On the topic of the Self-Heal genes and Immunizers, according to Kiranico, all Monsties have a hidden stat called "Recovery" that determines the base effectiveness of regen skills and items. Monsties like Nergigante, Velkhana, and Gammoth have incredibly high Recovery at max level (Gammoth and Velkhana having 298, and Nergigante being the only Monstie breaking 300 with 324.) while Monsties like Glavenus and Anjanath have significantly lower Recovery (Both at a measly 118.) While I do not know the exact math behind it, I've made sure to consider it while building my Monsties, but here's hoping this reaches y'all!
i noticed that healing stat to, but never realy knew hat it was for. does it increase overall healing or just slefheal? potions seem to be always the same.
So Nergi is non-elemental... Has the best recovery stat in the game, currently... And can naturally self-immunize and deal AoE damage... Nergi best tank confirmed?
nergigante is very powerful overall, tanking included. after I got my nergi, she's carried me all the way through special elders lair floor 6 and she isn't slowing down, she's just an an absolute beast, even against the pve thunderlord and kirin
@@ryanstokes3567 If you have sparkly rainbow eggs, sometimes you get them from other monsties. I have now a whole team with fully upgraded genes that i got from normal eggs (no elder dragon eggs). Not only monoblos has these genes, found them bazelgeuse too and others i think have them too, cant recall the names tho.
I am working thru the story currently. I have a Nargacuga that I'm rather fond of. We fought some monster (forget who) and it got mad and switched to power attacks. Awesome I thought, my dudes a speed type. Every single head to head he did technical against this guy.... I was so ashamed.
If you have Kinship charge and are in the battle menu, head to the Monsties tab. There you can switch out your current Monstie or give it orders on what skills to use. Some skills are AoE, some heal, or some colored skills can be used in head to heads. If you do this and selected a speed skill for your Monstie, select a basic speed attack for yourself and initiate a double attack.

Know the video is old, but just an FYI to anyone who finds their way here. Only the power up XL genes are worth on this list. Everything else on this list is bad, at least for PvE. Self heal is fixed at 40HP per turn (not meaningful when your monstie eventually has 500HP). Dancer is a fixed 50 boost. Soul kinship is unneccesary, you often want the lower cost attacks since the light/medium/heavy add fixed values that don't matter much later on. Divine blessing is 20%, not the 50% he estimates. Amplify power is 1.8x for 2 turns, likely better to use pump up (1.7x for 5 turns, but 0.3x defense loss) or bellow L (1.3x for 5 turns, but effects all allies, good for buffing AI) In general (besides power up XL), better to have percentage based skills rather than fixed values. Stuff like critical eye (+16% crit change) and inflict rate up (+20% status chance).
My team to strike down the secret dungeon will be Nergitama the Nergigante Jho Jho the Deviljho Son Goku the Rajang King the Bloodbath Diablos Glacia the Velkhana And about number 6 do i still think This gene tips will be helpfull Edit: number 6 is decided Blaster the Teostra

I lose out on a Bingo or two but I don't have to swap my Monsties all the time. Also hearing all this stuff just makes me glad that I absolutely do not care about PvP. Not in Monster Hunter Stories, not in Dark Souls, not in any of the MMOs I played, not in any single game.
I really like the gene Overpower(XL) from kushala Its really expensive and situacional but when its time to shine comes its beautiful. Exemple: Rajang gets mad, turns gold and uses power up.(his rage lasts 3 turns) Me: You activated my trap card: Elder Dominance, that decreases target attack and defense.(also lasts 3 turns)
I always feel so torn on bingos verse these kinds of genes because so many of them are non-elemental, but then that ultimately reduces the output of the elemental monsties. I get the XL up gene helps with that, but does it effectively counteract the loss of element bingos?
geting more then 1 or 2 bingos really isnt that important as the percentage that it gives just really doesnt help. you can choose between getting a 5% bingo for power attacks or take the 30% damage buff lol
Dancer ,ivine blessing,non elemental attack up kinship up are good ground bassis for a really broken build on some of the strongest monsters in game pet 5 for pvp or non pvp if u take a monster with alot of open slots and add these on and use items to boost you're monstie attack at full health and use a kinship lv 3 attack u can almost 1 shot most enimes as long as u set up right espicly at max level

@@Jrpg_guy Not really a point changing elements at this point as you level up your Monsties they will swap back to their natural element and it removes certain visual effects from kinship attacks i think it's broken. You can do it if you want but it will be a colossal waste of genes and your time spent grinding them as once you get to a certain level it will revert back to normal and then have elemental genes that don't benefit it.

Then they even add the Palamutes as 6 different Elemental variants so I'm not sure if it's them saying we will never get it so have these colour variants or just a big fuck you that we don't have them. If you really want to change elements or colours you can just keep in mind they will basically become useless unless you re-gene them
Idk man i stay at 1 hp because winning head to head attacks leave you at 1. Makes it really good for low health builds if you're good at knowing your enemies attacks which isn't too hard.
I mean it is thrown off one hand so fair but Goku has done a golden spirit bomb and Rajang is literally designed based off of the Saiyans so I'm almost positive it's a spirit bomb reference
IDK man while amplify power on my rajang is cool it doesn't give me super saiyan rajang like high voltage does. and that's worth like 100 style points.
i love valiant flare it moderately increases fire atk and def for 5 turns and charges power for 2 turns i use it on my glavenus he does shit ton of dmg over 1k all the time + he hard to die thanks to def up and it only cost 19 use the skill so i start ever fight using the skill if you want this skill it comes from pink rathian only so good luck
i have self heal and Health XL on my nergantaie plus inflict aliment with Arachnophobia and omfg me and my BF had a fight with a Valkhan and the first half of the fight, thanks to Him it couldnt do anything becuse it kept geting paralized from the Arachnophobia, and i put that on him as a joke as, iam actually Arachanpobic XD never thought it would become a vital part of his kit.

I do wonder if they make another one and add a way to breed some monsters at least during like end game and the same monster so no Popo and Teostra mix. More to just get more jeans without having to run around places 60 levels lower than you just to attempt to get something you want. They could make it so if you want a self health XL and have two of the same monster that one is at least more likely to appear like 80% ans 20% be just an L or the other way with to L have a better chance to make an XL. Who knows but if Pokémon has places just to breed more Pokémon I'm sure Stories can at some point.

You should definitely be using some of these skills, even though they may ruin a bingo or two, on ANY element monstie. The bingo is largely irrelevant, it’s more of an extra. It definitely takes a backseat to just having good genes, offensive, and defensive as well. It’s like real life… try hard as you may to create the perfect bingo, maximizing your number of potential bingos… Then some a**hat with better genes than you swoops in, takes a dump on your head, steals the girl, beats you in getting the job… Then cuts in front of you in line at 711, where he buys a megamillions ticket. Funny enough that’s the sole reason you’re occupying that 711 on that fine morning, to buy your weekly megamillions. This trip was unusual in that- Ok, you prob already guessed it anyway.. dbag won the megamillions right in front of you, with the ticket that was SUPPOSED TO BE YOURS!!! And then you get 30 to life for murder in the first. Tough world out there, make sure you’ve got the correct genes lad.
I'm curious if it would be worth it to make a full power line on a Bloodbath Diablos, with one of those Power genes being Calamity Slash. Would be interesting.
Bloodbath diablos is like the devient tigrex but better in all statistics x). I like to play it tanky but with the Seregios attack, and some offensive like crit and the one who increase the power of abilities
ok i am about to give up. apparently might xl gene is not even a rare gene from monoblos, diablos tigrex etc but after 15 hours ( yes really) of farming high rank rare dens i havent gotten the damn gene even once.....sorry but what is going on

@@horacecampbell8483 you shouldnt worry about these stats, they are tiny flat buffs that dont improve as you level up so they will always make just a +2 or +3 difference. The only important thing is genes
One you have completed the story, yes. The only elder you can get before finishing the story is nergigante, but as soon as you complete the story you can start getting sr dens and sr tickets which will net you all the elders/deviants. There is no extra requirements other than completing the story.
If you haven't found out yet these monsters give Sync. XL: Royal Ludroth Purple Ludroth Kecha Wacha Barroth Cephadrome Mizutsune There is a Book of Genes in the Field Guides menu.
you mean post story? frankly the story is the one aspect of this game that holds it back. the game gets fun as fuck once the story ends and you can start taking on the hard shit

Hehe, so this is an interesting question. I'll answer without spoiling: When you get to a specific area in the story, *something* will happen and it will unlock fly. If you want to know more ask, but I had the exact same question like 2 days ago haha

@@nordicsturm6546 Pots do calculated healing for reliability, I think the healing stat improves heals received from all skills that heal.

I love how in MHS 2 your riders damage doesn't fall off toward the end of the game like in the first one. Your rider can legit do a shit ton of damage

pink rathian has a dedicated co-op quest that is easy to farm and getting it's eggs is super easy from what ive found

That's because AoE's tend to deal a lower damage to multiple targets than a single target does, this is an almost universal rule in attacks.

And then you get 30 to life for murder in the first.

I'm curious if it would be worth it to make a full power line on a Bloodbath Diablos, with one of those Power genes being Calamity Slash. Would be interesting.
Ive seen people running only non elemental power bingos on him you get 8 normal and 8 power bingos so +80% normal and +80% power atk
Bloodbath diablos is like the devient tigrex but better in all statistics x). I like to play it tanky but with the Seregios attack, and some offensive like crit and the one who increase the power of abilities
Can self heal XL be upgraded? And if so what does it do when upgraded? If base XL is 30 health?

Eggs dont change in HR, the only thing that changes is that you get access to new monsties

@@horacecampbell8483 you shouldnt worry about these stats, they are tiny flat buffs that dont improve as you level up so they will always make just a +2 or +3 difference. The only important thing is genes

One you have completed the story, yes. The only elder you can get before finishing the story is nergigante, but as soon as you complete the story you can start getting sr dens and sr tickets which will net you all the elders/deviants. There is no extra requirements other than completing the story.

Hehe, so this is an interesting question. I'll answer without spoiling: When you get to a specific area in the story, *something* will happen and it will unlock fly. If you want to know more ask, but I had the exact same question like 2 days ago haha

@@redswet2789 Aight. When you reach the desert area it should unlock Ratha’s flight ability when he changes forms. But uh that confuses me, if you’ve got an Astalos you’re in Terga? So you should be able to fly right now?
@@redswet2789 I’m in the endgame too, and I faced an Astalus about 3 hours ago, and I’ve flown on him since then… that’s strange if you can fly on Ratha but not on Astalos, because to get the Terga you need to fly on ratha to reach the final village
