Thank you for the review! The Warm and GoldenAge are hard to beat sonically and super quiet units for the price honestly. I really like the GA so I bought 1 more of them recently. As for the Summit it is a bit noisy if the tube is cranked hard but i did noticed you have to really dial in the impedance knob for it to sound crisp. (Tons of options) The tone of the Summit is incredible on guitars and vocals with a rich and fat harmonic tone. I recommend them all!

Thought we were kinfolk for a second, mate! Haha My last name has an extra "o," though (Scarborough). Anyhow, super helpful vid. Thanks!

How do you like this compared to your Art MPA II? I'm considering getting either that or the WA12

Nice, man! I noticed you have a Summit 2BA221 above the WA12, that's a fortunate coincidence, as I was doing some research for my next preamp and the three I came down with were the WA12, the Pre-73 and the 2BA221! I will definitely buy one out of these 3, so it would be great if you could give some brief thoughts on how they stand out to each other. I play and record some hard rock stuff, so I like the coloration and warmth I can get out of tubes, that's why I was leaning a bit towards the Summit. However, I noticed that despite being solid state, either the WA12 or the Pre-73 could deliver nice warm tones like a tube pre does. Which one of these 2 do you think come closer to the Summit in terms of warmth and color? Also, I've read some reviews complaining about the 2BA221 being noisy, is it really? And last, to record rock, which one would be your favorite out of these 3? I appreciate your help, rock on!

Great review! Quick question. I literally just got the Universal Raxxess to put in my GA Pre-73 & Summit. For the Summit did you attach to holes on bottom or top? For the GA did you attach to the holes on bottom or side? Would you happen to have a picture of how they’re installed onto your Universal Raxxess? Appreciate any help.

Hey Jordan, awesome review! I'm looking at getting either a WA12 w/ Golden Age Pre73 or Black Lion Audio Auteur w/ Golden Age Pre73. My question is since these are all 1/2 rack units how could I go about putting them in my rack? I see that you've got them both taking up a full space in your rack and they seem to be in there securely. Anyways thanks for the review!

Hey Evan! Thanks for the review brother. You can get the Raxxess universal rack tray on amazon and you can mount them in a rack yourself. The warm fit perfectly but the GA has different mounting holes but you can still
Make it work ( Golden Age products make it so you have to buy a Golden Age red rack tray ) which I eventually did once I got another Pre73. Thanks!
Here is the rack on amazon below:

I was gonna ask what you used to mount these half rack units... But you already covered that. Are you using the slotted rack covers as spacers to keep your gear cool? Thanks.

I am getting the warm audio wa12 mk2 soon, have been told it is a quite unit can you agree with that comment? I also was told going through analog preamp is better than audio interface preamp is that true? I do voice overs from home. My room is treated well just that annoying hum noise or I think it is hiss is what you call it for gain noise of a unit

how is the sound on this thing when cranked up to lets say 40 or 50db of gain is there any hum or noise? I have a rode procaster microphone requires that much gain problem I have is hum noise using my audio interface preamp.
