    The Capital One SavorOne is one of the most underrated cards. It's chocked full of good stuff and offers some travel benefits too as well as no foreign transaction fee. That's unbelievable. I'm amazed how little attention this card gets on the market.

    The nice thing about these cards is that, over the course of a year or two, it is easy to snag three or four sign up bonuses with your natural spending levels and acquire some cards that will always have a place in your wallet. Especially for us low spenders, getting $200 back after spending $500 is an enormous deal.

    Is credit utilization measured per credit card or your total of all credit lines? For example, if I have credit card A with a $10,000 limit and I have a balance of $ $5,000on it, and another credit card B with a $20,000 limit with $0 balance, would my credit utilization be 50% for card A & 0% for card B, or is utilization calculated as 17% utilization for the total of all available credit?
    Maybe both are utilized by credit bureaus?

      I would say try a flat cash back card. For example, the citi double cash(flat 2%) or custom cash card(5% on highest spending category up to 500$ then 1% on rest). If that doesn’t work I believe try getting a credit card with a rewards for Markets like Walmart, Costco, target and etc. I believe Costco has a rewards card, same with target.

    • @GarenP

      WM has their own card that offers 5% back from capital one, that would be an obvious choice. After the first year the points drops to 2% for in-store but 5% still for online purchases.

      Inquiries are very low scored on your report. You want to have a few cards so you can rack up alot of on time payments quicker, even if its a tiny amount rather than baby one

      I applied for and got accepted for 4 credit cards then denied my next two, that was at a 781 credit score. So I’d say 4 all at once is doable.

  • @kis4beauty

    I don't like capital one because they are so stingy with their increases. I'm definitely a low spender and I don't carry a balance each month thus no interest for them to make money from. Anyway, I've had the QS for several years only to have a $4k cl. I'm reluctant to get another card from them.

    • @Krashoan
      @Krashoan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From what I hear this is the case, best approach may be going to someone who is more willing to give higher limits or consider increases and then come back and apply for a different Capital One card when they can see your other card (or cards) has a much higher limit and they would be more likely to match it.

    • @alexthesniper1952
      @alexthesniper1952 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Krashoan I've not had this issue with Capital one they have given 11000 in credit spread about across three cards. I applied for the blue cash everyday and I was declined. But for Discover and Capitalone I've been denied only once!

    • @Krashoan
      @Krashoan ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@alexthesniper1952 That's good to hear. Capital One was actually my first card and they started me out with a 10000 limit, so I haven't had to deal with this. However, I don't think applying for extra cards to get more credit was what the OP meant, rather increasing limit on existing cards.

  • @justhuman1153

    Years ago I got a capital one card w/a $500 limit because I was beginning the “game” of building my credit, I didn’t need more than that at the time... I loved them at first (heck, their Viking commercials were funny lol) & I knew that no credit card is worth an annual fee & there was none w/that card, great!
    BUT, a few months later I was charged an annual fee... a phone call later w/a snarky (came off a bit arrogant to me) customer service rep went to “fix it” (I still had the literature stating no annual fee) & he said that “don’t be surprised is it happens again next year, just call us back & we will fix it”... uh, yeah... I was thinking screw that.
    I paid whatever tiny balance it was until everything balanced out, never used the card again & after a good 6 months or so I canceled the card. I won’t be doing business w/them again.
    I’d hope they’re doing better now but I won’t work w/them again.
    Btw, my credit score is awesome, I understand the game & still willing to learn more.
    Don’t get me started on Chase, they were worse years ago & again, I hope they’re doing better for their customers but I’ll never work w/them either.
