I have been looking at your videos about the RC6. I just bought an Apertura CarbonStar RC6 and working t get it setup for galaxy season. Glad to see some great images coming from this scope design. Mine came in very well collimated and only need a quick secondary alignment. I currently have the rest of the items I need to adapt it. I will be running it on an iOptron CEM26 with a ASI2600MC Pro and ASIAir+. I shoot from a Bortle 2 area in the Colorado mountains.
Which Newtonian are you using? Great image!
where do you get the primary mirror cover for the stray light? 5:59
Nicely done. And yes, for only 90 minutes worth of data, very well done.
Stunning Trevor and the Vangelis music entirely suitable.
Beauty. I captured a couple of hours on this just a few weeks back with my SVBony 70ED. I was quite pleased with the result but this beats it by far, as one would expect.
I hear you re the difference in quality re GSO v Skywatcher and tend to agree but, while having bought two Meade SCTs, a Skywatcher 120 Star Travel achro and an SVBony 70ED (all used except the SVBony), I have now just bought a Skywatcher 200P used (with a manual EQ5 mount) for £120. To me (retired early with limited resources), I couldn’t resist the bargain. No coma corrector however and I doubt I’ll be buying a TS optics one. I enjoy your presentation style however so, subbed. 👍😁
WOW! What was your exposure length? Thanks for sharing.
@@KJRitch 4 min subs!
Absolutely stunning work this my friend! Loved the music too, great build up to the reveal! Clear skies from Liverpool, England! Wes.
Awesome picture. How long subs?
@@robertosaragoni2218 thank you! 4 min subs
Incredible image!
Melotte 15 looking stunning dude 👍🏼
Sublime!
Wow - impressive!
Excellent image Trevor
Beautiful work.
Excellent result for such low integration time! This is a target I've yet to image this season...stoopid clouds!!!
Hi there, Could you please tell me what mount and tripod you used for this telescope? I couldn't catch that. HEQ5 and then you said something
@@wild_bound I have the the HEQ5 mounted on a concrete pier I constructed for the observatory. But it can totally work on any 2 inch leg tripod.
Thanks a ton for your reply.
Great image and loving your choices of annologue electronic music. Reminds me of the 70's growing up as I'm an oldie 😂
Hey Trevor. Very nice shot of M78. That's a tough get. Did you use any kind of filter? A UV/IR cut at least? Thanks.
Thank you! I shot this completely unfiltered, Bortel 4.5 skies
What does your processing look like? Your images are amazing. What do you use to stack and process with?
Thank you! I typically stack with Deep Sky stacker but want to start stacking with Pixinsight. For processing I use Pixinsight and do final touches in Adobe Photoshop!. I'll do an updated processing tutorial soon!
Thats your best image yet Trevor and now my next target. Thanks for sharing
Cool!!!!
Tobey Maguire is that you? Amazing video man! Very calming and informative!
Hi Trevor from Northern Ireland. With that telescope combined with your talent you have developed an incredibly beautiful image of a snippet of God's paint pallet. Excellent work 🙂
As someone who can only image away from home, there are a few pro's to not having the ability to image from a back garden. I am always in bortle 4 or lower, I choose my location based on clear sky's, clear view of the target and wind direction is it is slightly breezy. what i cannot do is grab a hours worth of data when the clouds clear, as I will only travel to a site if I can get 4 hours of clear sky
Beautiful image Trevor! What filter was used?
@@davidcotten3727 thank you, no filter at all, completely all natural light
Outstanding. Beautiful work.
Very crisp. It's like being there.
Excellent video, great shot.
Beautiful Moon images and a great tutorial thanks Astro Pilot!
I have the same telescope but branded as TS-Optics. GSO that manufacture these telescopes do make the best mirror optics. People that buy Sky-watchers, Orion and Celerstron newtonians or dobsonians should really know this.
Very sweet. Good tune for the reveal as well "Tears In The Rain" if I'm not mistaken? 🙏
Yes! Thank you!
Incredible images. I was just looking on the FLO sight at their 10" version of this scope and it's a steal for the price. I live in Northern Ireland so quite local to this retailer. Is there a motorised tracker mount available for this and the 10" version?
@@steverees1936 Nice!! Yeah the 10 inch would be wonderful I’d say. For the mount probably at least anEQ6 at the minimum.
@@AstroPilotchannel I did landscape photography for a while and have a Canon 1100d DSLR Rebel t5or t6 in the States), so would I be able to use it and attach it to this scope?
@@steverees1936 Yeah should work no problem, just be sure you have the right T adapter that will work with your coma corrector. I HIGHLY recommend the TS Optics GPU Coma Corrector, that's what I use with my rig, its 4 element APO.
That's an excellent image Mr T. Glad you are back on YT!
Great presentation... very enjoyable
Very very nice 😊
Unbelievable detail with that 8” Newt🔭👍👍🇺🇸
is the channel management part doable for every astro photo or it is a specific thing? Just curious. I am new to this? Thanks.
That was very smart and creative. Thank you for that!
Great job. I just built mine very similar too using your method. We have no frost line here in Florida, but using a spade, I dug down about 15 inches square. The spade kept the soil on the sides undisturbed so it would act like a strong form. I made a form above ground three inches high, added tied rebar and filled the whole thing with concrete. The rebar extended 30 inches up from the ground. I let that set for a week then placed the 10 inch Sonotube on top of that. For the steel plate, I used 12 inch long carriage bolts. That should hole my AM5 really good!
Thanks for the wonderful in-depth tutorial. As with other posters here , you've inspired me to make this purchase even though I live in Las Vegas. Can you tell me where you found the toboggan to cover the end of the reflector to avoid light leaks at the mirror end . I am currently imaging with a ZWO 80 mm refractor . Some of the videos I've seen on collimation put me off a little. But I saw one using a concentric collimation eye piece that seems to avoid some of the issues or cost of the other tools. I even deeply researched using it with a ZWO 2600 duo camera and apparently if used with a German GPU, coma corrector it is possible for the light to illuminate both the main and the guide sensor And hopefully since it's only 20 pounds and 3 feet long my AM3 mount will be able to handle it. Thanks again for such a nice job.
Passed the test...
Wow! Outstanding!
is it skywatcher 200/800?? i got 150p quattro but my astrophotos are light years away from yours in quality and detail :P . im in a bortle 7-8 sky . eq5 mount ( i would like get am3 ) asi air plus , asi 533mc pro , 60/240 guidescope . nice job .
@@fotoenvrossi3104 thank you! it’s a stellalyra (GSO) 8 inch f5. 1000mm. I have a review video on it from last year. I love it so much. Great bang for the buck. I use a zero asi2600 color with it.
Nice job!
Amazing what can be achieved with a small amateur telescope these days. This is ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY! People that are not used to it can't believe we are able to do such photos. Great video!
Thank you for the great review! I've been running a Hyperstar C9.25 for quite a while, and while I love it, there's a whole lot of stuff I don't bother shooting because the image scale is just too small at 514 mm FL. I've got the gear to run the C9.25 at f/6.3, with the same Askar M54 OAG and filter drawer incidentally, but smaller 294 camera. But then I have the oppposite extreme, too big an image scale. Been looking at 1000 mm FL newts as a happy medium, and was specifically looking for an 8" f5 vs a 10" f4 due to the weight of the 10"s. Sadly, aside from carbon tube TS UNC/ONTC at 3 times what I wanted to pay, I was running into a whole lots of "not in stock" for GSO 8" f5s. Plenty of inexpensive 10" f4s, but again, more massive than I want to hang on my CEM40. Glad to see these Stellalyre branded GSOs are still available from FLO, and shipping to the US sounds painless! I am so close to pulling the trigger, based in large part on your review, being about the only recent review of an 8" f5 newtonian I've found. Thanks again!
And congrats on both clearing up whatever the YT issue was, and big congrats on punching your commercial ticket! One day I'll go get my private, but as a hobbyist, it costs worse than astrophotography, lol. So I'll be sticking with part 103 powered paragliding for the conceivable future.
Just one word, OUTSTANDING , you have captured the true heavenly experience. I wish my astrophotography pics processed half as well as those. WELL DONE!
@@batfirewaf123 Thank you so much!!!!!
