind the equipment. Bravo!! 👏 and keep up the excellent videos.
I have an Anschütz .22lr with a normal bolt and wood stock. I didn’t know what I had until my gun shop owner friend told me. My dad bought it when I was a little kid.
It’s been a while, but I don’t believe any rifle other than Anschutz has ever placed in the top 3 or top 10 in the Olympic Games going back some time. The “cheap” version of this rifle with wood stock is over $4K last I looked. I don’t have a problem spending that, but my wife definitely does 😅.
In Olympic Biathlon, Anschutz is still the dominant rifle. In the precision 50m 3-Position event, Anschutz was the primary medal winner until about 2000. Since then most medal winners have been using newer innovative designs by Grunig Elmiger, Bleiker, and Walther (priced $7000-10,000)
Its because very few companies do proper biathlon guns plus sponsorships reign supreme when it comes to olympics just look at the trap and skeet. Almost all the shooters are sponsored by beretta and perazzi. Yet there are plenty of other capable guns.
@@Papadragon-7 The primary improvement of the newer designs is a more a rearward loading port, making the single shot rifles easier to load while in position. Even Anschutz’s newer 54.30 design still has the loading port further forward than the competitors. The most prominent rifles currently in competition are the German Walther KK500 and Feinwerkbau 2800, and the Swiss Grunig & Elmiger R3 and Bleiker Challenger. The rifles have similar amounts of stock adjustability (essentially every piece of the stock can be adjusted), and similar quality triggers. The Swiss rifles come in at higher price point because each rifle is tested with multiple barrels to find the greatest accuracy, while the german brands typically install one factory barrel and ship, so theres a chance you might get one with a great barrel that shoots excellent, but odds are you’ll get an average barrel with average performance (which all things considered, will still be very accurate, but perhaps just not as accurate as it could be with another barrel) In World Cups and the Olympics electronic targets with decimal scoring are used, meaning you can score 8.6, 9.5, 10.1 etc… with a perfect center shot being a 10.9. In a 10 shot string, a perfect score would shooting ten 10.9’s for a total score of 109. With accuracy testing, the best rifles are usually capable of shooting around 107.5. I couldn’t find an exact MOA comparison, but i’d say shooting a 10.5 and above group would be approximately .5 MOA. Anschutz has started to release its new 22 MAX model, with a unique straight-pull/rotating bolt design, which may prove to bring Anschutz back into the top levels of performance, but not too many people have their hands on it yet. The approximate price of the German rifles (Anschutz, Walther, Feinwerkbau) are $5000-7000, while the Swiss rifles (Grunig & Elmiger, Bleiker) go for $8000-11,000.
I couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for a .22. Around here .22 are starter rifles for kids and just for plinking. Maybe this would be a good lottery buy. Or maybe a trip to Caesars and his summer😉. But as always a great video
Let's face it, that's one cool rifle! I would love to have that blue one or any rifle that nice, to be honest. You're a hard worker and a fortunate man. Glad to see that your hard work is paying off for you. Now you just have to find a place to put your stuff so your wife won't get you.
I believe anschutz now come with a lapua super long range test target to the UK and the one I've seen crazy good and at 100m which I thought was odd as mine are all at 50 m My two 1710s have never really got on with eley but SK lrm is great May just have to sell a arm or something lol Great video ray 👍
Is it really cold bore, or just initial fouling, or rather clearing the barrel of initial crud? I shoot a lot of pistol, and have one pistol that routinely throws it a little right on the first shot after sitting for a few days. But it always does it whether in really cold or really hot weather. And if I shoot a double match over a whole day, it doesn’t shift during my afternoon series? Thanks and love your channel. So helpful.
Ray can you please help me. I really trust your opinion and knowledge base. My problem is I have had a custom Zermatt RimX build on order for 9 months. Now with the quality control problems with the RimX bolt I don't know if I will ever see the rifle or want it. I have a fantastic custom Kidd 10/22 that I used last year to do extremely well in New England PRS. Problem No. 2 is I can't use that gun anymore in MA for matches because it's now illegal to travel there from out of state because its Semi. I need to find a gun soon for this season. Would you buy a Anschütz-Accuracy International Fortner 1727F or a Victrix. Thanks so much, Bill
Hello Bill, The Anschütz is a great rifle but the action is definitely unconventional. While I am aware of the Rim-x problems there are still a ton of other bolt action 22’s out there. The Victrix is nice but it’s also very expensive as well. I actually had to give the Victrix back to them as they needed it for advertising. More on that at a later time. Has Vudoo disappeared completely ?
Thanks, Ray. I know you have to kinda be non biased. 22's are is very finnicky too. If cost wasn't an issue and all were on a table which one would you pick up? By the way I love my Zeiss S3!!!! Keep up the excellent content, Bill
Does chassis system matter much on 22s? There's no recoil so i dont know why people spend so much on chassis for 22s. Barrell and ammno is all u need for accuracy
For positional PRS style events, many people prefer the adjustability of the chassis systems. Needed? No but I think they do make a difference in overall fit to the shooter.
Great to see this getting some traction. Love the concept rifle they launched at the iwa seen here at 8.05 th-cam.com/video/7L3G5IbRBIE/w-d-xo.html This has the potential to shake up the PR22 world for sure 💥
Yeah sure you wish us a happy weekend. Why do I feel like you made this video just to TORTURE ME? You are a great shooter, that flick of the wrist takes some getting used to. I just could not get used to just the easy flick I wanted to close it hard like a bolt action, but you are right it doesn't take that. I had the pleasure of doing some lot testing with one in a GRS stock bedded by the Anschutz performance center it is the most professional bedding I have ever seen. They test with RWS50 and because the rifle was purchased there, they allowed him to buy to different lots to test with. I had this thing just about out of my memory, and you go and do this video. NOT COOL.

The Anschutz is crazy accurate. Love the action as well. Thanks for footage Ray. Have a great weekend sir.
Another great video by the Grande Lux himself!
it’s right for me … after the lottery hits … awesome video … great production
Slick action for sure....and also, sometimes a guy just wants a new rifle, and we get that, Ray! 😂 Excellent video, as always. Thanks, sir.
Dang!! That's slick!! Long way from my trusty old mod 54, eh! Great video, splendid shooting. Warm regards & all the best from Malta, Europe.
Beautiful piece of equipment
Leave it to Ray he always gets ahold of the best toys. Hope you and the family are having a great holiday season buddy!

Great review Ray, that looks so smooth and easy to use, might have to start another piggyback for one of those, cheers Yogi ✌️
The Savage budget series was awesome…as are all of your vids!
The fortner action is the dream.
Sweet rifles! That Fortner action dam! Ray, enjoy it when you get it! Awesome shooting!🤘
This is a Top Tier review for THE Top Tier 22. - Thanks fer sharing.

Super demonstration
The action alone gives this rifle a competitive edge !
Great video
Great video, thanks for sharing.

Man that’s nice! Might need to sell my Vudoo and get that.
Would love to see more videos on there victrix
I loved this rifle!

Great content.
I'd really like to see you testing the Anschutz 1710 PRS against the Victrix. That'd be comparing apples to apples and oranges to oranges.
dream , thanks great video

Well Done !!!
You should bring em down to Josh’s long gong match in a couple weeks.
have a sporter in 17hmr and picked up my AI chassis 1727 in 22lr from Anschutz ~ 6 months ago . Shot it Wed with my son ,. its awesome
I love your videos man 🤝🫡
Thank you Zayne! 👍🏼
Thanks for pronouncing Anschütz correctly.
Now he should try "Zipfelklatscher"
No.
I'm not a precision shooter, but always wanted a Arctic Warfare for no reason (blame it on Counter-Strike)... and a Nissan 300ZX 🤤

Impressive !
Great review! Mag extensions are available and they work great. Also, the weights you are running are the small ones. AT-X weights are larger/heavier.
Cadex vs AI Vs Barett which better in terms of realiablity and acuracy for war?
12 round mags?
I had a 1413 position rifle, very accurate rifle.
This is wicked

Awesome rifles, great video. I thought my 457 was cool lol
I have one in a grs stock with a 16in barrel. It was a limited run years ago. Its stupid the end. ❤
If I had the money for only one. (but i don't) I'd be for the Victrix. Thanks Ray
