Joe praying for you and Lori's and your whole team down there for this monster of a storm. Be safe and Blessings
Great review as always. Stay safe this week Joe, Lori and Steven 🙏
My 31 year old daughter would like this one. I have to admit it's pretty sharp for a small SUV.
she told me she was 29
@@BoopSnoot😂
@@BoopSnootToo funny 😂
For $4,500 more, you can buy a new UX Lexus which will run for 200,000 miles, or about 150,000 miles past this Nissan Kick when its worthless JATCO CVT poops out right as the warranty ends.
But it is nicely appointed, so you can enjoy your surroundings, while you wait for your tow truck out on the lonely, deserted praries.
@@islanddon865I own a 2015 Altima that has 125,000 miles with original transmission. If it's maintained correctly and drove mostly on interstates like I do, those CVTs can go over 250,000 miles. It's actually been a better and more reliable traveler than the Camry I had for several years.
I love the Nissan Kicks & I feel like this is cool.
Nissan got this 1 right! Great new & greatly improved KICKS. Great review as always, thanks Joe. Keep’em coming. 👍🇺🇸
Most definitely, I love that they put the panoramic sunroof in there. And then they actually have really cool ambient lighting strip that goes all the way around the pano
Piece of junk Nissan. The cvt is trash, the motor is meh, and the styling is half Chevy truck, half catfish.
14:53 I love when they make the whole trunk area carpeted, on a lot of cars its plastic that gets scratched up in no time when you're tossing stuff back there! Also lights on both sides to avoid shadows, its the little things that matter.
Exactly. I have to take care of my grandmother and we have to put a wheelchair in the trunk. Any car with hard plastic sides gets scuffed and scratched up pretty quickly. So having it be carpeted will ease to protect the plastic underneath. It's a lot easier to clean that way too.
Raiti, when you see Mr Nissan San, tell him that I want a "Rock Creek" version of this with high profile big tires on 16" wheels!
Now we are talking!
I have been waiting for you to review and drive it since we first saw it in New York. I love the new design, it got loads of tech for a reasonable price. I think that's it's strength and appeal for it's target audience. The one you reviewed was the FWD, the AWD should give a better ride quality but at a higher cost.
Milton seems to be coming full throttle. Stay safe out there man.
Not bad to kick around in Joe. Hee hee 😊
Stay safe in the storm.
Cool suv but would have been better if they used this vehicle to introduce e-power to North America! Hopefully someone at Nissan HQ will see the light before it’s too late!
That would have been interesting to see
They should’ve worked with Toyota and made it.
i love your channel so much that i am watching it all the time everyday
The review I was waiting for 🚙👻
Thanks Joe 🙏🏼😎
and a BIGGG relief that its a non-Turbo review 🥹
I love the much more mature look of this new generation Kicks. The 2.0L inline 4 is a big upgrade and the overall growth of the vehicle is a plus. The two tone Arctic Blue and Black roof is in Joe's words "tasteful" thank you Joe and Steven as always!
The increased size and weight cancel out the upgraded inline 2.0L engine.
Missed the murano in that lineup but great review as always!!!
There’s a new Murano coming next year. Complete redesign.
They did a fantastic job with the design of the new kicks. Just like the new Buick Envista, it goes to show you that Cheap cars don’t have to be ugly nor have bland design. I have to say I would have a hard time choosing between the Buick and the new Kicks. If only they had a small hybrid in the Nissan, or they used the turbocharged engine from the last generation Sentra the 1.6👌💯 thanks for the review Joe❤
Never seen you so unexcited over a car
He's done it plenty 🤣🤣
Great review! Stay safe Joe! ❤
Hope you're having a good Monday, Joe.
I was driving a Nissan Kicks.
I would like the new Kicks to be sold in Japan as well.
I'm currently enjoying driving the X-Trail.
i love nissan and all thier line ups but how is you holding up joe with hurricane milton i hope and pray you safe
a Yugioh reference? that's a crossover we didn't know we needed.
I like to bring the unexpected
Another excellent Review and exceptional camerawork! Being with Nissan for over 14 years (Canada) It might be good to mention that the new Kicks (And all Nissan Rogues 2022 and newer) are now using the JATCO CVT-XS transmission - provides much better torque curve and wider ratios. Also, even the previous gen Kicks was not known by any stretch as having transmission problems. Sadly most of these earlier failures can be directly attributed to lack of maintenance, specifically changing out the CVT fluid. Most customers were ill informed when it came to the correct CVT fluid change intervals (60-80,000 KM or 45000-65000 miles) not 160,000 KM as many were advised to use. In any case, anyone driving a 22+ or this new Kicks will definitely appreciated the improved simulated shifting and response from the additional horsepower and improved torque. Thanks again to you and Lori Joe, stay safe!!!!
Only going to beat a bicycle in a race- 2 funny Joe. Appreciate the laughs. Stay safe as Milton targets West Florida!!! 🙏🙏🇺🇸
Nice video keep up the great work Joe
Joe it’s about time you review the Nissan kicks!!! I was waiting for only joe knows how to review cars 👍👍👍👍👍… thank you like always great review.. be safe joe!! We thinking pf you guys another hurricane coming!! God bless!!
A spare tire should be a mandatory inclusion with every vehicle and NOT a extra cost option. IMO, it's criminal that many car makers are not including them anymore.
This is so very true
@@RaitisRides On another note. I really love that blue colour, it's looks similar to the Marina Blue on the Chevy Trax
When was the last time you had a blowout? In 40 years of driving I’ve had one, on old bias-ply tires that were, ummm, past it. Every single other flat tire I’ve had in that time could have been dealt with with sealant and/or compressor. The vast majority of OEMs, if they provide a spare, provide a space saver, which gets put on, and in far too many cases, left on and driven well beyond its designed safe speed (I’ve actually seen cars being driven on two space savers). It’s one of those things that we think we have to have, but it’s a bit like carrying an umbrella in Texas in the summer.
It is a really cool refresh and much more modern look. It sounds like there is a more than average cabin noise. Great review, as always. Stay safe down there!
The ALL-NEW, Reimagined Nissan Kicks!
That’s a nice color of blue looks tasteful. Digging the 2 tone too. As much as I hate Nissan cvts this one is better. Let’s see if it holds up
Nice alternative to the altima
Comparing apples to oranges. Ones a sedan ones a sub compact suv…
@@mattmekhaeil It's a platform that wasn't selling as a sedan so they ponied up a half-baked SUV. Again, same platform, but this time fully baked. More like apples and apple pie, I'd say.
If you like small cars, check out the old Nissan Kicks. A fun little runabout type of car.
The old Kicks was horrible. It was underpowered and shaped like plastic egg.
@@jraheemjefcoat429 I disagree. It was a small and nimble hatchback. Good enough. Maybe like a Corolla
@@TomSmithII-g3l It was too small and cramped. Even Joe showed a lot of disdain for the last generation. It's a rental car nightmare.
Thanks Joe! I just bought an identical Kicks, but with AWD. It is number 87 made and used as a promotional vehicle for the Oceanside, CA Nissan Super Girl surf contest. It had 100 miles, got it for an even $30K. So many cool things for the money. The one you reviewed is FWD.
I like this new version if the Kicks. It reminds me of what Chevy did with the Trax. They ditched the small bubble design and made them more grown up looking.
Definitely, and the new Envista
That blue 720s look crazy 🤧🔥
This might be the best looking crossover on the market! With optional AWD even. Nissan is seriously on a roll, very impressed. I sat inside one of these and the fit and finish really impressed me.
Great review Joe. I like the new color, I work at a Nissan dealer and the new SRs with the optional wheels take it up a notch further
Yes of course Joe & I would love to buy this.
It would be suitable for someone's first car. I dig the overall style of this ride.
Gorgeous vehicle, don’t care if it’s slow
Mustang GT: 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds
Nissan Kicks: 0-60mph is possible
@@BoopSnoot lmao
@@BoopSnoot I guess that’s quick, I prefer “suv’s”
@@BoopSnootpeople who buy this don’t care about acceleration
"On throttle, here we go!!!"
Me 10 seconds later: "Did he punch it yet?"
😂 Cute car!
I got a 2022 Kicks for my college kid to get him into something much more modern than the (bulletproof) 2006 ES330 he was given when he finished HS. He liked the modern tech and the utility but hated how slow it was; after a couple weeks he asked for the old family Lexus back and he said he "missed that smooth 200hp V6". LOL. More power is what this needed the most; I still don't like the CVT, but I've heard if you change the fluid every 40K miles it will last 150K+. The old one wasn't ugly but was kind of basic looking, this looks a lot more "youthful". Nissan may be able to find success in the same place Mitsubishi has for years: simple, inexpensive, reliable, and good looking.
225Hp, the ES330 is extremely refined. There.
@nicholasbabeaux2052 you can just feel the quality when grabbing the wheel
Hey Joe, are you getting out of dodge due to the hurricane heading your way? Be safe!
Wow😱!! That actually looks really good! However the CVT is still a weak link. My wife recently rented a car, and give her a Nissan Rouge. The CVT was roaring at 24k miles. 👍🏾For another great review.
Thanks for the review! Like this one from Brand! You guys be safe with this storm coming! Looks like gonna be a bad one! 🙏🏾✌🏽❤️✊🏾💯
No electric assist on the rear hatch isn't a zonk to the majority of potential buyers. It's much cheaper to replace the regular shocks than it is to replace the motorized shocks
Are you sure about that?
@@RaitisRides 100% sure.👍 Only referring to the Kicks and the other vehicles within its class. A power lift gate is not typically found in this segment.
They could put loads of things on the car, and soon you’re looking at a price point that’s $5000 higher. It’s not a Bentley, it’s an entry-level crossover. Price matters.
Amazing review Joe & I am like this vehicle.
It would look better with a black headliner and it still have a cvt transmission
After 2013 Nissans CVT is fine. I've driven a few rentals and it makes their underpowered engines actually driveable. I like this redesign/refresh.
Absolutely not, I am a mechanic for Nissan and you need to do your homework.
@@ryanthompson2893hopefully your dealer principle or EM/GM will see this and you’ll soon be an EX-mechanic for Nissan.
Great review! I want a shirt that says “To the Door Panel!!”
Thanks Scott! We have them on the spread shirt sight. Just click the link in the description.
Twinkies shirt too
Stay safe Joe!!!
Been seeing a lot of TV commercials for this, and no question it's sharpe looking- but It's A Nissan !
They would move a lot more of these if it had a optional engine choice
Love your car video
I wouldn't buy a sub-compact SUV. I wouldn't buy a sub-compact SUV with plastic cladding. I wouldn't buy this because I've never owned something with 4 doors and haven't had a fixed roof car since 2001. But if I were in the market for a budget sub-compact SUV? This ain't bad. I hope this is a "way back" for Nissan. p.s. I got a beef and cheddar sandwich in my fridge right now. Thanks for reminding me, Joe!
please be safe my Italian Brother - tony stewart
Great review! This is the kind of vehicle that makes you question whether you NEED to spend more for something better (other than the glacially slow acceleration). I know I want and crave a Defender, a GX 550 or a Bronco. But….
Don't love the huge wheels, but that color really pops!
The color really fits it!
Yup, smaller wheels and more sidewall will equate to a slightly better ride, and less chances of wheel damage if you hit large potholes.
Looks like a winner, I plan on buying one in 2-3 years and hopefully by that time they will add a hybrid option.
Wow, Joe! ***** A+ To Nissan and their engineers for making this. I still plan to get an HR-V Sport, but this is a very tempting alternative consideration.
Yhe HR-V Sport configured with what I want in options and OEM accessories is $30K. With everything this has for the price at the fully loaded SR is incredible. I would get one just like this, but with yhe FED sbd possibly a different color
So much firvthe price here. Exterior sbd interior styling, texturing of trim, 19" wheels, 360° cameras, full digitial instrument panel, large infotainment screen, panoramic sunroof, even uf I eould go without any, upscal seats sbd interior appointments including the
Civic like trim on the doors abd center console. The Bose stereo, flat bottom steering wheel, everything is superb, even the light grey headliner. I believe my 1984 Buick Grand National and my 2000 Impala LS had light grey headliners that looked great. This matchs with the black rest of the interior below the window sills.
I like the rugged utilitrin look of the
HR-V Sport eith th Acura like taillights, but this is cutting.edge modern styling
👍 😎
God bless, abd stay dafe eith the coming storm! Prayers. 🙏 😇 🕊️
Nissan really kicks into the competition but the CVT is a zonk
I agree I have an Altima.I don't like the CVT in town but it's a champ in cruise control on the interstates. It takes the hills much better than a torque converter. I use it for long trips.
CVT beyond just a zonk, it is a deal breaker for me.
@@cbotten106 same goes with me, why can’t they just add a turbo and a DCT? Sales would sky rocket
stay safe joe and your family
Cute Kicks, So Adorable 🐥 Just needs Nap and Bottle
My Nissan dealer has already sold some of these, I was there getting my oil changed. This is a great job by Nissan. I will zonk not having a spare. I’d definitely buy one after market if possible. We know, you don’t like the light headliner in the Pathfinder either but I do! I hate all black interiors. 😂
That kicks is sharp i didn't like the previous gen but this gen of the kicks is making me eat my own words. Im definitely with you on the headliner. A black headliner would look good in there i dont like tan headliners i would zonk that. stay safe out there rati especially with hurricane milton on the way.
Joe and Lori and Steve keep up the good work real true and I love the video 👍
Love the car but the ‘Achilles heel’ is the Jatco CVT transmission!! Worst of the worst CVT’s.
This is so very true!
Nissan indeed got this new kicks right. But it just needs some more power to compete with at or near the cx30 territory but other than that they nailed it with the updated interior and the exterior
I don't like the design but for the price, is not that bad.
Agreed on light headliners, anytime I've driven a car with one it feels like the roof is right on top of my face it feels claustrophobic. 10+ years ago when I was looking at MINI options (when they were a la carte still) everyone said to get the black headliner and yeah it is so much better (my first cooper had the grey/light one).
Get out of town before Milton hits. We need more of your reviews
This looks like something from a classic anime. And I mean that as a compliment.
Excellent review!!!!!!!
Thanks for doing great car reviews. Still waiting for the review if a Equas Bass 770.
Nissan Crossover SUV Segment Class Subcompact is Kicks,Compact is Rogue,Mid-Size is Murano,Mid-Size 3rd Rows is Pathfinder & Full-Size is Armada
I got to see one here at our local Nissan dealer. Great looking car but I don’t do black interiors. Oh yeah, it was an SR.
Nice looking CUV, kind of looks like when Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, C3 and R2 were in the trash compactor and it’s a teeny bit smooshed front and rear 😂😂😂
Maybe is just me but the leather seats on the Kicks 2024 looked better, but now you have AWD, panoramic roof, 4 drive modes and better mechanics with rar multi link suspension, oh and Bose sound now has 10 speakers
This Nissan front grill is very stylish design
That may be called a Kicks, but I think its as much a replacement for the Rogue Sport as a redesign for the Kicks. It even has the same 2.0 liter engine and the same size class.
I wish they could put this new camera setup on the Frontier too 🧐
Where is your dealer located? I can only imagine how hard it would be picking out a new vehicle 😅
Theirs just that one word you can't hide from.jatco.
Doesn't it still just have the one shift? Given that it is hot there, how was the air conditioning in the new Kicks? By the way, the key fob is the same as the old Kicks (2023-2024, maybe 2022).
Stay safe from Milton!
Wondering how it compares to the Trax. I really prefer the interior and exterior looks of the Kicks.
When your showing the cargo space
You talk about cubic foot. If your gong to go that far. You should flip the back seats down. Do they lay flat? Or do they sit at a super angle?
The texture on the front air dam and rocker panels is meant to bring to mind the sole of an athletic shoe….what some people call their…Kicks. Get it? True story.
I do see that know! WOAH!
31 thousand manual seats and a slow car 😂😂 mazda cx 5 preferred same price with memory seats
Well, the Kicks needed to be better that is for sure. Better than a Honda HR-V? No, but better for those who have to have a Nissan. It surely looks a whole lot better than before.
Like the new design, especially having an AWD option, but I must admit, those particular wheels are hideous to me!
I hear the Nissan CVTs arent reliable? Is this still true with this model?
Nice cuv .
14:00 cracked me up, Joe’s been exposed to some not so well behaved kids in the recent past lol
nissan will never be bigger than honda
No, they won’t, in the early to mid 2000s they had so much hope with the new Ultima and the Maxima and the G 35/FX. That’s when I fell in love with Infiniti’s but they lost their way. Blame on Carlos
@@nicholasbabeaux2052 thats true honda is more reliable
@@WarnerHousehold So reliable my heater core went out after 8 years, right when my extended warranty was up (on a low mileage car).
@@Jan96106 yeah man tell me about thats why i love nissan
Bigger engine than the Rogue hmmmmm
Yeah but the Rogue has variable compression and a turbo to add extra HP, this doesn't
The 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine, is said to be the same motor that is being used in the Sentra.
Nissan Juke & Qashqai (Rogue Sport) in the current on the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 & European Market 🇪🇺
Nice Mitsubishi XForce you got there
Joe, did you mention the Murano ?
They have used the old Rogue Sport platform for the “new” Kicks.
