    Your video is the best one I found about breast stroke in entire youtube. Your method of showing the dead frog really helped me learn the fundamentals of the kick.

    It always makes sense when I see someone else do it, but then I do it myself and get absolutely no propulsion from my kick. I guess I dont even get which part of my legs is supposed to be pushing against the water.

      @@Swimtopian Thanks for your reply. I tried today but unfortunately I had very less time and secondly I could not do the dead frog stand still position while floating and from wall as well. My legs were sinking. I was able to do dead frog posture having two chairs at home. May be next time I am planning to have noodle and try the dead frog posture. If there is any other technique please advise.

    • @bennsolo
      @bennsolo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried with the noodles and I was able to do the dead frog as well. Also I felt when kicking with duck feet I was able to push water and move further. I was able to do three kicks. This itself gave me a lot of motivation. Thank you much coach Joe.

  • @beauxrichards4245
    @beauxrichards4245 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Bring your heels straight back to your butt and THEN turn your feet out and legs out at the knee. Push down with your feet while forcefully swinging the legs at the knee straight back into your streamline glide.

    Thank you so much. Now I understand how I’m wasting my energy with ineffective kick. Very good lesson!
    Suggestion: please lower the music when you are not speaking. Too loud. Personally, I don’t care for that music at all and something more in tune with swimming would be so much nicer. No voices just rhythmic music by guitar? No offense. Great video. Thank you.

  • @Lana-K
    @Lana-K 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Your knees are moving too wide. The correct technique of pushing with your feet is slightly different, the position of the knees should not be more than shoulder width apart (then the rise of the heels to the buttocks occurs along the thigh almost and does not create excessive water resistance, slowing down forward movement).
    And you really need to try to push your feet wider to the sides and, by bringing the legs together, push the water out after you, like a jet stream behind an airplane. You can feel it right when you bring your legs down hard and sharply, you start sliding quickly right away. To do this, you also need to stretch the whole body as much as possible like an arrow from the hands in front to the fingertips on the feet stretched out like ballerinas. Due to sliding, most of the movement in the breaststroke occurs.
