I have a 2023 Kicks, and I still like it. If I eventually move to the new version, I will get the SR. The red color looks nice. The transmission gives me excellent gas mileage.
8:20 That has changed actually. Its the new CVT-XS, a mini-me version of the new CVT-X, introduced brand new just this year for the '24 Sentra and now the '25 Kicks. Torque rating is much better, its chain driven, and has wider ratio spread, with dual pumps and lower frictional losses.
They have progressively made their CVTs better each generation, and this is a chain style similar to Subarus and introduced brand new for '24 in the Sentra and now '25 for the Kicks is the 2nd vehicle to get it. Their first and second gen CVTs were bad, but we're on the fifth gen now, let it go.
@@BoopSnoot I won’t let it go….i foolishly bought a 2023 Murano with the so called newer model CVT and it’s still like driving with a rubber band as a transmission and I live in fear of how long it will last…don’t tell me how to feel dude, you don’t know me
@@bradley7506 No you didn't. You really don't know what you're talking about. The Murano uses the Jatco JF010E, designed in 2006. Its a very old design and not refined like new ones where they have nearly two decades of advancements built in. Nissan learned from their mistakes from old CVTs like on your vehicle and the new one is the Jatco JF023E designed brand new in '24. Unlike your vehicle, the engine is only capable of producing 70% of the transmissions torque rating, meaning its hugely overbuilt and with 30K mile fluid changes should easily go 200K miles.
@@BoopSnoot well that will be seen over time. I hope you are right but there’s no way to know what you are saying is true without a track record. Hope you are right. My 2023 Murano has a newer version of the Xtronic CVT so time will tell. I just made a mistake I guess. I do maintain my vehicles very well and I drive less than 5000 miles a year and fully intend on changing out the transmission fluid every 30,000 miles….fingers crossed
@@bradley7506 XTronic is just a Nissan marketing term, they have called all their CVTs XTronic for a long time now. For example, marketing material for Sentra's 23 and earlier were called XTronic and the new transmission introduced for 24 is still called XTronic, but its a new design. Its just a trademark and basically means its a Jatco transmission. If someone wants a similar vehicle that uses a traditional automatic, the only one in class that doesn't use a CVT is the new turbocharged trim of the Kona/Seltos and the sister vehicles the Chevy Trax and Buick Envista.

what's ur height bro?
They know we don’t want their damn CVT and yet they refuse to dump it and go with regular transmission….
They don’t make a good CVT and they know it.

This review like all I've seen don't seem to be that great. Or at least not anything special. Especially the motor
