Excellent wipe out and recovery. Every EUC rider crashes but many video creators never show them. Your laughter after the fall was quite funny. Keep up the great vids!

Many thanks Bob, it would have been a bit of another story if that was on tarmac or gravel. But those wrist guards did the trick. Thanks for the comment.

I also wear this helmet when not on the street. Love it. Small correction - the peak cannot be removed as you stated @ ~ 9:00

You are correct, it can only adjust one click up. Thanks for watching and the comment. I might look into something a little bit more motorbike like. Those TSG - PASS PRO helmets do look nice but not a big fan of the shine on the visor. But I am keeping an eye out.

The first thing I do with my KingSong wheels is set the auto turnoff time to the maximum (hours I think)

haha so true. I will do that and thanks for the tip. Breaks my heart when it falls if there is no reason for it.

I just got a Bell Super3R recently. Just plain loving it. MUCH better than the 5-lb motorcycle helmet I bought before I knew better about recommended head gear. And the bluetooth module I already had fit extremely well - not too tight, I can still hear traffic pretty well. I was torn between the Super3R and the POC, though.
One thing that doesn't get mentioned enough for folks in between sizes. The medium goes to 59 inches max, the large starts at 58. For folks like me, right in between at 58.5 inches, it's best to size up to the large. I can cinch the MIPS dial all the way down, but it still feels snug and secure when I do.
I don't think I'll ever remove the chin bar, though. I don't like that I can't remove the visor, I'd like to remove it to use it as an inline downhill helmet too (although the Triple8 or TSG helmets are probably better suited for that than Bell's BMX helmets).
It only took one bug flying directly in my eye at 20mph for me to decide to get a pair of BMX/Dirt bike goggles to fit over the Bell.
Falling sucks, I've been rollerblading for the last 4 years, too, so I've been doing a lot of falling for a 30-something dude anyway. I pad up so I can ball out. Same attitude with EUC riding. On blades, helmet, knee pads, wrist guards - always, and butt pads when I'm at the skate park. On the EUC, helmet, wristguards, shin/knee guards, heavy boots, and a motorcycle jacket with integrated shoulder and elbow padding (I removed the backplate though), and maybe the butt pads depending on how I'm feeling.
    Roll safe!

I did not see thee model you have but just did some checking and its also an awesome option. I did not even look at the BELL helmets and then I spotted the convertible ones and the BELL came out tops in the reviews and I liked the look of it. But as you say I very rarely take the chin off but its good to have that option as I might get an e-MTB some or other time and then just want to go cruising with the trail style look.
Same here on the blades, I got back into that 2 years ago and bought a pair of AEON80's to have the option for some grinds and slides and now I am looking at a pair of tri skates or 100's for some freestyle. But we will see.
I also kit up as I want my daughter to also do the same. I even wear a helmet iceskating. Thanks for watching and the comments its much appreciated.

ROFL! They're cm, not inches... imagine having a circonference of 58 inches, that would be the Hulk's head, barely.

    Hey Andre,
Thanks for this useful and very real review- cool that the camera kept rolling when you fell- you mentioned how your trousers had internal knee pads, what brand are you wearing?
Sorting out what to wear from head to toe is quite a tricky business trying to cover the right bases be it seasons, wet, to warm, enough protection, comfort etc.

Many thanks for the feedback. Looks at RevIT, AlpineStars, RST or any other textile trousters that has built in knee and hip protection. Most of them now have this option and its so nice for winter and summer. It also comes with a liner that keeps you warm in the winter. I use my old RevIT's for the motorbike and EUC and they works a treat. Motorbike gear work well and it lasts a long time. I have some Leatt dual axis knee and chin protection that I use over a pair of jeans or when riding in shorts. Most guys now ride with MTB downhill helmets, they have good solid protection and they are light. Check out for MIPS in the helmets, its an extra protection part. Then you can look at some MX goggles, just a cheap pair for summer riding to keep the bugs out your eyes and in the winter to keep your eyeballs from freezing lol. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions. Keep well.

Honestly thanks so much for your detailed reply. I know, you know this, but just to confirm it, your videos are just amazingly helpful!! 🙌The one about finding the different shock settings was a total game changer today- I re-did my shocks last night and was actually able to go on and off tarmac onto grass and back on without the wheel acting like a sack of spuds and being too squidgy!!! I’d done what everyone else does and gone with the factory recommendations then TH-camd a bit and then gone for a happy medium.
Your info in the vid was spot on and best of all for lighter riders. My wheel is so much more responsive and now I’m feeling like I’ll be riding trails a lot lot sooner than I thought I’d be!! Yipppeeee!!! 🤞🥰🙏🌟
Although today’s been really warm, I went out for a practice session on my wheel and got to say, it was freezing- it’s a slightly exposed spot but with the wind from moving too, it makes me really think about my gear. It’s not fun if you’re too cold!!!
Got some basics sorted already and I was trying out my Demon jacket with armour this afternoon and it’s just brilliant. At the moment I don’t know whether go with the knee and shin protectors you suggested, looking towards warmer weather or the trousers option. I was trying to buy things on a budget or buy stuff steadily, but this is the kind of gear which lasts as you said, and it’s a safety investment most importantly. Plus as a beginner you can’t take the risks to improve without the right kit on or so it feels.
The other dilemma at the minute is about shoes/boots. I’m trying to get used to wearing my work boots which have great protection and support though I think the heel maybe sits a bit high so it effects the pressure under the toes- feel like I’m on my toes too much. Also at the minute keep getting clipped by the EUC body or platforms when I come off, shins, inside leg below the knee, back of leg etc!
How do you think motocross boots would work to ride in? They look low profile, surely there some sensitivity in the sole because of the degree of balance and control riders need?… and there’s tonnes of protection around the whole leg….looked at motorbike touring boots too just because there’s a bit more height. If you’ve advice on this subject too since you’re a motorcyclist it would be great.
Thanks again, and in the meantime, hope you’re making the most of these British blue skies and having some fun.

On the shoe side its trail and error. In the winter I ride with snow boots and its takes a good few rides to get use to them. I want something light with grip for the mud and support for my ankle. In the summer months I ride with a pair of Vans, they are flat soles and the sole is grippy. They dont have much support on the ankles. You get some nice freeride shoes but they are expensive. I personally would stay away from a full motorcycle touring boot as they are just too bulky and stiff. Good for protection but takes away from the ride.
Here are some examples of bike boots that does not look like a massive bike boot.

Some Vans options, they are hardy and mine has been lating long.

Trousers that I use on the bike and on the EUC. Warm and have good protection.

Best to get over to a big motorbike outlet store and just trying some on to see what fits the best. Most of them has a liner that can be taken out in the summer.
Hope this helps and good luck with getting the right gear together.

That sounds like a plan for that ride. I must say I am also keen to get some dry trail action some or other time. Its just been so muddy and the forest take a long time to dry out. But hope to get out this weekend. Thank you for watching and the comment.

Nice one, I think we will have to make a plan when the lockdown is way less. Trying to stay local as much as possible. I was out today and some of the pubs are getting ready for outside food serving. I think they must be so ready to open.

@@Andre-Mostert I like and and deciding between this and Fox Proframe - Bell wins with adjustable system, however, is chinguard sturdy enough? I have Cratoni C-mania and chinguard is very flexible - it will not help at all

    • @Andre-Mostert
      @Andre-Mostert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@miros1524 I must say its not going to be as sturdy as a helmet that is one unit but there are very little flex in it. I thought I am going to use the remove and fix of the chin allot but I dont really. I think if you riding MTB's then its nice to have but if you not going to use it that much then I will go for a fixed one. I have not taken mine apart for a few months now.

Perfect, good choice. I must say now that I used the helmet for a long time I would have gone for a fixed one too just because I dont remove the chin that much. That is a beast of a e-scooter. Been checking them out.
