When my wife gets annoyed while riding pinion, she just switched her headset off. I literally hear an 'ugh!' followed by the beep. LOL
people always ask the wife if she rides pillion and we both give an emphatic NO, she's no interest in it, and even if she had & as much as i love her, there's 2 places i'd never take her, ones on the bike, the others on the golf course, i just don't understand why any bloke would either lol.

Any test can be nerve racking but a pass makes it all worth it, well done Lavi. I did notice, you still have your maiden name on your new license but you are married. I understand you need to officially register your marriage now in the UK. Anyway, looking forward to your next adventures on your new Suzuki Van Van's. All the best to you both. Yes it was so nerve racking but all went well 😍 yes apparently it takes between 6-12 months to change my name and than get a passport because they have to sent everything to Germany and so on 😬

I'm an Australian motorbike instructor and I'm very intrigued by the UK system as well. It is a lot different to ours! But ours are a lot different from state to state here as well.

I remember getting my license 42 years ago, walked into the DMV took the written test and then to the back parking lot where the officer said do a few laps around the parking lot course. Yep you can ride and here's your license 😎
The excitement of getting your license is a dream, my wife picked up hers at 40 years old.

Congrats. Now, for us international viewers what does the licence allow her to ride? What restrictions are there, if any?
Here in Oz we have what are called LAMS ( Learner Approved Motorcycle Scheme) approved bikes which restrict new riders to certain bikes of restricted power output. Starts with the learners permit and finishes after 2 years, I think it is, of licensed riding.
Even if you’re on a full unrestricted car licence you still have to progress through the restricted program first. Puts a lot of new riders off, I think.
Congratulations again, stay safe out there. Treat everyone like an idiot, that's how you survive ;-)

As a retired bike instructor I know just how hard it can be to pass the bike test, we took loads of new riders through CBT to test standard and beyond, its a great feeling for us and the student, well done.

Levy: Try a Honda nc750x dct with automatic gearing, you'll love it, and it's so much more fun to ride, when the main purpose is just riding, not gearing and pushing the bike to it's limits. They also make africa twins in dct version (automatic). even goldwings

Do you have to go to a testing centre to do the theory test? We get our students to do it on their phone at our office after the practical course. They can then do the hazard perception test on their computer at home.
It is a cool job being a motorcycle instructor! I can verify this! HaHa!
So, can you do all your training in one hit, day after day? We have 2 days of the pre learner course, then after 90 days students can come back for their RE (Restricted engine) course which is one day. They never have to do any more than that but if they want to ride larger engine bikes, they have to wait 2 years and then come back for an unrestricted licence which is a half day course. We don't actually do a practical test, the students just have to show that they're competent before we move on to the next part. Because we are aware that the performance of a student can be worse in a test situation with the extra pressure. We watch students during the course and as long as they're doing what we ask of them, we pass them.
Your system seems confusing and complicated! But a lot more condensed!

A new shiny kit 😍 So happy with that, the old one was very smelly 🤣 Yes the theory test is done in a centre with a controlled environment. In the UK it's all test test test apart from the CBT ) for up to 125cc, Lavi found that very difficult because she is very nervous with tests. Crazy every country has their own completely different way of making sure people are competent it would be interesting to see who produced the safest riders 🤔

Fantastic, congrats Lavi - well done. Did a holiday on bike in Europe with wife pillion, when we came back she did her test and got her own bike. Congratulations 🎊 you would both benefit from looking into taking a professional riding course, one great channel for learning slow maneuvers is "Be the Boss of your Motorcycle" there's some great info on there you could both greatly benefit from ✌️honestly i don't think she's ready for anything but local practice and empty parking lots, it's only fun until you really get hurt out there.

yeah, the secret of the theory is the homework before. I failed my mod1 the first time in the wet too coz i was a cpl kph below the speed required on the hazard avoidance after aceing the 6 other excercises, and blitzed the road test, but i did take extra lessons to give myself the best chance. At 62 i didn't think there was much left to get me revved up, but the feeling of passing was fantastic and so exciting to know i got that monkey off my back & could go out and get any bike i wanted, so well done, enjoy it.
