    I get why a lot of really amazingly talented people avoid posting on TH-cam. You attract all these clowns criticizing your work and trying to put you down. I challenge you critics to build a custom car from scratch and post it on youtube. Then let us judge your creation! It wont happen and thats a fact because it really takes nothing special to pick apart something someone else created. Chad you are one of the most talented and creative people out there. I love seeing what you come up with!

      Well said. Its very easy to come up with something ' in your brain' .its another thing to make it actually materialise. Even the pros are still learning something from chad because hes buildin and learning as he goes overcoming the obstacles and actually doing it.

    I love this video series on youtube better than the one on TV. You can see it happen fast on TV but you see the real deal and what it really takes to make this driveable artwork here on youtube. Thank you so much Chad and Jolene for sharing this with us. This series is one of the best positives to come from the COVID.

    Just came across this by accident. I lived in Ascot, England when I was a teenager and my family knew Richard Pope's gardener Mr Harris, formerly a sergeant major in the Royal Horse Guards, my dad's and Prince Harry's old regiment. Anyway, what I'm trying to say is I got to see his Bugatti in the garage, the same car now owned by Ralph Lauren. It was dark blue back then, not black. The shape and presence of the car was impressed indelibly on my mind. It was covered in a heavy tapestry curtain that still had its rail hooks along one edge. The garage was heated by a parafin heater, remember those? So there was also the unforgettable smell and warmth of paraffin, yet when Mr Harris lifted the curtain off the car, taking care not to scratch it with the hooks, I couldn't believe it was nearly 30 years old. It looked brand new. He opened the front left door and told me he thought this was the only right hand drive example made. The seat looked really flimsy with it's tube frame and folding it forward allowed a tiny gap to get in the back, you'd need to be pretty agile but I could see it was a ledge for luggage, not a seat. He reckoned the cut out for the door in the roof was so you could get the luggage out. The other thing that impressed me with the car was the size of the road wheels and steering wheel, really big. The front headlamps looked different to yours, which are more like the 57 SC Aerolith, which are lower and faired in like torpedo tubes. The Pope car had chrome pods almost on top of the curved fender. The rear spats on the wheels are also an Aerolith feature so what you have done with VW Beetle rear wings is interesting. I recall them being less wide and rounded on the original car but you have made a good effort adding the rivet fin. When you choose a colour give a thought to Jean Bugatti who designed it. He was fond of the dark blue bare metal colour of heated stainless steel, like you get when you sterilise a needle in a gas flame. Best wishes for good health while you get this done. Tim Clarke

      Very interesting story but all prewar Bugattis are RHD ... And pity Ralph "Rolling Stones" Lauren wants to turn black every car and destroys patina at the same time ... If only billionaires understood they own nothing but are just custodians !

    If someone has a problem with something another man built with his own hands, time, and money then they probably never built anything with their own hands, time, or money. You do with what you have and take pride in it and anything beyond that, is what it is. Good work Chad.

      @@jcerullo5015 Here's the deal my dude. He lives in a area that has a short window to build due to the weather. He can only operate in the warm months. Here also does everything in that shop area so sanding, body work, and the winter months cause the dust on everything. He uses a door hinge because that's what he has and makes with what he can. Hating on any of that is pretty shallow. Not everyone has money to build pristine cars with high dollar parts. He enjoys repurposing things, that's the art of it.

    • @cpclifton
      @cpclifton 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@jcerullo5015 You're a hater. Why do you care and hate on something not made for you. He's not trying to win concours or autorama awards. He builds shit he likes and people pay him for his art. He's building dream cars that regular people can afford. They pay for it I'd they like it. Im sure his creations weight a shit ton and are not meant for everyday driving. It would probably pass inspection since the cars are considered antiques since they are so old. It's more sturdy and more safe then a model -t. He isn't building cars to appease you. Pride comes from within, not from your opinions. He decides what gives him pride, not you. He gets to create with his hands worth his son and wife and people pay h8n for it. Im willing to bet, he would crush it if he had top of the line equipment, supplies, crew and all the money he needs. So you have to respect the fact he's creating things with his hands instead in the TH-cam content section hating on other people's shit not made for them. Stop watching his content if you don't like it and find something better to do then trolling in comment section on TH-cam lol. He didn't go to the network producers, they came to him just from watching his TH-cam videos. Keep drinking that hatorade fuggin.

      @@jcerullo5015 Pride is in thr eye of the beholder. A serial killer could find God and stop the urge to kill but to love as many people as they can. He can take pride in that. Weird analogy but that person decide where his purpose comes from. Kids today stare at their phones all day and his son is helping him create with his hands with a lost art. Instead of doing drugs and living on Instagram living for likes and followers. That's something Chad can be proud of. My equipment is always dirty because I use the shit out of them. Not because I don't have pride in my work. You can dislike his methods and see him as a slob or lazy, but that's just your opinion. I never even noticed the dust, but if you watch the show, he loves the dirt, the rust, the grim. That's what makes him happy ands takes him back to a time. Good chat, but nobody cares about the dust ir the door hinge that watch his show or pay for a build.

It is most excellent how you encourage people to (a) use their head to solve every problem, (b) use their time effectively and get after it (c) inspire through your work. It is rare to find your imagination, build skill, love for problem solving, appetite to take on seemingly overwhelming projects and personal drive in one person. In some sense this makes you a one man team!

    Elegant, sporty, luxurious and rare. These are four of many epithets that can be applied to Bugatti. But there is one model for which they are especially appropriate: the Type 57 SC Atlantic Coupé is not just one of the Bugatti legends but perhaps the greatest. Only four of these cars were created between 1936 and 1938. Three of these extraordinary coupés are still in existence. They are regarded as the most valuable cars in the world. The automotive world has been searching for the fourth Atlantic for over 80 years.

    First, thanks for making this video longer than the 30sec lol. This car put you on the map so it’s only right to finish it and the world can’t wait. The shape of this car is amazing and I think it’s cool to replicate the car and not do it exactly. I remember some comments saying this Bugatti is not as good as the one built by the guild, another show based in Canada. Well, the guild had many professional fab guys, took over a couple years on it and was building for a customer with very deep pockets where money is no object. You guys are comparing that to chad who is the only one building the body for this Bugatti using his method and using what he can get his hands on. Don’t know about you but you know your work is good when being compared to the likes of the guild that has money with customers that has deep pockets. I agree with chad when he says Art creates dialogues and opinion and that’s a good thing even when it’s bad. Take the good with the bad. Anyhow stay true to yourself and skills and keep improving. Love your show and art pieces and hope you become very successful doing this.

    Chad I love it! I love building models out of totally random type cars and making them crazy! I'm a lot like you a buy kits that are old and missing pieces and make it my own and the way I want unless someone asks me to build one! Lol like you lol I just don't get paid like you. But I'm my mom's caregiver so I'm perfectly happy 😊! I love everything you do keep thinking WAY OUT THE BOX!

    I myself and I am sure many others can't wait to see this car done. U do amazing work and outstanding customized work, I can't picture this car anything but the best and a neck braker. When u are done you will have a beautiful car and driver ( just so i am clear it doesn't matter if your lady is driving or you either one will make a beautiful car have a beautiful driver) your girlfriend, or wife whatever u want to call her when not using her name is just as lucky to have a guy like u as u are to have a girl like her. I hope you two the best. I have been married 20+ years and we got married at 19, most if not all said it won't last and look at us now, and I cant say I would rather spend it with anyone else. I can see you too comple each other just like my wife and I. Thanks for the update and allowing me to see all the amazing stuff you build. I have said it before one day I will a hot rod from you

    I'm glad you're making one of those they're gorgeous
    The original ones were made out of magnesium and that metal catches on fire that's why it had those rivets because they could not weld that car.
