Great video and image, Trevor! Your OSC Hubble Palette work is terrific. I've downloaded the PixelMath processes for that but haven't had nearly as much success. I'd really be interested in seeing how you do it. Clear skies!

Holy smokes man! I think that might be one of your best images yet! Really fun video and I learn something new every time from your videos as it's not just a 'show and tell' video but educational and inspiring too. Your setup is really dialed in nicely. Newtonians really have some of the most accurate optics and the ASIAir just makes everything so easy. You're also making a good example of the benefits of an OSC in areas where you might not have but just a few clear skies each month so when you are using dual or triband filters, it really starts to make a lot more sense in respect to getting a usuable image quickly.

Excellent imaging. I, for one, would be very interested in your Pixinsight Hubbel palate process.

Nice! I’ve been after this one, but haven’t gotten it yet. Am hoping to in the next week or so. Time is limited. I just got into the hobby about three months ago, and there’s no turning back!
Enjoyed the video - great photo!

Great song choice for the image reveal! My favorite from Gustav Holst "The Planets" is the Venus theme, and Saturn is a close second. You did an amazing job photographing M16! It's also one of my targets for August for the first time, so I hope the weather cooperates on my end. Keep up the great work!

Hi Trevor, You did a fantastic job, especially getting that Cave effect on the Pillars, and the ASI2600MC did a great job as well. My name is Rich Williams and I live in Central Florida. I have been crazy about Space and Astronomy ever since I was a kid when I got a little Department store 3" Newt. for Christmas one year. It was not a very good telescope, it really was just a toy, but I was able to see the Moon and since then I was hooked. But life soon got in the way and my interests in Astronomy went by the wayside...until I retired!
I've been a visual observer for quite a while now, but I still felt like I was missing something. So, I dipped my toe, no...all my toes, actually both legs, up to my neck, into Astrophotography and I am loving it, except for my Summertime weather here in Florida. Anyway, my very first image was M101 with SN2023 Supernova and it came out great! I was so happy that I actually did it. I actually did what I've been watching and learning on TH-cam for the last several months. So, from then on there was no looking back!
Anyway, I have an awesome ASI2600MC, as well, that I use for DSO's and I like to mount that up with my 14" Meade LX850 f/8 SCT, which is an awesome telescope. I also use it on my MaxVision ED127 mm x 950 mm f/7 Apo with FCD100 glass. I like to use my 2" SVBony Duo ( H-alpha/O(III) ) filter with my camera on some of my targets, like NGC 6992 - 6995 the Eastern Veil Nebula which is part of the Cygnus Loop, I'm sure you already know that though, the Bubble Nebula and even M101 The Pinwheel Galaxy, where I got some beautiful images with the Duo band. I was a little worried about the "SVBony" filter not being up to spec, because it was about half the cost of the big name brand filter manufacturers, but I must say, it is right on or at least very close to spec. I get beautiful Blues and Reds with it. I'm even considering getting a Tri band filter for my OSC, when I can afford one, so I can get the S (II) Band/Channel in there as well.
This time of year it's really tough to get some clear skies down here in Astor, Florida, because it's the rainy season. The East coast and the West coast sea breezes like to meet up right over top of us here and then we get it hard! We get rain every day for an hour or two, sometimes longer, but the clouds like to linger on, most times, all night long! Anyway, I'm just beginning my Astrophotography journey for about the last 6 months or so now and I can't get enough of it! Much, if not most, of the time has been devoted to learning the "Craft" and it certainly is a craft and has a large learning curve, but I love it. Ever since the first time I saw Hubble's images of the Pillars of Creation I have wanted to see them on my own and now I'll be able to do that, if and when I get some clear skies again.
So, I apologize for the novel. I didn't mean to go on so long but I just get so enthused everytime I talk about Astronomy and Astrophotography that I have a hard time keeping it short. I feel sorry for my friends! 😂 😂
Nice job, once again, on the Pillars of Creation Trevor. I hope mine turns out half as good as yours did.
    Sincerely, Rich Williams
    Astor, Florida 32102 USA!

Nice to meet you Rich, thank you for sharing! I think that’s absolutely awesome that you’ve dove straight into with some amazing gear too! Keep on chugging and you’ll capture endlessly amazing sights!, I live just outside of mammoth cave national park near Bowling Green KY, since I was really little iv always loved space and astronomy too, about almost 4 years ago I saw the Orion Nebula for the first time thru binoculars and I was hooked ever since. It would be a pleasure to keep in touch, you can follow me on instagram at @jts_pilot
Thanks again for your comment, I wish you well in your journey thru the cosmos! Clear skies
      Trevor

Beautiful shot man. SUPER impressive... A long time ago, I always assumed "The Pillars of Creation" was something massive, that would've taken up a large portion of the sky, from all the photos I've seen from the James Webb Telescope, but oddly enough, it's such a small point of light in the sky, just a spec of light, yet deep in space, at it's location it is a SUPER massive cosmic structure. Absolutely stunning.

Great image, I really like seeing the whole process including getting everything going at the beginning. Would like to see the real color image too, and how many exposures did you do, I’m guessing 3-4 hours total?

Trevor, just came across your channel. I really enjoyed your walking us through your process with the ASIAIR. Can’t wait to see more of your videos!!! Two questions: what is your Bortle number? And when you set up your guiding, you first did a recalibration. I’ve always been confused with this…should a recalibration be done every time?

Thank you!! I’m in a bortle 4, and yes anytime you change field of view, always recalibrate

Curious how Pillars of Creation is also the name given to the fingers of Buddha's hand.

Consider wearing a wireless mic. Your audio wavers as you move around the scope and results in sub standard listening for us watching. Good video otherwise.
