      Another Citi double cash alternative is the PayPal 2% off everything card. No yearly fee and seems to be easier to get approved for. I believe it also has some benefits the double cash does not but you would have to compare them to see what those are.

      His argument is that it can be combined with the Chase Sapphire Preferred, and that it does have a signup bonus, the CSP's 95 annual fee defeats the purpose of the video, but the real advantage is the signup bonus IMO, I personally am working on a no annual fee setup because my spending is not as high as other people to justify paying annual fees so again, I will get the Chase unlimited just for the sign up bonus and from time to time a dining expense since it gives 3% as well.

    BoA Customized Cash Rewards CC should be considered for this list too.
    It gives 3% back on a category of your choice that you can update monthly (up to 2,500 in spending per quarter). Going on a trip? Swap it to travel. Eat out and don't have a good dining out CC? Shift over to dining out.
    But if you're a BoA rewards member, you can bump up that cash back up to 5.25% cash back. That's an insane value to have in a CC, and for no fee CC's it really has a lot of flexibility and helps fill the 'void' as you build out your wallet with desired CC's, or shift from one program to another and need to fill some gaps.

    I'm considering getting the city custom cash and only buying groceries as that would give 5% off up to $500 worth of groceries a month and that's about what I spend. I had originally planned to get the yearly fee American Express that offers 6% cash back at groceries but with a $98 yearly fee so the Citi Custom cash would be a better deal overall I believe.

    • @slchance8839
      @slchance8839 ปีที่แล้ว

      hrmn....never thought of that. I used AMEX preferred for groceries but the savings difference is 1% per month, which is $5 times 12 months = $60 lost by Citi vs $98 yearly fee, so Citi is cheaper by $38! (98-60)
      However, I DO make use of the Amex OTHER time-limited cashbacks....usually $10-$12 per special offer (ex: $5 cashback when you spend $10 at my local XYZ market or when you curbside deliviery at ABC grocery story, etc... I'd say, I save an extra $30-50 using AMEX....but that's because I take the extra time. If I got lazy, I'd lose money to Citi.
      I have both cards, I may switch my usage, thanks to you!
