Lauren, my son is off to college and his dorm room will be a Ram ProMaster 3500 that we are converting. There aren't dorms where he is going and housing is not only really hard to find but crazy expensive. Van life at this stage of his journey is a dream and passion and I wanted to share that finding your channel and really well done videos with step-by-step allowed us to feel confident that we could convert ourselves. Ill be honest, this scared me a bit. I normally like maths but this is all a bit much for me. We have just bought an empty nissan nv350 caravan (low roof van). I think we aren't looking to end up with something as advanced as your build. It will only be for a few days away. I'd love to find a guide to a simpler set up. In saying that, there's lots of good info here. We might just go the 12volt avenue to charge a fridge and lights.

How do I identify a "high quality fuse"? I can find a lot of different brands, prices are not that widespread and I have no clue what a decent brand would be for fuses... Buying the most expensive one doesn't really say anything about quality, and all fuses have all their certificates needed mentioned on their product listing... I'm with you about the importance of decent quality fuses, they are one of the most importend safety features. And even a very small electric water cattle will use about 150a at 12v, so the amperage is very high and without safety system it could lead to fire quickly...

HelloOOOooo...Hey. Hey... i have done a buildout (sprinter cargo van) 5 yrs ago. I'm always have interest with DIY builds. That's how i learned the "+" & "-" for my build… KUDOS to you…very few if any use the "plus nuts". Other terms are used as well…couple things Available is the way cheaper tool for the install. You'll need 2 wrenches but i bet i could do it almost as fast as you. Also you can feel the resistance …i hope you have used locktight (blue) with the screws …i used countersunk screws for my build …with the wood strips for sure cabinets & etc secure, but also most importantly…a thermal break… great that you followed the van contour…just plain looks better …i used the aluminum 80/20 extrusions for structural and cabinets etc…many many reasons for this product…for me absolutely the only way to do any van conversion…and a chopsaw is pretty much all you need …again…good for you with the plus-nuts…my opinion…way way better than rivnuts (rivet-nuts)

Incredible subfloor fit! Probably the best I've seen.

Just an FYI, that grey lever on the negative (black) terminal of the battery actually loosens the terminal's grip on the post and you could have just wiggled it off instead of taking off the nut/bolt. Nothing wrong doing it your way, just a little time saver is all. The swivel is definitely a solid option for van conversions. I'm starting a box truck next spring (nowhere to put it inside during the Central NY winter.......) so it's not really an option for me, but great tutorial!!

I don't know if it matters at all to you, Lauren, but you are extremely likeable. But then I'm attracted to people who are smart, thinkers and doers and meta types. But they have to be Real and teachable. It doesn't hurt that you aren't terrible to look at with an obvious but protected kindness. Since you are showing us your direct experience, that makes your videos credible and highly watchable. I like how you state your goals and introduce materials before you begin a phase of each project. Too many seem to be shooting from the hip and not planning at all. I mean, any project is really going to turn out to be a controlled crash situation, but like they told us "proper planning prevents piss-poor performance". Yours are pro-level videos with high production values. With a little funding, you could do a TV series about this kind of evolution.

Outstanding presentation. Wool also absorbs some moisture and I don't want anything that holds moisture behind my walls; it is waaaay over hyped (marketed) IMHO. But now you have me considering skipping sound deadening ... I think that the biggest benefit of sound deadening panels would be while driving which is a priority, but considering weight and cost I am now questioning it's use.
