It seems like you may not know this, but you can actually find Nergigante eggs in the overworld gold monster dens at terga mountain base. You don't have to use a rare ticket. I found a couple before even completing the story.
Can confirm it is a guarantee. The only chance involved is what egg you get. And Kirin being Kirin, that IMO is the one cursed egg because it seems to be everywhere in every den. Just pray that if you don't want a Kirin, you don't get it. Can be infuriating when you're there for the Deviant and Kirin eggs just keep coming out.
normal expedition tickets can be used for bottle cap farming and you'll have a small chance of getting an sr ticket so normal expeditions have their uses
Actually, if I use charms, prayer itself is disabled altogether. I tested this with the healing after each turn in combat prayer while having Finding charms active, and only after the charms timed out did I start healing per turn.
After beating the game the other day, I couldn't for the life of me figure out the progression, and didn't think I could handle anything in elders lair with my current gear, so I didn't want to touch it yet. But with everything in high rank being an absolute nightmare, this guide is extremely helpful
Just finished the game yesterday, so this came at a good time. I've been skimping on Everdens towards the end of the game, so I guess one of the first things to do is to get a Nargacuga and quickly finish those. Because, MAN, are those postgame bottlecap expenses huge.
The nice thing is that the chests in multiplayer dens never require special traversal abilities (Jump, Swim, Rock Breaker, etc) so you can just bring your best Monsties. Once you get all of the Bottle Caps in the Everdens and both Elder's Lairs, you never explicitly need them again.

I just got the game a few days ago and I'm enjoying the experience casually. It'll still be a while before I approach the endgame, but it was interesting to hear about what there is to look forward to.
This helped a lot. I've just been doing random crap with no semblance of order. Now I understand the loop a bit better and have a gameplay for tonight! Lol
Personal opinion and advice: You buy N tickets with zenny. Use those to farm bottle caps for everything else. And why N? Because you can speedrun N ticket dens. Just get a Nargacuga, Metal Gear(tm) your way through the entire den, find the chests, beat up the boss, done. Some people just go for the chests only, but I prefer bonking the boss. It's not absurdly hard to do it, just consumes a bit more time. Just pray you don't get roadblocked by certain monsters, i.e. Agnaktor, Plesioth and the random small monster that you accidentally walk into face-first.
"Self heal isn't even that hard to get..." Me, after ~100 expeditions, "...Right, not hard to get... thanks RNGesus." Side note, I do have two of my monsties with maxed out self heal, but my Nargacuga with dancer doesn't have one, and that 100 count is after I got my other two maxed out. so I'm 100 expeditions in and haven't seen a SINGLE self heal since. Edit: I got a self heal right after posting this, because RNG is sentient and has a sense of humor.
After they announced MHS1 being ported to the Switch I started playing this game again and Ive got sooo hooked. Loving the game and I cannot get enough of it. Only thing I dislike on the Switch is the performance, they clearly couldve done better.
I'd just like to personally suggest using a Nargacuga instead of a roaring monstie. I've been using a roaring monstie for pretty much the entire game while my buddy rushed to get himself a Green Nargacuga and then later a Silverwind. Being able to sneak behind a target for the free extra attack is huge. It is "possible" to roar a monster into holding still and run around it, but often I end up running in circles waiting for the effect to wear off, I can run through the monster multiple times during the effect as if they aren't there. Can be annoying to time. It's just simpler to go the stealth route.
First thing I did after beating the game was start the deviant hunts and aside from silverwind they all went pretty smoothly. I haven't even broke level 50 yet.
I've been having a pain finding some of the Deviants and Elders in the Multiplayer, and I thought you could only just find 'em in the Deviant Den, but this helped me out a lot! Thanks!
Just got the game, only level 25 so far. This was a very helpful video. Some of these things I can work on as I progress. I had no idea about the expeditions being so useful, I was just using them to level side monsties up to feed their genes to my main ones lol.

Finding charms don't effect what particular egg is dropped. It increases the chance of getting XL genes at. At this rank that is what you are looking for.
Another thing ab MONSTIE expeditions. I have made them go get resources for ancient potions and dust of life since you cant buy them and it is always useful to have over 50 of them. I also have too much zenny and charms so no need for those, you get them long the way
the grind is real but thats whats good about this game, makes me feel like when was young kid playing tb rpgs for first time. We didnt have any other option and thats what made it fun and sometimes have to take couple day break cuz grinded 200 hrs but felt your progression and could tell whereas now you just pay and no sense of accomplishment. Hats off to monster hunter for making ppl earn their lvls and not just letting there be another hierarchy in our games cuz get enough of that crap from real world.
What I do now (guess better later than never), before i Sell my trade in items, use the selling charm to get even more money for them, and then switch to buying charm if i'm planning on forging and upgrading loads of armour/weapons
Oof, I really feel quite overwhelmed by MHS2's endgame. That's a lot of stuff. So what exactly would be a good roadmap for what to do in the endgame. So you start at the elder lair and then?
Try and complete Elders lair. Loads of EXP for higher rank monsters, you can farm High Rank Monsters there for weapons/armor, and once you complete it, it unlocks the Super Elders lair and the basic Jaggi/Baggi fights give like 10k+ EXP which is super nice. But if you can, find parties that use SR Expeditions and farm the Elder/Deviant monsters to start building your end game team because the final monster in Elders lair is pretty toughy.
@@pyoheliobros5773 If it's HR Bulldrome then yeah you'll be fine for the first few floors. You'll eventually need to upgrade because you'll eventually have floors where you have to kill rooms full of Deviants/Elders. The main checkpoints will be Floors 5 and 7 since they're the toughest floors (IMO).
You can also find super rare dens in the wild they are a 1% chance to show up but if you have a flying monstie you can just fly around the locale look and then if it’s not there change the time and rinse repeat i did this for almost all my elder dragons it can take a while tho but i wanted to find them naturally

Prayers and Charms don't stack, choose a different prayer for maximum enjoyment, like finding+gathering, attack&deffense something like that Luck and training become the least useful in high levels
i love the game only thing i find to be a pain is when ur fighting the monsters u dont get to see the hp bar till after u kill it the first time around
So since co-op expeditions have multiple dens, is it possible to get multiple eggs in one go, or can you only get one egg for the whole expedition session?

Been trying but wow I don't have the patience for more than an hour of this game. Had the game for weeks and I'm only in the second area and I have 3 monsters 2 from the start and the fire chicken. I know I'll never get to the end boss but I'm shooting for maybe a quarter of the game. That may be pushing it a bit

I'd suggest roar monsters are better. you have to roar more often, but you can go through monsters as well

@@Sljm8D lately I've had Evade L and the Escape L equipped and it's saved my life multiple times in these hunts.

If I remember correctly, Retreat Dens have the same chance of having eggs with XL skills as High Rank Dens

We already got new genes from palamutes. A lot in fact. so its safe to assume the dlc monsties will have new genes.
Imagine if there was an event in this game that you let you go into a dream state and let you fight red when he was a young adult
