What style window would your prefer having and why? Originally, I wanted a window that vented, but I didn't like that it would obstruct my view, so I changed my plans and did a solid window for a sleek look.
Thank you for watching and commenting! I am glad to hear you are enjoying my build series. I appreciate you joining my journey. Best of luck with your build🥰
Thank you for explaining the steps and products in detail ... This is so helpful, and very few build videos show the exact supplies and steps required for each step of your project !!! Bravo !!!
here's another trick. Get some handled suction cups that pump up like glazers use to move windows (Harbor Freight has them) and attach them to inside of the window. Them use a ratchet strap from the handle to the opposite inside wall of the van so it puts a little pull on the window
Yes! I did consider doing this but couldn’t find suction cups in my area. Thankfully the window was super light and easy to install so in the end I’m glad I saved some money but definitely an option😊
Hi I've watched a lot of similar posts and have got a lot of info for my upcoming first build. I must say you add a bit more information than the majority of the previous videos. thank you for that,
Another great video Lauren. Did you do any further paneling of the inside of the door or trim around the windows? Did you just leave the Trim-Lok showing? I couldn't find any footage of the final look you went with.
Nice one Lauren😀 Always look forward to your informative van building video and I'm looking forward to you getting out on the road with it when she's done, do keep them coming😍
Way helpful, include the metal shavings tip. I have little rust spots up on the roof from my install. It's only on the top layer of the paint and can be removed with " star Brite" rust stain remover.
Super clear and helpful Lauren! I love the tips! Do you know the largest window dimensions for ordering window for the back doors, back sides, sliding door and side across from this so they fit properly within the Ram ProMaster's placing for windows? I don't have my van yet and I want to order windows. For me the windows are important for feeling great in vanlife even though it takes away from insulation!
Thank you for the kind words! I am glad you found it helpful. When ordering door windows online, you will be asked to select your make and model of van as well as the wheelbase. This will give you the correct window size for your install. Good luck on your build!
Hi, thanks for the video and the tips. Does this window have any curve to it to form with the door. My 2023 slider has a good size curve to it, wondering if this would be a good fit?
Yes, the window I purchased has a slight curve to match up with the curve of the van, intentionally done by the manufacture for my make/model and year.
Great question! Honestly, I was looking into a window like that originally but after looking at pictures of others who installed that specific window, I didn’t like that the view out the window was obstructed. Might sound silly but it’s totally up to personal preference and that was just something that bothered me☺️
As I shared in the video, it was an aesthetics choice. I didn’t want my view to be obstructed like it would be with other style windows that have vents or open. This is simply a personal choice.

I am really enjoying your series. I have the same van and am going through these same procedures! I appreciate you.

Love you showing all the tools for the job before you start. When I'm building something I'm back and forth to the tool shed 100 times.
Hahaha I hear ya! Glad it helps☺️

100% all on my own: the research, planning, buying, doing… EVERYTHING😄
Thanks for being so informative!! That made me subscribe 🙂 Will enjoy following your build.

Thanks. Yes, I have been overly paranoid about rust and leaks. Crazy how the tiniest piece will cause rust.

@@LaurenLawliss Thank you for always explaining everything in a way I understand it. You are a great teacher!!
@@laurelanderson-rostami109 Thank you❤️❤️❤️
Hi great job does it take 2 tubes of adhesive or can it be done with one?
Hey RJ! I didn’t even use a full tube of sikaflex so only get one😁

@@LaurenLawliss Thank you for your time with this!
Of course ☺️
Well done video. Thx for doing it in 8 minutes, not 15.
Hahah thank you. I’m trying my best to keep them short but detailed. Sometimes I can go overboard so I’m glad you felt this was a good length😅
add circle mirrors its a suggestion
Good call out! Thanks :)
I'm curious any reason why you chose this window versus one that has a small slide that you can open on the bottom?
Great question! Honestly, I was looking into a window like that originally but after looking at pictures of others who installed that specific window, I didn’t like that the view out the window was obstructed. Might sound silly but it’s totally up to personal preference and that was just something that bothered me☺️
@@LaurenLawliss that's fair lol, I was just curious because I've seen others build out their vans and some used that type of window lol
Van Windows Direct only puts the trim on the inner metal not both
Sorry, I don’t understand your comment. Everything I used to install this window was provided by Van Windows Direct.
where did you buy the windows, thank you!
I purchased this window from Van Windows Direct
WERE DID YOU LEARN TO DO THAT
Hahaha, the internet is full of valuable resources. I’m grateful for other videos, articles and forums that have helped me along the way!
Why the solid window?
As I shared in the video, it was an aesthetics choice. I didn’t want my view to be obstructed like it would be with other style windows that have vents or open. This is simply a personal choice.
