    Good job Wes! I like your teaching style. You are really down to earth and you don’t use vocabulary that the average person doesn’t understand. And when you do use unfamiliar words, you explain them. I’ve watched several of your videos already and I’m enjoying it immensely. Keep up the good work.

    I was given a rustic cherry cabinet my brother had in his old house when he built his new house, it had stain on it and I redid it to the natural wood and put a clear coat on it and it is beautiful, but my favorite wood is oak. Oak has such beautiful wood grain and I cringe every time I see someone put paint over it. I don't care if the whole world is getting out of the natural oak look, I will keep mine natural even if everyone thinks it is outdated. Guess I myself am getting outdated. 😊

    Polished natural stone is the only thing that can rival the translucent beauty of wood.

    In order to see that the miter joint is even we have to have glasses. That was hilarious, and I can totally relate to it 😂

    Do you have a plan for a living room end table that is a little fancy with one drawer at the top and a shelve at the about a 6 or more from the bottom. Also perhaps the legs being something other than just straight. I love the way you showus how to make things square

    Putting some painters tape on the edges of the miter before gluing it together prevents the squeeze out to cause problems no wet cloth needed just remove tape.

    Hey Wes
    Do you have any videos on building a kitchen island with a sink in it. I check your web site but could not find any thing. I am just starting out and would like to build a island from my home and I don't how to get started.

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Wow...that's a big project. I don't have any video specific for building an island, however, that sounds like an excellent idea for one. If you would like, please go to my email woodworkingwithwes@gmail and leave me some specifics and I will see if I can help. Thanks, Wes

    Love the putty sanding technique…
    You said the shelf is solid Cherry and you glued it down. Are you not worried about wood movement for the shelf?

    • @pawnzrtasty
      @pawnzrtasty 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He put a few nails in everything. In the faceplate to the box and on the shelf to the board on the sides of the drawer. Should be pretty solid. I wouldn’t sit on it though.

    • @michaelmcanally9724
      @michaelmcanally9724 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I believe the shelf was the veneer ply. He used the solid cherry to just cover the exposed edge and meet the face frame.

    Clearly you weren't being super accurate as to where you started the cut of the first miter on each of the sides since you knew the sides were long enough to allow for a little error. But you didn't show how you made your second miter cut on the sides so it's not clear how you get the two sides exactly the same length. Is it a matter of setting the sides face-down on the table saw with the previously mitered edge running against the fence?

    • @WoodworkingWithWes
      @WoodworkingWithWes  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes...after the mitre they were cut to exact length with the mitre against the fence. Thanks for watching, Wes
